Been coming here for years and not one complaint. I had the 1/2 chicken meal with rice and Mexican style onions. Delicious more of a home style serving I guess. Waitress very kind professional and had a great smile. Parking is a little tight. All in all 5 star visit once again highly recommended don't think twice about coming here super clean and they only serve chicken! read more

I have been here a few times and even though it is not the first place that comes to my mind, whenever I'm in the neighborhood and want some chicken I come here. The chicken is good, they have it natural and seasoned. the sides are good, rices, beans, mashed potatoes, coleslaw, grilled onion and jalapenos, and a few more that slipped my mind. The place is nice and clean, the service is nice and helpful. I guess is one of those places that are not the best, but are still good, and I go there because Idon't want to go somewhere else and be disappointed. First time here and I was impressed. For about $12.00 I was able to get a whole chicken, beans, rice, salsa, and tortillas. Not a bad price for a family of three. The food itself was decent chicken was moist and had good flavor, just make sure you opt for the seasoned chicken. The beans and rice were a little bland but I spiced it up with the salsa which I liked. I also want to add this is a very clean restaurant. If you are not Mexican, do not purchase anything from here. I like the food here but if you do not speak spanish, they cleary do not want you to be a customer. I have been coming here on and off for a while and today will be my last time. I am tired of these people being rude to me just because I don't speak the language. I am not Mexican and for some freaking reason they get very upset that I don't speak spanish but I do know the basics like numbers, and that I learned in high school. I odered take out and when the lady called my number (84) I stood up to get my food. She started speaking spanish and I said "I don't understand". She then yelled at me and said "I said 84, are you 84?!!" and then walked away but I know she said something else because like I said, I know my numbers. Either way, she was very rude. That is not good customer service and I will not continue to spend my hard earned dollars here. That was not the only incident, that was just the last straw for me. They could give an eff less if you frequent their business. I even had an employee ask me before, why I don't speak spanish and I explained to the man that I am Filipino and his response was, "you should still know spanish". My wife and I visited this location upon a recommendation from a friend. Upon arrival we were greeted and welcomed to the restaurant by the cashier. She was ever so friendly taking our order and explaining the menu options. With patience and friendliness she broke down the specials for the days and our sides to order along with our order. The food was made fresh not reheated even though it was a Tuesday evening and the restaurant pretty empty to ourselves. The food came out and it was just what we expect!! This is the last time I order from el Campestre on 69th and Pulaski. They show poor business customer service and have no idea how important that is. I was there to get dinner and on the side and front of their windows they had a big special of the day sign that stated that with the purchase of combo #1you would get 1/2 of a chicken free, well when I asked them if I got the extra 1/2 chicken she refuse to give it to me because I had order my sides extra large so I stated that there was nothing on the sign that said that you would have to order the regular size. That is false advertising I told her, she stated that she was not going to give it to me regardless. I asked for the manager and she said she was the manager.
