I hired Grace Lin Makeup and Hair Studio to be my wedding day hair and makeup team, and I couldn't have made a better choice! Tiffany, Cece, and May were assigned to my wedding day, and they were absolutely amazing. They were punctual, friendly, attentive, and incredibly experienced and talented in both hair and makeup. We had 1 bride, 1 groom, 4 bridesmaids, and 2 moms who needed hair and makeup services, and the entire team did such a beautiful job on everyone. They worked so efficiently and finished all the services right on time. My bridal party and I were truly amazed by how wonderful this team was! Grace was also incredibly professional throughout the entire planning process. She handled all the communication, scheduling, and logistics so smoothly. She is such a great leader and managed her team exceptionally well, which made the entire experience feel organized and stress-free. I just received my wedding photos, and seeing how beautiful I looked brought back all the wonderful memories from that day. I truly can't thank Grace, Tiffany, Cece, and May enough for doing such an incredible job and helping make my wedding day so special and beautiful. Thank you so much, Grace, Tiffany, Cece, and May! You are all amazing! I would definitely recommend Grace Lin Makeup and Hair Studio to anyone looking for a talented, professional, and reliable wedding day hair and makeup team. I came across Grace Lin through Yelp and noticed a few of my friends follow her on Instagram. Her portfolio photos looked absolutely flawless, so when I wanted to refresh my own hair and makeup skills with a private lesson, she was the obvious choice. I emailed her, and she got back to me super quickly. On the day of the lesson, she showed up right on time. I liked her personality too, she was very personable and friendly. You can tell how experienced she is from the way she demonstrates her techniques. We went through everything from full makeup to hair, and we recorded the whole session. I've been rewatching the videos over the last few days to practice. I picked up so many helpful tips I hadn't thought about before, like better ways to shape and enhance my eyebrows, better bronzer application, and little tricks for both hair and makeup. She also mentioned she'd send over a list of recommended tools afterward (I definitely realized I'm missing a few things, like stuff for crimping hair). It was valuable to go back to the basics with her guidance and see exactly how to level up my everyday techniques. Highly recommend if you're looking to improve your skills! read more

Thank you May,Grace, and Tiffany! Did my hair and makeup with them for my wedding and did a trial. Both held up for the whole day. Communication was on point, and even though I have them not much direction, they saw the vision. read more

I booked Grace Lin's Makeup and Hair services for BOTH my Engagement Shoot, as well as my Wedding makeup package (not counted as 1 package, but SO worth the cost!) I definitely wanted professional makeup done for my special events, since these pictures were going to last forever. That's when I came across Grace. For my Engagement Shoot, Grace was very professional in booking an artist in my local area at a studio via email. Everything went great. The makeup artist. May, was so professional and definitely made me feel beautiful, even for my Engagement Shoot. She did my makeup so gently and curled my hair in a way that I REALLY liked. She even did final touch-ups to make sure I looked good. Also, the makeup looked so natural that I was very satisfied with my look. For my WEDDING makeup, I decided to book Grace to, finally, book makeup services for myself, AS WELL AS my Maid-of-Honor, Bridesmaid, My mom, and my Mother-in-Law. Even though I kept "adding" on people, Grace was very professional in creating an appropriate schedule for ALL of my wedding party's makeups done. Even when I wanted to book my Wedding Hair and Makeup trial...they definitely did not skimp! They STILL made sure I looked good, and took in some feedback I had to make some changes. This time around, May did most of the makeup, and Olivia did most of the hairs. However, May did BOTH my makeup and hair. Again, I was SO impressed with both of their services. They were both on time, came with the necessary materials, and even waited half an hour for my mom when she was late...They made sure all of us looked BEAUTIFUL for my big day, and even did final touch-ups. Olivia and May, A-MAZING JOB! 你們好棒！ If I have any other special events where I need makeup & hair services, or if any other brides need services...BOOK. GRACE. LIN's services! Also...Professional services done by Akiko Liu Photos. SHE IS AMAZING TOO! I will be writing a review for her as well! read more

