OMG you guys -- Kristie was one of the best decisions I have ever made in my life. I thought long and hard about choosing a good HMU artist for my wedding day. I found Kristie on Yelp, but I communicated with her via email at first. Then leading up to the wedding date, we were texting. I helped plan a wedding, and the bride decided to hire Kristie to take care of the mothers and the bridesmaids. Kristie courteously agreed even though she did mention she handles mostly brides. The location was outside of Temple City, so there was a travel fee. Leading up to the wedding, there was one hiccup that caused me so much anxiety. All the girls were asking me what time to show up, but I literally didn't have an answer because Kristie didn't tell me. She was busy and didn't give me the schedule until the night before the wedding. We were scheduled to start at 7 AM because there were 6 of us, but only two people are getting worked on at a time. Annie was so professional with my in-home bridal hair and make-up appointment. She came on time, did my hair and make-up the way I requested it. Natural glam make-up and fairy hairstyle. I was very disappointed with Kristie's services for my wedding day. First, she arrived late and was very slow. She was so delayed that my entire day of schedule got messed up and I had to skip a lot of photos with my photographer. She was so rushed doing my hair that she did a very sloppy job. My bangs kept separating into two very ugly chunks throughout the day. I did two trials, and really loved my hair in the second trial. I had the pleasure of working with Kristie twice- for my wedding ceremony and then for the reception a few months later. (She even worked on her birthday for my event!) I had also booked her and her makeup assistant for mothers-of-bride-and-groom makeup and groom hair/makeup. She worked on the hair and makeup for me and my husband while her assistant worked on our mothers. Because my mother only spoke Chinese, it was important to me to find someone who could speak the language so that my mom could communicate comfortably what she wanted. Kristie was able to speak both Mandarin and Cantonese fluently, and so was the assistant she brought with her. Meanwhile, my husband had long curly hair and needed some styling, though he didn't know what look he wanted. She cleaned up his look, mattified his T-zone, and made him look sharp for the wedding photos. The communication and booking process was very straightforward and efficient. Kristie was responsive and gave a lot of good insight throughout the process. I also highly recommend booking a makeup trial with her before your wedding and bringing your wedding jewelry/hair accessories with you (maybe on the day you take engagement photos or before on a day you plan on going out, to see how the makeup sits on you over time). This way, you can make any adjustments you need, and you know exactly what you want on your wedding day, with no surprises. I love the look Kristie created for me. After listening attentively to my ideas and what details I cared about and what general vibe I was going for, she was able to create a look that was exactly what I wanted that would suit both my traditional tea ceremony attire and wedding ceremony attire.
