On the day of the wedding, I was honestly a little nervous because I didn't get the chance to try out the new hairstyle, but Kahn understood my vision and delivered exactly what I had asked for (which looked even better than I could've imagined). I truly have never felt so beautiful than on my wedding day, and it's all thanks to her! My only slight qualm with the service as a whole (and not Kahn's fault at all) was that there was a last-minute scheduling conflict and Kahn was unable to stay to do hair and makeup for the rest of the bridal party. However, the agency provided us with an additional HMU artist and offered to have Kahn come back during cocktail hour to do a free touch-up. I appreciate that they offered this concession, because it was great to have her touch up my makeup after shedding some tears at the ceremony. Kahn even offered to touch up the groom, and helped me with my outfit change during that time. The two additional makeup artists (Nikki and Madison) were also great- my mom was extremely happy with her makeup and said it was the best makeup service she's ever received. I had a few changes in my HMUA. I booked Kelly a few months prior to my wedding and decided to have a HMUA stay longer to assist with touchups. As for the service itself, I was nervous for HMUA because I don't wear too much make up and my trial with Kelly the day before my wedding at her studio in Pasadena. At the beginning, Kelly and I chatted about my skin and what I was looking for. I shared some inspo pics and she quickly grasped the ideas of what I was looking for. Kelly is not just a HMUA, but truly cares about those she works with. During my trial, she would checked in with me during the process - asking me if I was comfortable while working on my eyes. Furthermore, I had shared with her that my press-on nails were stressing me out (they kept popping off!) and Kelly immediately called her nail lady to see if she could squeeze me in for an appointment. Within 10 minutes, I was at the nail salon getting my nails done! The day of, Kelly and her team arrived earlier than expected. We had 4 bridesmaids + 2 moms scheduled for Kadet and Maddie. Many members of my bridal party had never gotten their hair & makeup done before; Kadet and Maddie were very skilled in understanding what each person was looking for and executing quickly. My party shared high praises for both! Since Kelly and I worked the day before, I had an idea on what to expect. We made a few tweaks the day of - the falsies kept bother my eyes and Kelly kept tweaking them until they were perfect and comfortable. I also initially wanted more blush and Kelly was willing to add more, but advised to just sit in the makeup before making any changes. She was right! After sitting with the makeup for a bit, the balance of it all felt perfect. It turned out perfect and what I wanted - fresh and natural and looking like myself. I had begun having wedding nightmares that I forgot to book someone and that my HMU was done etc. Enter Stephanie and AB. I am absolutely THRILLED that she was available. Stephanie was on MU and Michelle on hair. Stephanie is an absolute professional, she has SO much experience, not just in weddings, but other events. Given her experience and skill level, she really should not be as relatable as she is. My trial was wonderful, she really takes the brides feedback to heart. If you want full glam, she's got it. If you want natural, she's got it. If you have a specific lipstick shade you want, done. Michelle, on hair, was the same. She even did two separate looks on me because we had time and I had no idea what I wanted. I ended up doing a second hair trial because I was anxious and indecisive. I'm so glad I did because I was so so happy with my hair. During the wedding: They were flexible and brought the calmest energy. Mom LOVED her HMU. We had some things go wrong, nothing major, but we were tight on our schedule and they both pitched in to help with steaming the dress and playing bouncer in the brides suite. I had asked them to stay because we had the hottest weather and Stephanie realized that I didn't need to pay extra for two people and so only she stayed. It was really thoughtful. AB had already made me feel like family and not just client, but that gesture to be kind to my wallet was really touching. TLDR: Stephanie and Michelle are excellent at what they do. They communicated well before the wedding. AB is midpriced (from my vantage point), but massive value for money. They're conscientious, kind, and professional. They're skilled on young and more mature skin and hair. They're skilled on light and dark skin tones (we had white, southeast asian, and Korean). They do mens grooming. I'm thrilled I went with AB beauty for HMU.

From the moment I entered her studio for the trial, she made me feel so warm and welcome. The trial felt like a group project where you're the ideas person, and Christy just brings your vision to life. I started by sharing my makeup preferences and Pinterest boards, then Christy got to work! Starting off with the hair, Christy was such a perfectionist in getting every curl the fall exactly how it was pictured. She gave me different options about how slicked back and how the face framing pieces should fall. When we got to doing the makeup, Christy had a look at the inspiration photos and chose the colors that would suit my skin tone and features the best. She was meticulous about choosing the right individual lash lengths and choosing the right makeup technique for my hooded eyes. As someone who doesn't wear a lot of makeup day to day, she made the process so easy! When it came to the wedding day, Christy and her team were there bright and early, and made the getting ready portion so seamless. My MOH asked for a barely-there makeup look, and Christy executed her hair and makeup perfectly. Christy included a touchup kit, which was such a nice surprise. Hire Christy for your wedding day! I had some anxiety about my makeup because I wasn't exactly sure what I wanted, but she talked me through everything, made thoughtful recommendations, and made sure I felt comfortable every step of the way. Her professional expertise and obsessive attention to detail are truly invaluable! Not only is Christy insanely talented, but she also has a kind and genuine soul. Christy and her team were an absolute pleasure to work with. They made both my bridesmaids and me feel beautiful and confident, and I received so many compliments on my hair and makeup throughout the day. Most importantly, my makeup did NOT budge despite me ugly crying during my vows. That alone deserves 10/10!