I'm going to preface this review by letting all future brides know that hair and makeup will take much longer than you might expect lol. With that being said, be sure to pick someone who will make those hours of sitting still worth while!! I went with Grace Lin studio at my aunt's recommendation. Her patients who had recently gotten married sang their praises about the studio. I worked with Olivia for my hair and makeup. I naturally have fine hair that was on the thinner side. I was concerned about obtaining believable volume in my hair Olivia utilized just a few clips of extensions in my hair (I used Luxy extensions) and blended them into my updo. My hair lasted all night through running, clipping and removing a veil multiple, multiple times, and dancing. All of my friends complimented my hair (and makeup) and none of them realized that I had extensions in there because of how natural it looked My makeup looked like an elevated version of how I like to usually do my makeup, so I felt very "me" but special at the same time. Olivia was easy to work with-she listened to my ideas on how I wanted my hair and makeup to look, while offering thoughtful and honest suggestions on how to make my ideas as achievable and realistic as possible. My makeup was delicately applied layer by layer resulting in a very natural look The prices were very fair. Wedding hair and makeup is going to cost what it costs-they are on the higher end of the range but not the highest. It was worth it for me because I didn't want to stress about doing my hair and makeup on the day of the wedding. I got to sit down, relax, and eat lol. The best part is that everything lasted through the whole day, photos and night. Thank you Olivia! read more

I hired Grace Lin Make Up & Hair Studio for our engagement shoot and was looking for someone in Pasadena that specialized in working with asian faces/hair. I provided a presentation of my current no makeup face + hair down, the dresses I was wearing, and my inspo. I met my makeup artist, Kaka, bright and early at the Pasadena studio and immediately we got to work. I provided a smokey makeup look, but I've never really done professional makeup before and wasn't super used to the bold makeup look on me. My makeup artist was receptive to me asking for the nose contour to be removed, and I learned a lot after the session about what I would ask for next time to meet my actual wedding day look goals. Despite the initial shock from the makeup (which not the fault of the makeup artist because I did provide that as the inspo), the makeup photographed beautifully in the engagement photos which I was very happy about it! I was in love with the hair Kaka did on me - it was a twisted updo and I'm amazed that she was able to make my thin hair look so voluminous and ethereal. Both hair and makeup held up great on our hot 2 hour photoshoot. I had a great experience working with Grace Lin's studio and came away with a lot of valuable learnings I'll take for my wedding day look! read more

Grace and her team were exceptional for my bridal party and me during my wedding last June. I was lucky to work with Olivia from the studio, who helped me during my trial session and during my wedding day. She was communicative throughout both processes, always checking in to make sure that I was happy with the results. She also gave me great make up and skincare tips during my trial to help me feel my best during the wedding day. Grace's team's aesthetic is focused on a soft glam look, which made my bridal party and me feel like a done up version of ourselves. The looks also held up well despite having our wedding be on a hot June day in SoCal. Would absolutely go back to Grace's team for future makeup needs! read more

Thank you,May!I had an amazing experience getting my hair and makeup done on my wedding day! Everything turned out absolutely beautiful.better than I even imagined. My hair held perfectly all day, and my makeup looked flawless while still feeling natural like myself. I really appreciated the attention to detail and the care put into making sure everything was just right. Imagine the team even video called me at 8PM just to study my features and ensure that I will absolutely look amazing on my special day! Even provided me with a touch-up kit Again! Thank you, May & Grace for accommodating me last minute! You guys are the best! read more

