    The panko fried chicken burger!
    Yassar A.

Been here tonnes of times! Great place. Great atmosphere. Great burgers. Chunky chips are a must (better than the skinny chips) and every dipping sauce is essential too (favourites include the siracha mayo & the garlic mayo). Love the homeslaw as well. Maybe a little on the pricey side but the burgers make up for it all day. The panko fried chicken burger is Halal. The rest are not. Plus the GBK app is great too (free sides, dips etc).

I think this was called the Taxi Driver. SO good

Bluegrass - Smoked Chicken Quarter and Sweet Potato Fries

We were on vacation from the States and wanted to try a little taste from back home so we decided…read moreto try Bluegrass for lunch on the last day of our trip to the wonderful UK. I ordered a basic lunch of the smoked chicken quarter and sweet potato fries. It was delicious, if I'd closed my eyes it could have been one of the better BBQ restaurants back home! The chicken was tender, with a nice smoked flavor that was noticeable but not overpowering the chicken. The sweet potato fries were among the best. Usually sweet potato fries tend to be a bit on the soft side with no crunch. These were scrumptious with a little crunch on the outside and soft and steamy inside. Yum! The slaw was also a hit with me. The dressing was a bit different than what I'm used to, but I couldn't figure out why. Nonetheless, it was a vinegar base that went well with the chicken and had a nice jalapeño kick to it! The sauces were good, I tried them all, but the chicken didn't really need any sauce. I will note that the mustard based sauce was unlike any I've tried but I am not fond of mustard base sauces to start with so I've not tried many. The service was good, our server was pleasant and it was nice enjoying BBQ in a rustic pub atmosphere. My only complaints are the slaw serving was a bit small. It was just the right amount to put on a sandwich but to me it wasn't enough for a side; and part of the chicken breast was just a wee bit on the dry side, but not enough to really detract from the meal or make the chicken tough. I've smoked enough chicken to know that chicken breast can go from moist and juicy to cardboard pretty quickly so timing can be very tough. Overall I found the meal delicious with some great smoked chicken and superb sweet potato fries! If we're ever back in the area I'll be back here for a meal!

I also found the restaurant name very catchy, "Meat at the Parish." Well we came back, and I ordered that fish and it was as delicious tasting as it was delicious looking :) Very friendly staff, space was very charming - a lot of warmth all around. Menu is steak and fish. (Note - this review is for a visit in April 2017.) WHOLE GRILLED SEA BREAM - £14.95 Very good, fish was meaty. No sides included. SIDE CAESAR SALAD - £4 Small but perfect salad - bacon and anchovies were a bonus. Housemade dressing. BLOOMING ONION APPETIZER Just ok - my colleague ordered this. She ordered the "Baked Cod w/ Pearl Onions" for her dinner and enjoyed it very much. CHOCOLATE SUNDAE - £6 Colleague ordered this - brownie was good but not warm, and the ice cream was melted b/c they served the dessert on a warm dish :( Our server did encourage us to order the Honey Walnut Cake - we probably should've followed his recommendation. Overall, the service really stood out esp. from the owners. And while normally I like to try different things on the menu, I would order that fish again in a heartbeat. FYI total bill includes 12.5% gratuity.

Staff were extremely friendly as we made our way to the outside eating area (a nice touch on a hot summers day) and were told to order our food and drinks at the counter. They don't serve alcohol, which can be a blessing when not wanting to pay London prices for a quick beer with the meal. The menu is not loaded with choices, which usually means a simple selection done very well ans this place is no exception. After visiting a number of burger places in Central, you get used to ordering fries as an extra, but here they are included in the (very reasonable) price. We chose the veg burger with a side of onion rings, and the presentation was very American diner-esque (all food served in little baskets). The rings were massive and served piping hot. Burgers were great and served on a lovely fresh bun, with rustic fries on the side. The Oreo milkshake was fantastic and reasonably priced. £21 for two burgers, shakes, and a side to share is fantastic value for money and we will definitely be visiting again. For meat eaters out there, they also do three food challenges in a Man-v-food stylie so I'm sure it'll attract some of you big eaters out there.

The service was passable if assessed using a checklist. Polite at the register? Check. Offered a cup carrier? Check! But, and here is why this is the worst Five Guys experiences ever, after I ordered and sat down (one of only two customers) they turned turned the music from "unnecessarily loud" to "eardrum damaging". Quite literally! I have a decibel meter on my phone, and the level was above 110...louder than a nightclub. It drove me from the restaurant into a plaza taking my "dine in" food to eat with the pigeons and those smoking on plaza benches. My left ear has been hurting the rest of the afternoon. This is my first time I have been audibly harmed while in a restaurant...simply awful!

I love a five guys burger, I even just love watching them make the things, there's some real artistry at work. I've only had one no so perfect experience here and that was when they decided to only cook a hot dog on one side - so it was edible but a bit cool. I watched them make one for someone else on the most recent trip and that bad occasion must have been a one off thankfully. The burgers are total customisation - just get how much or little you want on them. Oh and the soda machines are the best ones in the country! Free refills too. Sure it's a bit pricy for burgers and fries - but when they're this good it isn't a surprise that it is so busy.
