I made a to-go order after I saw this place was finally open and it was a bit of a let down. I had a burrito and margarita craving and this place had both. I ordered the Burrito California, one of the margaritas, and chips and salsa. With a tip, it was a little over $50, which was... a lot. The margarita was really great, no complaints about it. The tequila they use is nice and smooth and the flavors were really balanced. The burrito was a let down. The steak was cut all uneven inside and they forgot to top the burrito with the cheese sauce which was the entire reason I ordered that specific burrito. It was overpriced already but even more so considering it wasn't made right. The experience wasn't great and I probably would only come here for the margaritas. With the number of other Mexican restaurants nearby, I don't think you'll be missing out by skipping this one. read more

This food here is amazing. I have been here at least seven to nine times this month and today is only 4/20. The food is Fulfilling and plenty for the price. you can actually taste The ingredients in every bite. The drinks are good no they are amazing. Customer service is great! As yelp says, please be considerate in reviews during times of COvID. Ok...I have never eaten in the restaurant but did takeout in week 2 or 3 of their opening. I picked up on time, yet the food tasted as if it sat there for at least 20-30min. So anything that should have been crunchy was not and the food was warm at best. (btw...only a 5min to get home). If comparing to other local Hampton Roads Mexican eateries, this spot was "meh." As for taste, my wife and son voted not to go back. My Fav Mexican place TO DATE!!!! I have a favorite for this specific dish but this will now be my only Mexican chain to eat at in Hampton roads. This location is newer to the area as far as Mexican food and I have been wanting to try it for a couple months now . The service was fast and was seated immediately. The server was friendly and informative and was th first to correct me on the enunciation of the word " suizas" and that already received my respect immediately . I usually order the same dish wherever I got because Mexican is one of my fav food and their enchilada was the best I ever had. The chicken was very juicy and flavorful and the sauce was amazing . I was able to reheat the next morning and still get the same amazing taste. Now I would recommend receiving a spoon automatically for this type of margarita because it was hard to pull through those small straws. I'm giving the stars because our first two visits were good but buckle up boys and girls. The waitress comes over takes our drink orders and we ask for bean dip. 15 minutes later drinks come we order, I ask her for xtra xtra sour cream and I remind her of bean dip, she throws her head back and says "right bean dip" Food comes no sour cream. She appears. I ask for another drink, napkins and extra sour cream. I think her circuits overloaded. I watch her go from table to table. I'm patient, but because I'm strange I need the sour cream to eat, it's the reason I asked in the first place. We see the hostess seating another party and we're thinking we should flag her down to send our waitress back to us for a refresher. Suddenly she makes eye contact with me and triumphantly raises napkins over her head. When she brings her trophy back to us. We remind her of the drink and sour cream and my husband throws a curve ball at her and ordering a double bourbon. She disappeared. I mean really she disappears. I'm considering taking a nap. The husband stands up and the waitress sensing danger waives. 5 minutes later I have a drink and sour cream so at least I can start eating. At some point she shows up and puts a drink in front of the hubs, it has been so long I forgot the hubs ordered it. Finally we're at the end. We a ask for a to go box and the check. We waited 30 minutes for that. 3 times she walked by us and said, "right a to good container". When I lost all patience I was waiving my hand at her and I think she realized I was at my breaking point. She brought us the to go package, told me how busy she was. The restaurant wasn't full. This place is just... okay. They serve the typical Mexican food that you can get at better restaurants like La Parrilla. The only difference is that this food filled me up abnormally fast, which told me MSG was added. This is not good for anyone who's allergic to it. Plus, it always makes me suspicious of a restaurant who feels the need to add MSG to their food. What are you trying to hide? The staff was a little rude too, joking about things that shouldn't be joked about. Overall, my experience was ok, but I won't be eating here again. Two stars, food was okay, not truly authentic. The desert was amazing!! We had fried ice cream and a churro cup. There was somewhat a language barrier. After two hours or so of eating lunch there today my husband and I started throwing up! 10 hours later I am writing this, and we still do not feel well. Something about the food did not agree with us. I ordered two chicken tacos and rice. My husband ordered a quesadilla that had shrimp steak and chicken in it. Ordered Fiesta salad and ranch dressing. It came with a huge amount of raw onions. It was Unedible. I asked for dressing and I got a tiny store bought warm ranch cup the size of coffee creamer. Ordered takeout last night. Unfortunately, I have a dairy allergy so I asked for no cheese or sour cream in my taco salad. We also asked for no onion in the fresh guacamole we ordered. Despite it being on the takeout receipt, neither of these requests actually happened on our order. There was no way I could scrape off the cheese and sour cream without completely removing all of lettuce off of my salad so I could not eat a good portion of my order. I know now that I should stick to ordering off the vegan menu if I plan on getting takeout. I will say that I appreciate the fact that a vegan menu actually exists. We also ordered a single potato burrito and some kind of carnitas burrito for my husband. The potato filling was good, but the carnitas were bland. Here's hoping they get better at actually reading special requests since it's a feature on their online ordering system. read more