I hired Grace Lin Make Up and Hair Studio for my wedding and was very happy with the results! We had 3 makeup/hair artists (Olivia, May, and Tiffany) come in and do me (the bride) and my 6 bridesmaids. Grace and her team, Cici and Christine were absolutely amazing!! I had a great hair and make up trial with Grace several months before the wedding. We actually had the best time during the trial, we clicked immediately and chatted throughout the whole trial making me super comfortable with her and excited for the wedding day! On the day of, she showed up early and stayed ahead of schedule which was something very important to me and it was amazing not to have to stress over timelines at all! The hair and makeup was flawless- Grace and her team have an impecable gift of makeup that is glamorous but still natural! All of my bridesmaids and moms were so happy with their looks! We were SO lucky to have Grace and her team glam us and couldn't be happier with the results! read more

We cannot say enough wonderful things about Grace! She and her team are incredibly talented and did absolutely amazing makeup for our entire wedding party. Everyone looked beautiful and felt confident, and the makeup photographed so well throughout the day. From the very beginning, the entire process with Grace was smooth and stress-free. Her communication was outstanding -- she was always responsive, patient, and happy to answer our questions. She truly guided us through every step and made sure we felt comfortable and informed the whole time. We knew Grace was the one as soon as we went through her portfolio online. Her work really stood out to us -- her bridal makeup style is very natural and elegant, yet still unique and perfectly tailored to each individual bride. She takes facial features, hair, and overall look into consideration, which makes her work feel so personalized rather than one-size-fits-all. We also absolutely loved Grace's personality. When we met her for the first time at our trial session, it honestly felt like we had known her for years. She is so easy to talk to and work with, really listens to what the bride wants, and makes thoughtful, helpful recommendations for hair styles, accessories, and the overall bridal look. Grace is clearly very experienced and confident in what she does, and that gave us so much peace of mind. We truly felt like we were in great hands and didn't have to worry about anything on such an important day. Grace is hands-down the best makeup artist anyone could ask for. We highly recommend her to anyone looking for a talented, professional, and genuinely wonderful makeup artist for their big day! read more

I did a makeup lesson with Grace and it was such an informative, well-planned experience. She even shared a list of tools to bring beforehand, which was great because I can continue using them after the lesson. Grace personalized everything to my facial features and taught me how to apply both eye and face makeup in a way that finally makes sense for me. As someone who never really knew how to do my own makeup, this was incredibly helpful. I'm genuinely excited to start using all the tips and techniques she taught me for my everyday routine and for special events. Highly recommend! read more

I had a one on one wedding makeup and hair class with Grace, and learned so much! She was super kind and patient, and made me feel really comfortable as a total make up beginner. The structure of the class was great as well, she first did a demo, then a guided practice where she had me try several times until I got it right. She also helped analyze my facial proportions and provide techniques that would enhance my features. She even supplied a phone tripod for me to record the lesson to review later. At the end of the class she sent a super thorough shopping list as well as a step by step guide to help me remember the process. She's super talented and genuinely interested in helping you learn. For the hair course she showed me 3 different styles, and explained the basic techniques for styling. I felt like she had so much information to teach, and could easily expand the course into multiple sessions and would be suitable for any skill level. Grace is a great teacher, and would recommend her to anyone looking to learn how to do their own makeup and hair! read more

We got referral from a friend who works in the wedding industry and so I just booked with Grace for their bridal hair and makeup, without having a trial session first because browsing through the website, I can tell that they know how to do make up for Chinese brides. This was in 2019, and our wedding got postponed for obvious reasons but they offered to apply the deposit when I'm able to reschedule, which was very rare in my experience because the other vendors I booked did not honor that. Fast forward, we finally got a new date and were able to make the event happen. The trial session went so well; both May and Tiffany did such a great job, I had no hesitation with my look. I didn't have a wedding party but I used them for my mom and the flower girl's hair as well. They both looked so beautiful. Everyone was happy with the service! Will definitely recommend if you are a bride who wants to happy and look stunning on your wedding day:) read more

