If you're looking for Puerto Rican food and in the area, it's a decent spot which is why it gets 4 stars. The Jibaritos were tasty and so was the arroz con gandules! I think the restaurant is a unique concept: it's a combination of a small Christian book store and a home-like cafe combined with a Puerto Rican restaurant. The menu is small. The servers are kind and bring the food quickly.

The food itself was decent chicken was moist and had good flavor, just make sure you opt for the seasoned chicken. The beans and rice were a little bland but I spiced it up with the salsa which I liked. I also want to add this is a very clean restaurant. I felt comfortable taking a chance on this place because it was so clean. The service was good and the employees were courteous.

Easily this has been my best smoothie experience in Chicago. First the environment is nicely clean, simplistic and orderly. The smoothie I had was Chia Banana Boost and it was on point all the way. Serving sizes are only large too. I was so happy about finding this gem in the Chicago area. The smoothie was mouthwatering, healthy and fully balanced with a number of nutritious ingredients. I never once had the belief that anything was synthetic or fake about my smoothie choice. I didn't feel that I was being sold a sweet imitation type smoothie. The ice in the smoothie was fully crushed, and my drink was prepared fast. The price is around $10 and no need to fuss over size. Its only 1 size from what I could tell. I am returning asap even though it's a long drive coming from east of Dan Ryan expressway. It's been a while since I had such a good experience with smoothie drinks.

I had a terrible experience at this Tropical Smoothie location and left very disappointed,…read moreespecially because the manager was involved from start to finish. After placing my order, I asked the manager at the register how long I should expect to wait for my drink. Instead of giving me an estimated wait time, she simply pointed to the crowd and did not provide an answer. I told her I would wait in my car, and she said that was okay. About 10 minutes later, I came back inside only to find out that my drink had been given to someone else. When I explained what happened, the manager asked me if I had even paid for the drink, even though she was the same person who had rung up my order just 10 minutes earlier. I understand that businesses can get busy, but this situation could have been handled much better. I had my receipt, and I had already spoken with the manager before stepping outside. Being questioned about whether I had paid made me feel disrespected and uncomfortable. Overall, the customer service was disappointing, and this experience left a very negative impression.

I was craving nachos, so I decided to stop by Razpachis Paletería Michoacana, and let me tell you, I was not disappointed! The nachos were absolutely delicious! The cheese was just right, perfectly melted and full of flavor, and the jalapeños had just the right kick to complement everything. Sometimes it's the simple things that hit the spot, and these nachos certainly did! My mom decided to treat herself to a banana split with three scoops of ice cream: coconut, vanilla, and another flavor I had never heard of, something that sounded like "pino." It had coconut flakes and oatmeal, which made it an interesting combination! She certainly enjoyed her treat! It's always nice finding a place so close to home where you can satisfy those little cravings without going far. Overall, a wonderful experience, delicious treats, and definitely a place I'll be visiting again. Next time, I may have to explore more of their menu! Five stars from me! Highly recommended!
