Unlike other local establishments, this coffee shop doesn't display any informational posters or resources that remind immigrants of their rights or connect them to community support. The owner frequently promotes his event space, but it appears to be used only for profit. A truly community-minded business owner would consider donating that space at least once a month to organizations that host rapid response trainings or informational sessions for immigrants. It's disappointing to see that while the owner has time to showcase his business at city events, he hasn't shown up for the very community he claims to represent. Businesses that have the resources to help but choose not to are not the kind we should be supporting. I've chosen to recommend that my friends and family take their business elsewhere--specifically to GRANO, which has consistently demonstrated what true community engagement looks like.