Makeup lessons! I am someone who literally has no idea what she's doing when it comes to makeup, and I spend so much money buying things I see online just to test out and everything is the wrong color and I still have no idea what I'm doing. I knew it was best to just have someone teach me what to do for my face and create my own personal look. I was fortunate to find Grace on Yelp for small group lessons for me and my sister. We had to schedule a couple months out, but Grace worked with both of our schedules and even flew down from the Bay Area to accommodate us down in her Pasadena studio. Grace understands Asian faces and knows how to highlight and enhance our features including my monolid. She points out areas of unevenness and how to correct them so you know where to focus your attention in the future. Grace also spent a lot of time teaching my sister how to handle her uneven/protruding eyes due to her past medical history. She helps address your problem areas and provides solutions. Throughout the session, Grace sat in between me and my sister demoing and guiding us the entire time. Grace is happy to find the right colors and products for you, but if you have certain makeup that you typically use, she can also work with those and help pick the right colors in your palettes. And if you're like me and don't have any good brushes, Grace can also help purchase the items she recommends. At the very end, Grace will provide you with a summary with links to the products, colors, and instructions for recreating everything. My sister and I had a great time and feel like we learned a lot, and if anything, we were bummed that we had nowhere fancy to go that evening because we looked so good after the class! I have no hesitations recommending Grace for lessons, or if you're in need of a makeup artist--because teachers are experts in their practice. :) read more

LOVE LOVE LOVE!! I'll admit, I was nervous at first because my previous experiences with professional makeup haven't been great (maybe those artists were relatively inexperienced with Asian faces). My hair also doesn't like to hold styles. I chose Grace Lin because their portfolio reflects a lot of Asian clients with a natural soft glam look that I've always admired. I booked hair and makeup for my engagement shoot as well as my wedding. Emailing with Grace was awesome. She's communicative, prompt, and kind, and organized everything. May was my artist for my engagement shoot, bridal trial, and wedding. She's gentle, efficient, and very highly skilled! Since I don't wear makeup, any changes to my face are very noticeable to me - textures, colors, everything. I wanted to look like an elevated or refined version of myself without going full on makeover. May's work was awesome. For my engagement shoot, I asked for a fluffy side braid and she delivered beautifully! I really liked the makeup and everything photographed well. Before my trial, Grace asked for my photographer's website so May could keep the photography style in mind while applying my makeup. This is such a wonderfully detail-oriented way to work! The trial went smoothly, I went to my first dress fitting right afterwards, and then had a meal. I checked my makeup after a few hours and realized that a matte finish would be better for me because the dewy/glowy finish adds an unflattering texture. My lashes also need extra security due to my monolids being so oily and heavy. I emailed Grace to give feedback and she was understanding and updated May to note the changes. On wedding day, May really delivered perfection. Lashes stayed in place, makeup was smooth and weightless with just the right amount of glam. I also had a floral headpiece that ended up being quite a bit bigger than I had originally anticipated, but May worked it into my hair effortlessly and securely. At the end of the night, my makeup hadn't budged and every strand of hair was still in place. I was so sad to undo everything! I cannot recommend Grace Lin and May enough. Their services are definitely luxury grade and worth every penny. read more

I booked services with Grace's group for both my baby shower and maternity shoot. I absolutely LOVED my makeup and hair for both days. Cece and May were my makeup artists. First, customer service was great! Grace is prompt in returning emails and takes care to answer all questions clearly. Cece and May were both professional and on time on the day of the event. Cece came to my home, but I went to the makeup studio to meet May because my shoot was near the studio. Unfortunately, I was the one who was very late on the day of my maternity shoot due to traffic, but May moved quickly and was able to achieve the look I wanted in the remaining time. (Sorry again, May!) Next, both makeup artists really took care to study the inspo pics and give me the look I wanted. I didn't ask for anything crazy - pretty typical soft Asian makeup look - but still! I loved the end results. Both artists had kind personalities and were lovely to work with. Everything was perfectly sanitary. I really had no complaints! Thank you all for making me feel beautiful on these special days! read more

