Rating out of 10: 8 Ordered from the lunch special. Ordered a chicken and brocolli with pork fried rice and a wonton soup. The soup was nice, fresh, and seemed to have used a real chicken breast for the base. Came w 2 wontons (seemed home made); little meat but still good. The pork fried rice was flavorless. All I tasted was the oil. Good thing I like hot sauce cause I had to add a lot. The chicken and broccoli was good. The broccoli was perfect just cooked (not soggy) and the chicken was very tender. The sauce itself was pretty good. Not my favorite chicken and broccoli but its up there. Would I come again? Yes but don't expect a lot from this place read more

Walked in at 2:55 and waited 9 minutes for anyone to come help me. The owner then said "lunch specials are over it's after 3pm" Are you kidding me the place is dead. You might as well close up and open up later. read more

My first time coming here I had the mongolian beef skewers which were amazing! The beef melted in your mouth with the perfect amount of rareness. Once I got their menu to bring home I saw they also had different bao buns that I knew I needed to come try. Today I got the roast pork and salmon bao buns. The buns were big in size and the dough is super soft. I thought the roast pork was a little dry and could've used a little more sauce. The salmon bao bun though had a lot of sauce and avocados which I felt like over powered the taste of the salmon patty. Staff was friendly and the place was very clean. read more

This food was awful. The sesame chicken was hard as a rock. The fried eggplant with beef looked like zeppolis and a quart of salty brown sauce. Not a vegetable in sight!! The rice seemed old and stale and was not hot. The woman on the phone was rude. Never again ! What a waste of money and it ruined our Saturday night dinner. read more

Attitude! I can't believe this is the face you wish to have for your business. Amazing that this place thinks it can have a viable business. There is much to say but it does t matter I am not coming back. Rice tasted old. read more

Lady on phone is always friendly. They know my address without me having to tell them. Delivery is always fast. They are open later than most in the area. Guy on phone is usually on the rude side. Food is what it is. Just order the classic American Chinese dishes and you'll be fine. Expect salty, sweet, and oily dishes prepared with low quality ingredients. Know what you're getting. It's American Chinese. They are stingy with the free rice and it's hard to explain the color of the wonton egg drop soup, but it's true they are my go-to delivery Chinese spot. Give them try. read more

loved this place, fresh delicious asian food! I am so sorry to hear they are closed! When did this happen and was it caused by the parking lot construction? Anyone know? read more

I ordered from this spot for lunch for my clients. I called the day before and ordered several items for delivery and the lady that took my order was very nice. For myself I ordered the vegetable chow fun and the vegetable bao. Everything was delivered on time with no issues. I also asked the lady if she could put my food in a separate bag and she did which I appreciated. When I got in I ate and the vegetable bao was very delicious. The chow fun was pretty good also. My experience was good all in all. read more

Third time here and essentially the same as you would expect to find at most Hibachi houses. The service good, prompt, friendly. Enjoyed the Steak and Shrimp, soup, spicy salmon roll and two beers. The chef show was good and with two other dinners and three mixed drinks the bill with tip was 168! read more

I am honestly surprised by all of the negative reviews. This place is pretty solid. To be fair I ordered delivery and did not deal with anyone from there (a lot of reviews seem to be negative because of the front of house). I ordered the sesame chicken and shrimp combo with a side of chicken wontons. Typical food with big portions. I'll order again. read more

I have been here 5 times. Food is okay (5 out of 10) but the quantities are abysmal for the money they charge, maybe (2 out of 10). Only had takeout but after today's disappointment I will be back on the hunt for a Chinese restaurant. read more

Just had the worst customer service experience, while with my 9 year old daughter. Nothing but attitude from the moment we entered, by the woman behind the counter. Even slamming my receipt on the counter, completely unprovoked. Upon addressing the level of dissatisfaction, the woman started shouting in complete disagreement with me. Needless to say I will NEVER be going back. read more

I'm not familiar with Bao, so that's my disclaimer up front! Decided to try this new spot out for a quick take-out lunch. Restaurant is nice and clean - fresh and modern looking. Ordered my lunch online and it was prepared quickly. Had the chicken bao with dumplings and ordered cold sesame noodles for tomorrow's lunch. Very tasty! read more

Imagine being a regular run of the mill Chinese food spot charging twice the price of every other similar restaurant in your area. The pricing is offensive to me. $21 for general tsaos chicken.... Are you kidding me? I could've gotten the same taste and quality for LITERALLY half as much. I decided to give this place a try since they're right down the street from my apartment and I was incensed. If you're going to pay gourmet prices for Chinese food get Bamboo House in Ridgewood (trust me), Bottom line: this place is just as basic as any not so special Chinese food spot you've ever tried and their prices are out of control high. They fooled me once, rest assured it'll never happen again. read more

