A couple of days passed and I had yet to receive a call back. After not hearing back from them, I phoned them again, and this time got the contractors phone instead of the office phone. There was a pleasant message telling me to phone the office if I wanted to schedule a quote. I then phoned the office and left another message. This time I got a phone call back from Susan. I was told that Jaime (the contractor) was all booked up until September, and I said that fine as there isn't a rush on the job. She began asking me if I wanted to schedule an appointment for a quote, but then she back peddled and said, "Can you call back in September?" I was really taken aback by this, and told her this seemed to be a repeat of a review that I read on a social media site. If you're in the market for a contractor in the Sacramento area from July 2014 - September 2014, DON'T call this contractor as he is all booked up and wont give you the time of day! Response to comment from business owner; Thank you for your response to my review of your business. Please allow me to reiterate some of my review and more clearly state my thoughts about my interactions with Purdy Construction. Getting back to a customer in a timely manner: Business standard is to return a phone call within 24 hours, especially when you have a dedicated person (Susan) taking business calls. I waited 72 hours before phoning again. Since there is another review about not responding to a customer inquiry, it sounds like this has been a previous issue. Time frame for project start: As I stated in my review, it is not a rush job and I was fine with the project starting in September. I am completely happy with your availability. Asking ME to phone back in September for a quote: This is what I have an issue with. As a customer, the business should take the responsibility in getting back to a client, or potential client, not the client. My information should've been taken down and a quote taken within a couple of weeks (my hours are flexible and would've been happy to work around your full schedule), and not start the project until September. Never the less, I have already lined up a quote from another contractor. If I accept the bid, the project will not start until late August/ early September, which is perfectly fine with me. I was not able to stay for the entire install as I had to leave for work. When I got home not only was everything in place and working perfect but all cleaned up - it was like he was never there! With the exception of the beautiful new items, of course. My grandma said everything had gone really well while I was gone. We have had bad experiences with contractors in the past leaving garbage, debris, unfinished work, or just doing an overall sketchy job. Jamie is friendly, honest and efficient. We will definitely be contacting him next time we need work done.

I called and spoke with Ed about it still expecting he might tell me he couldn't/wouldn't help. He was so kind and understanding and I know he didn't even have the files from that far back. He said he would send someone out to take a look and sure enough he stood by his workmanship and his electrician took care of everything. The windows look great. They are absolutely perfect, and cheap. Bad things second. They were done about a week after they said they would be done. They also broke the BRAND NEW GRANITE in the house and didn't offer to fix it. After asking them numerous times for a final bill (because I am trying to flip the house I am not going to stiff them) they threatened to put a lien on this house. I honestly must say that their owner is possibly the worst business man I have ever dealt with, and I would never ever consider doing business with him again. Just in general a person I would never ever consider doing business with or talking to again.