Grace Lin was PERFECTION for my wedding day! I was going for a very timeless, neutral, and elegant look and she NAILED it! She made me feel soooo beautiful while still allowing myself to feel 100% myself on my big day! Grace Lin is kind, easy to communicate with, detail oriented, and highly skilled. I am so honored that she chose to be a part of my wedding - as she is based in Nor Cal BUT still chooses up to 5 weddings a year in So Cal to be a part of. Everyone at my wedding complimented how beautiful I looked, and I contribute a lot of that to Grace for completing my look with my dream dress! My hair stayed in place all throughout the night, despite all the dancing and moving around I did that day. My makeup was also impeccable, as she provided a touch up kit for me and even demonstrated to my 2 matrons of honor on how to reapply. We did the bridal hair and makeup at my hotel room in Intercontinental LA, where she brought 2 other artists (who did my bridesmaids and mom's make up). Grace also did my groom's hair and touch up and did an incredible job. He was very pleased and was even more handsome for our big day! If you are looking for an artist for your makeup and hair for your big day - LOOK NO FURTHER! Grace Lin is truly 5 STARS! We love you Grace! Thank you for letting me feel like true royalty on my big day read more

Working with Grace for my wedding day was an absolute dream from start to finish. From our very first meeting, her kindness and warmth put me completely at ease. The trial session was incredibly valuable. After trying the initial look at home, I realized I wanted something a bit softer. Grace welcomed my feedback and understood exactly what I meant. On the big day, she created the exact look I had in mind and I couldn't have been happier. I have oily skin, yet my makeup stayed fresh and shine-free from early morning until 2 AM. Even after many happy tears and dancing the night away, I checked the mirror and my makeup still looked flawless. My curls held up beautifully too, and I didn't need a single touch-up. Grace was equally amazing with my mom. My mom loved chatting with Grace, and Grace helped put her at ease (she was nervous for my wedding day!), and Grace made my mom feel much more comfortable. Thanks to Grace, both of us felt confident and beautiful on such an important day. I cannot recommend her highly enough! read more

My friend and I met Grace through booking an instructional class with her. As someone who knows very little about makeup and only applies it less than 5x a year, I was blown away and also thankful by the end of our 2+ hour lesson! We learned about the importance of skin prepping before application of makeup. With each step in the makeup application process, she explained the reason behind certain products and the color theory behind it (for example, what shades to use when hiding blemishes,) and how it applies to our personal skin tone. She was thorough in not only explaining what products we were using, but also the particular technique and brush used to apply it to our face. Grace was patient with us as she demonstrated the application on one side of our face, and had us reapply it to the other side to practice. It was a lot of information to process for someone not used to makeup application, but she sent us notes and a product list after the class. We were also encouraged to take our own notes and videos to review for later use. Aside from makeup, she is also skilled in bridal hair, and was kind enough to provide me with tips on how and when to cut my hair before my wedding. She even introduced me to a hair stylist she trusts and has been working with for quite some time. Overall, Grace has a warm, genuine, and kind hearted personality. But when you couple this with her beauty skills, technique, and style, then she becomes someone you want, and NEED, on your team for any major event you attend. I wholeheartedly recommend Grace to anyone *for the photo: We're not sure why the after photo came out so blurry, but you can still see the effect of the color correction (redness), natural highlights, improved shape of the eyebrows, lift of the eyeliner, and overall smoothing of the skin. I appreciate that she does not mask, but rather enhances the natural beauty of her clients read more