I've been curious about this place since it opened so finally gave it a try. Pretty solid food and definitely did feel a little healthier and less heavy than the average Chinese takeout fare, as advertised. I will say it's a bit pricy for Chinese but the portions were generous. Ordered a wide range of stuff and while some items were better than others, nothing was bad. Highly recommend the the Pan Fried Noodles with Beef, one of my favorite things. Sesame Chicken was also delicious. The Roast Pork Bao was also a surprise hit too, not sure what the white sauce they use on it, but it was a perfect complement to the pork and the bao was big! Pork Dumplings and Wonton Egg Drop Soup were just ok, a little bland but otherwise fine. Overall, while a bit hit-or-miss, it was mostly hits and a good meal. Will definitely order again! read more

I wish I could give this place 0 stars. To begin with, I walked in and "server: Jean" was mopping the floor while asking me what I wanted to order... without even looking at me. When I knew what I wanted, I ordered a lunch special which comes with rice and a soup... she completely tried skipping the soup part and said that she asked me (she never asked me). Once I told her I do want the wonton soup, as it was included in the lunch special, she gave me the nastiest attitude and grabbed the food bag out of my hand and said "whatever." I wish I waited to pay, because I would've rather supported another local business instead of this. Not sure if Jean is the owner or an employee, she seemed to be running the show in there. But whatever it is, she needs to change her attitude towards clients. Not to mention another client that left complaining as soon as I arrive. I would not recommend this place nor I would come back. read more

OK but many old standards are too soupy for my taste. Asian fusion "with an attitude". Don't expect a request for extra condiments or sticks to come with a smile and a friendly 'sure, here you go'. read more

So I was loyal to another local Chinese delivery place, but last time I order it took over 2 hours to get my order, but in timely coincidence I got a shiny colorful menu in the mail the next day. It wasn't the traditional 4 panel menu, so clearly this place was different and wanted to stand out. I was thrown off that you couldn't order directly off yelp, and yeah I avoid any place that requires me to actually call and speak to person! but I went to their website and easily placed my order directly on their site, plus I got their 10% off order. They have most of the traditional favorites plus more. When you place your order you get real and ACCURATE tracking. Order arrived on time! Portions are ok, so I first thought it wasn't worth the price. But I took a bite of each of my plates and changed my mind. Now its not the same tastes of reheated or refried dishes you come to expect, and kinda of like. Its different. Fresh! Better! Loved the crispy, perfectly cooked wings. Ribs on the bone were awesome! Mongolian beef was different then i was used to, but again, having the fresh veggies really made the dish stand out. The lo mein was classic. Happy to have found a new favorite. read more

I was looking for a good Chinese takeout place after my childhood spot closed during Covid. I'm so happy I found out about Grand Wok! The lunch special is delicious and the food truly feels less salty and oily (as they market themselves) without sacrificing any flavor. I ordered delivery from them online and the order came EXACTLY on time. The delivery lady was so friendly as well. Love this place and will definitely be coming back! read more

Decided to try this place out since they advertise that they use less oil and salt. Ordered a bunch of lunch combos, including boneless spare ribs and chicken wings. The pork had no taste, other than being sweet and chewy. Chicken wings were advertised as 4 but they're literally 4 pieces, not the 4 wings that other Chinese restaurants sell, and they were burnt and dried up - see photo attached. Fried rice was also dry and flavorless. Do not recommend this place to anyone. read more

I wouldn't feed this food to my dog. We ordered the chicken with crispy Chinese eggplant and we received a quart container of chicken swimming in a vat of gelatinous brown sauce. No veggies, no nothing. In the side was a container of deep fried batter dipped eggplant that was nothing but mush. The Mongolian beef sticks were made of I don't know what and were hard and tasteless. The fried rice was disgusting, had chunks of what looked like old white rice. I've never had worse Chinese food. Don't go here! read more

Basic three star Chinese. Place is clean inside should you want to eat there but the food is standard average. Loss of a star for exorbitant pricing which makes you think maybe you're going to get better quality than you end up with. read more

I just ordered food tonight and the lo mein was so overcooked It was inedible. It looks good and the sauce and vegetables were good but the lo mein was so severely over cooked it was complete mush. Disappointed because if it weren't for that the dish would probably have been good. read more

My family and I have ordered delivery from here a few times. The food is always pretty good. I don't remember everything I've ordered the past few months. However, tonight we ordered house fried rice, Chef Lu's pickle, chicken with cashews, an egg roll, and the Szechuan water dumplings. Everything is good. My favorite is the fried rice- it has a good amount of meat and the flavor is good. The food is also pretty cheap and it came on time. read more

