I've also visited the downtown and Lincoln park locations, and while the açaí bowl was still as delicious and the atmosphere was welcoming -- there is still a different feel compared to the Hyde Park location. This location gives study session, quick link-up, WFH session, and so much more. The music is always amazing and it's always a chill crew! 100/10

Sometimes when you're stoned you do the weirdest things and crave the weirdest stuff. I was scrolling on DoorDash for what felt like 67 years when I stumbled on Deep Purpl. Their menu literally screamed exactly what my munchies were demanding, so obviously I ordered everything. First up the Acai Bowl 20oz with banana, strawberry, kiwi, granola, organic honey, extra strawberries, and chia seeds. I am telling you this bowl changed me as a human. I had never had an Acai Bowl before and now I'm obsessed. Every fruit was fresher than fresh, the granola was a spiritual experience, and the balance of flavors was ridiculous. Then I got the PB Toast and I'm still asking myself why I hesitated to pay $6.99 for it. GAWD it was amazing. Crispy bread, peanut butter, banana, strawberries, blueberries, honey drizzle. The best $6.99 piece of toast I have ever had in my life. Because I clearly have no self-control I also grabbed the spinach and cheese empanada and malbec and beef empanada. No words. Everything was fantastic. Every single item was a joy to inhale and I will absolutely do it again. The DoorDash pick-up was super easy and the staff was incredibly friendly. The only minor gripe is they don't provide bags so I had to carry everything individually walking home, which was slightly annoying. But honestly the food, the vibes, and the experience? 10 out of 10. Will be back.

One of the things I love about coming here is the customer service because it's really great, especially from one of the really nice girls who works in the mornings on weekdays (I need to get her name and edit this review because she's so nice) and their oatmeal bowls are some of the best I've had and I'm pretty picky about my oatmeal. Another positive is they can do a 100% nut free smoothie because they have separate blenders for people that can't have nuts and I think that's amazing. I've seen places that mix nut and nut free in the same blenders and that's so dangerous / frustrating. I'll definitely continue coming here

Playa Bowls is in a great location amongst a busy street to stop by if you're looking for a snack. The space isn't really meant for sitting and dining in, but there are some options to sit down for the quick bite. It can also get a bit loud with all the blending (to be expected!) I was impressed you could add quite a bit if you wanted. There are a great bit of options to mix and match, but I decided to go with a classic strawberry, banana, and Nutella. The açaí tasted exactly like the açaí served at Costco. It was decent enough and my friend's was similar, but oof, the prices aren't worth it. If I'm in a pinch and want something different than a smoothie, I'll consider stopping by again. But I can't say I'd really make coming back here a priority.