I found Grace Lin's makeup and hair studio through a friend's referral she used Grace's service previously for her wedding. Through Grace's referral, she assigned her master artist Olivia to me. Olivia is a very talented and very experienced artist who specializes in Asian makeup and hair. I booked the bridal package to get my hair and makeup done, and it did not disappoint. May did an amazing job, even during my trial session. I had no worries for my wedding day after my trial session because I had full confidence that May would make my hair and makeup look flawless. I've been meaning to write this review for years, and though life got in the way, my gratitude for Grace Lin Makeup and Hair Studio, especially for Grace and Halle, has never faded. Back in 2015, I had the most amazing experience with them for my bridal photo shoot. As someone who never wears makeup and has no clue how to style my hair, I was nervous about the process. But Halle worked absolute magic, transforming me so beautifully that even my own mother had to do a double take when she saw the final photos. She wasn't sure it was me until I showed her some candid shots Halle had taken on her phone as proof! From my very first trial session at the studio to the full-day shoot, Halle was phenomenal. She carefully matched my hair and makeup to the time of day, my three different dresses, and multiple locations, ensuring everything looked flawless in every setting. She spent the entire day with me, even joining us for dinner before making the late-night drive back to LA from San Diego. Her dedication and warmth made the experience even more special. Recently, I returned home after years of studying abroad and saw some of my bridal photos displayed at my in-laws' house. Seeing them brought back so many wonderful memories, and I felt compelled to finally write this review. Even after a decade, I'm still incredibly grateful for Grace and Halle's talent, kindness, and professionalism. I am so glad to have experienced their incredible skill and genuine care. I cannot recommend Grace and Halle enough, and I hope to have the opportunity to work with them, or anyone from Grace's talented team, for another special milestone in my life. read more

My neighbor was searching a makeup artist to do her makeup for her son's upcoming wedding. I heard about Grace Lin from my friend before and thought I could give Grace's link to my neighbor. When I was browsing through Grace Lin's website's gallery, I was amazed at how all the brides look so elegant and natural. Grace and her team's skills immediately won my heart. I am in my fifties and do not have major events coming up for a professional makeup need. However, I decided to take Grace's personal one-on-one makeup class just to experience what an amazing makeup artist have for me. I was at her studio in November, Grace patiently taught me how to do make up step by step and have it videoed with my cell phone for the future reference. I truly appreciate the personalized attention from Grace, especially thankful for her expert's picking of the colors for the foundation, concealer, eyebrow, eyeliner, brush and lipsticks. She took Chinese calligraphy when young and her skills on drawing eyeliner really reflects the art of the calligraphy. After her each demonstration, she made sure that I do it myself on the other side of my face for muscle memory. After the class, Grace sent me a thorough email of the step-by-step instructions and the links of the makeup she used in the class. It was a lovely experience and since then I started to draw eyeliner every day. Grace is always quick to respond to my questions. This is specifically for MAY: TLDR: experienced, professional, kind, patient, calming _________________________________ Where to start. Literally cannot say enough good things about her, but I'll break it down as best as I can. TRIAL SESSION: She was so kind and patient with me despite my tardiness. I'm not personally skilled at make-up, but I can tell she knew what she was doing. The level of detail was evident and she was able to efficiently figure out my preferences and how to really make me shine despite the lack of direction I gave her. She guided me through the whole process and provided me reassurance during my moments of uncertainty. In regards to my hair, she was able to give me those soft romantic effortless updo and curls that I really like. She gave me styling tips and suggestions on how I can improve the look of my hair for the day of my wedding. At the time, my hair was pretty untouched and she had suggested adding some color/highlights to really provide some contrast, which I'll discuss later. I have a lot of of hair that goes down to my waist, and in the past when i've gotten my hair done, it can look and feel too stiff/tight when I get an updo or half-up do. However, May was able to achieve flawlessly a neat, soft, effortless, and elegant up do for me. WEDDING DAY: Taking May's suggestion from my trial session, I had added highlights and color to my hair, and it sure made a difference The braided parts of my hair looked less flat and there was the illusion of textural contrast. For my make-up, I could not have been happier. As someone who's quite shy about my own appearances and find being the center of attention extremely uncomfortable, a picture is probably more telling. But she definitely gave me a boost in my confidence that day. Personally, what I loved most about my make-up that day was how light-weight it felt and how well it kept up throughout the night. I was running around the whole night, jumped around, and sweated, but still my make-up was intact after 15hrs. She also did a good job at minimizing the rosacea of mine and my husband's face. And did a great job making his eyebrows much more tamed. She also did a beautiful job on my mother's make-up! She is definitely not one to wear make-up, literally never wore foundation in her life. However, even she was able to tolerate and be very pleased in regards to her make-up. Really can't say enough wonderful things about May and hopefully the length of this review doesn't turn people away, but really couldn't be happier with May! She was worth every cent if not more. :) read more