Had a pretty unpleasant interaction over the phone with an employee. When I wasn't able to use my original payment method, she got agitated and slammed the phone down. This is not a way to conduct yourself with a potential customer. Never once did I say I wasn't going to order my food. Knocking off one star for this reason. On to the food-very nice. I had chow mein with beef and a chicken bao bun. It's hard to find good bao in the area so it was nice to get a decent one. The bao was nice and big, filling. Chow mein was tasty with plenty of beef. read more

Consistently incredible. Love that they have gluten free and allergy choices. Their general tso's chicken and gluten free chicken and broccoli (white sauce) are my favorites. Definitely recommend this place. read more

I ordered from Grand Wok for the first time tonight and was pleasantly surprised. A high quality Asian fusion cuisine restaurant that piqued my taste buds pleasantly so ! Just ordered some standard favorites, (Shrimp with garlic sauce), (Spring rolls), (Fried rice), totally delicious, fresh and hot delivered. Delivery person seems he's quite happy with his job too ! I will be trying different dishes here in the near future. Grand Wok, you've got yourself another customer! Thank you ! read more

Good portions. Loved the parting gifts. The food was delicious. A little bit on the higher price side but definitely worth it. We ordered a lot and the typical 20 min response for pick up was spot on. Super hot food and tasty. Will come again. Also, the lady is funny. She's got the typical Asian mom annoyed voice and stern look but cool as hell. Great place read more

First time at this place 11/20/2020 Salty wonton soup. Undercooked vegetables and chewy beef on the beef and vegetables. Priced 30% to 40% higher than any Chinese takeout within the 10 mile radius. And, the coup de grâce they charge 7% (as of 11/20/2020) sales tax instead of 6.25%. Even though it is a miniscule difference, it violates New Jersey S&U tax laws. They collect more revenue from customer's than required. read more

So many good things here. The lunch specials are an excellent value. The fried wontons are SO GOOD (I skip the red sauce) House special wonton soup is a favorite of my coworker, along with the spinach and tofu soup. read more

Food was ready on time and was hot. Portions were plentiful. Store appeared clean and staff were pleasant. I will be back.

Ordered first time and the last time. Very expensive, no choices in sizes like other places have. Hot and sour was totally black, nothing in it. Chicken Lo Mein had hardly some meat and vegetables in it and was extremely oily. Advertising less oil and salt - not true! No wonder place had zero customers. Place like this in my opinion will not last! read more

This place is a joke and no idea how it has such high ratings. I ordered online for delivery and 2 hours later, still no food. Someone called and made it seem as if they were a few houses away. When I was able to actually get a hold of them, they said it wasn't them who was going to deliver but someone else. Of course when I try to call the place, the phone is busy. They took it off the hook. That's great considering I don't want the food anymore and want to request a refund. I guess good luck with that. At this point, it better be the best damn Chinese food I've ever had in my life and I'm willing to bet it won't be. -update- they finally said someone was on their way, but no one came. I guess it's cool to charge people for food they don't deliver. I'll have to go there in person and request a refund. They said someone was going to deliver but because I ordered online it's not their fault that the system messed up? Ok? How does that explain not delivering my food. Piss poor. read more

Beware....they lied about the price of the food over the phone to shake us down for more money when delivery came to the house. I've been in Midland Park for 20years and never treated this way. On top of everything, there food is not very good. Real crooks... Beware. read more

Finally! A really good local Chinese restaurant. Grand Wok's food tastes and looks like food (and if you've settled too long for variations on the same old Asian glop -- especially take out -- you know that's an unfortunately high bar in these parts). These guys are not newcomers, but their concept is a legit fresh take on the familiar. They prepare with care, use fresh ingredients, less oil and more natural flavor. Really refreshing and good-sized portions. Give it a shot. You will be very pleasantly surprised. Disclaimer: I DO NOT WORK THERE OR HAVE ANY INTEREST OTHER THAN EATING GOOD FOOD. read more

We just had for work lunch I really enjoyed my food chicken with garlic sauce and fried rice ...will definitely order again ...

The woman who takes the orders over the phone is extremely rude. She can't handle one hour of busy orders at 6pm and takes it out on her customers. The food is fair with small portions. The boneless ribs are hard and dry and have no flavor. Greasy Lo Mein that made my cousin throw up during the night. There are better choices than Grand Wok for Asian food in our area. read more

We ordered delivery from Grand Wok tonight for our first time. We ordered the pork steamed dumplings with extra sauce on the side, the General Tsos Chicken & Shrimp and Shrimp with Garlic Sauce, extra spicy. The pork steamed dumplings were very good and not too doughy...extra sauce delivered as requested. The shrimp with garlic sauce came with broccoli and red and green peppers and was very tasty. The restaurant boasts itself as having less oil and salt but I did not find that to be the case with the shrimp with garlic sauce; next time, I will ask for light on oil and salt. The shrimp were delicious and fresh! The General Tsos order was deemed "the best." Everything was delivered exactly on time. We will order again for sure. read more
