I asked the employee Kwame also known as " RASTA- K did they have any of the product in stock and he replied, " it's been discontinued." I then inquired about other products and the benefits. He responded by saying they're all the same. I requested that he explain the difference and was told to read it myself. He finally relocated to the the area showing the benefits. I wasn't pleased with his customer service. I politely declined purchasing the other brand and purchase a bottle of sea moss mixture just to support the black owned business. Another employee returned from lunch and Kwame told her that I was disrespecting their products. I paid for my item and exited the store pissed. I re-entered the store and requested him to apologize for his statement and he declined. He said, "If you were offended I'm not apologizing. I told him that I'm a consumer/customer and I will not patronize said establishment again. I've supported this business for years because I believe and appreciate black businesses in the Englewood community. I will not purchase a product due to employee trying to make a sale. Very dissapointed consumer. Jackson

Their brown butter cookies are to go to jail for! However,…read moreyou see I'm still free to review :-) What can I say, Whole Foods as a Whole is a paycheck's whole balance however!....whole wine from their bottom shelf is better than most. The store in this location is not as expansive as the others in the Chicagoland area but I am super duper ok with that. I tried walking around a WHOLE WALMART AND NEEDed TO UNBOX A SCOOTER to get to the exit...its a forest, and I need to see my way out quickly at times. So the size of this store is not so bad for my expeditious getaways. the employees are wholesome as a whole except for one...I won't say any names but it is definitely not! Octavia ;-) Real talk, the spicy guacamole is delicious but peri meno tastebuds told me to be meek and mild on Mary. Thanks...see ya next time.

Last month I purchased a Fiji water from the cooler by the self check out. When I opened it, it tasted old. It had a musty taste. Then my husband bought some pork chops earlier this month and they were rancid. Today my husband purchased some 80/20 ground beef today 1/24/2026 for some patty melts. I noticed upon opening the package that some of the meat looked fresh and other parts looked dark a bit. I smelled it and it smelled fine so I proceeded to make patty melts. My whole family ate. Their patty melts with no problem. My husband was the last one to eat his and he found a long piece of hair in his burger. Like a long strand. My hair is short like Halle Berry's 90's short. This wasn't my hair. This hair was embedded into the patty. This came from the store. We were disgusted! While things like this can happen, management needs to enforce that all employees in meat, bakery etc are wearing hairnets. Also do a better with your overall quality control!!!

It's a place in Hyde Park I'd been looking to try another spot but of course it was closed. Back to searching and we found this spot and what a gem! Sammy, greeted us and she was absolutely lovely! It's a local spot in Hyde Park and the decor is amazing! I had a special, jerk mushroom taco plate with beans, rice, plantains and pico de gallo. Hubby had the Mediterranean plate with oyster mushrooms. Amazing! We were given complimentary lemonade in celebration of Juneteenth, thank you so much! They have vegan cookies and we enjoyed a lemon blueberry cookie and it was delicious! We truly enjoyed our meal and the chance to trying out a new spot! Support local businesses!

On top of that, the service was OK for a cafe, but not what I would expect when paying for a $20+ entree... Our table ordered some similar foods and the waiter didn't know what each dish was when it came out, so we had to guess whose was whose. Each dish also came out individually with lag time in between, so when they forgot one of the meals, it wasn't immediately clear and the cashier/waiter were very defensive about it. For those prices, I would rather go to a sit-down restaurant like Mahari or 14 Parish just a few blocks away. This is the cafe's second rebrand that I'm aware of, so some older reviews are commenting on things that don't exist any more. I miss when it was a breakfast spot!