Grace and her team did an incredible job for me, my 4 bridesmaids and my mom. I felt on top of the world on my wedding day and a big part of it was thanks to Grace and May. I was surprised how I could look with their talent. What they had to work with: I am Asian and have single eyelids with some creasing on the inner upper eyelid. My eyes are a bit droopy and on the smaller side. My eyelashes are long but straight, and they don't like to stay curled long. My face eats up makeup really fast. I have a lot of hair but the strands are thin and flat and gets oily quickly. What I wanted: transform my eyes so they didn't look sleepy/dead, have full long lasting coverage, and voluminous hair in a low bun. How they did it: their bridal package includes a trial session. Before we did the trial, Grace set up a virtual consultation to discuss the best type of make up to use and I was impressed but more importantly reassured that I was in good hands. May was my make up and hair artist. May also did the makeup for two of my bridesmaids. Rose worked on everyone's hair and Cece did makeup for 2 bridesmaids and my mom. Rose and Cece made my mom look so beautiful, I broke into tears when I saw her. I don't wear much makeup and especially false lashes. The way May applied them, I didn't feel burdened by them at all. The makeup lasted from 1pm to 2am and only needed minor touch ups. We used an airbrush foundation. My experience working with them: Grace Lin Makeup was on my bridesmaid's friend's wedding planner list of suggested vendors. I looked at 12 different make up artists/studios found through Yelp, Pinterest, Instagram, and word of mouth from friends before deciding to go with Grace Lin Makeup. I'm very cost conscious but trust me, they are worth it. Their make up style is typically soft glam and they try to preserve your natural look. Their portfolio had some very nice examples of clients with single eye lids. About 90% of their clients are Asian so they have a lot of experience dealing with Asian skin and hair. Grace was very responsive to my questions and never pushed me to book with her. She asked to see a picture of me to recommend a make up artist from her team who had the skills to create the look I wanted. May is so talented and great at what she does. Their experience and responsiveness had me feeling confident that I was in good hands the entire time. They were very open to feedback and found solutions specific to what I needed. When you're planning a wedding and have so much going on already, you want to be sure your makeup artist knows what they're doing and can make your vision come true. I'm so grateful for Grace and May. read more

Grace Lin Make Up and Hair Studio - Thank you May from Grace Lin Makeup for this look! - Makeup Artists Near Me - Pasadena, California

Grace's team is impeccable! We had Summer (makeup) and Tiffany (hair) supporting our group of 6, and they were so gracious with their time and expertise. They made all of us feel extremely at ease, and this ranged from my mom and sister, my sister in law, and my friends. I was hearing laughter throughout the getting ready timeframe, which made me so happy and thankful. They are true professionals that know their stuff. Summer worked comfortably across all different skin tones, and made everyone glowing!! Tiffany's hairstyles were flattering and stayed incredibly well throughout the night. I cannot speak more highly of Summer and Tiffany, you would be so lucky to have them as your glam squad!!!! read more

WOW! I decided to take a 1-1 lesson with Grace to learn how to put makeup on correctly for my face and she did wonders!! We spent 2 hours going over the proper skincare prep and then walked through each step of the makeup routine, step by step. She took the time to really explain what she was doing and then she watches you do it so she can correct your technique. She encourages you to record the session so you can go back and watch it later. She walked through skincare prep, color matching, and how to apply concealer, application, powder, bronzer, blush, highlighter, brows, liner, lashes, eyeshadow, mascara, lips and how to contour your face. I really wish I did this with Grace so long ago, but better late than never! She's also really responsive and quickly sent over links to all the products that you use so you don't have to guess. Thank you Grace!! read more

I followed Grace on instagram as I love her classy and elegant makeup style on her clients. I have been viewing many YouTube or IG tutorial videos, but I have never had an one-on-one makeup lesson by a professional makeup artist. Once I found out that Grace has a makeup lesson, I was very excited to book one with my friend for a birthday gift. Grace is amazing! She is kind, meticulous with every details, talented, and has calming energy. She spent more than two hours to go over step-by-step guide to makeup from skin prep to the final look. She gave recommendations on types of products and brushes to use and different types of techniques to apply. She applied makeup in one side of our face so that we could practice the other side of our face. She answered all of our questions. She encouraged us to write notes and to record these lessons to watch later. Later, she sent links to all products that we used. This is the most helpful, effective and useful way to learn about makeup from all ages. I highly recommend her without reservations! read more

I had such a great experience with Olivia and her team on my wedding day. They were professional and the end result was amazing! Their make up style is very natural and enhances the features. I had Olivia do my hair and make up for both my engagement photo shoot and my wedding day, and I highly recommend her! She was so kind and patient with me, and made sure I was satisfied with the final look without making me feel rushed at all. All my bridesmaids were very satisfied as well :) read more

Grace and her team are amazing!! Thank you so much for being part of our special day! It's such a great pleasure to work with Grace and her team. I found Grace from Instagram and reached out to her only two weeks before the wedding date to see if she had availability. I had some issues with my initially hired makeup artist so I was worried about finding another makeup artist. Grace was very responsive to email and message, and I was so lucky that Grace was available on my wedding day. Grace sent me the detailed wedding package for what would be included and what would not, which makeup artist work with whom in which location at what time. Grace did my makeup and hair, and May and Cece did two moms' and one bridesmaid's makeup and hair. As I did not have enough time left before the wedding day, I did not go through the makeup trail. Before the wedding day, Grace set up an initial meeting with me to go over my expectations and concerns. Hairstyle was one thing I worried the most as I have short hair but wanted to have hair buns. Grace understood my concern and kept me calm by offering me hair extension and hair sponge to make my hair look perfect and natural. As I had an early morning wedding ceremony, the make up sessions have to be started at 4am, we were so impressed that Grace and her team show up on time. The makeup turned out perfect and look exactly as I had hoped. I was also very satisfied with my hair as they look so natural and elegant. Grace prepared the touch up kit for me but honestly it was unnecessary as my makeup stayed perfectly well the entire day. Grace and her team have great taste on beauty. We got lots of compliments from our guests. I would also like to thanks Cece for her patience and outstanding service on my mother in law. My mother in law has sensitive skin and Cece worked patiently with her to make sure she was not allergic to the product and the fake eyelashes were placed comfortably. We cannot express how appreciative we are for everything your team did for us. We feel beyond grateful for their hard work, flexibility and accountability. Will definitely recommend Grace Lin Makeup to our family and friends. Thank you again for making our special day so beautiful! We appreciate your help in creating unforgettable moments that will last a lifetime. read more

I scheduled a makeup/hair session with Grace and her team for an engagement photoshoot session. Grace was very responsive via email and provided clear instructions about payment, how to prep my face/hair before the actual day, and checked in on my experience afterwards. My makeup artist was Amy and she was very meticulous and kind. She made sure that I got the results that I wanted and I was very appreciative of her attention to details. Sarah was my hairstylist and she was also very sweet and knowledgable about her line of work. She showed various examples of hairstyles and made some suggestions. In addition, she provided some feedback on how I can better take care of my hair since it's been dry. I thoroughly appreciate Grace and the team for being very professional and making this experience seamless. read more
