First thing is first, make a reservation before coming and try to come at the time they open in the morning rather than later so you don't have to worry about the rush that comes between noon-1pm. They open at 11am. I loved the bingo in between music and the DJ really had us rocking. There's plenty of free street parking in the area on Sundays. Overall the service was fine but they took quite a while just to bring our food and we were the first ones there. Our server was nice but when it got busy he did not come around and I had to flag someone to get him. Now let's get into the food: Catfish - 5/5 Steak - 3/5: great flavor but thin & a little fatty Red velvet waffles - 4/5 Eggs - 5/5 Biscuits - 5/5 Beignet Doughnuts - 5/5 Gumbo 5/5: I just wish there was more protein, there was one sausage in my bowl.

When we walked into Gotti's, the vibe shifted to "quaint but cool," the kind of spot you low-key root for as soon as you sit down. Now, do I wish they had a real bar? Yes, because I am a bar-girl at heart. But the service-area bar came through for us anyway, and it turned into VIP seating to watch everything behind the scenes. They had Tuesday specials going, so we grabbed Espolòn Blanco shots -- one with salt, one with sugar. And here's the kicker: Their salt is colored blue. Most places color the sugar. Gotti's understood the assignment but rewrote it. Shoutout to the crew because service was tight: Angela -- the manager holding it all together. Daphne -- light-skinned with red hair, made our shots with love and wrist action. Zoe -- bun high, checkout smooth, no notes. They were ready for us to take the shot, so I had to stop talking mid-sentence -- priorities.

This place was a complete vibe, especially after the disaster I just experienced in Chicago. The music was blasting, TVs were on and smiles on all the faces at every table even at 1140 damn near closing time. Everyone was super friendly and the food....i had catfish and Mac and cheese with crawfish and my spouse had an impossible burger, everything was really good! I appreciate y'all making good food until you close you had no idea how amazing it was after the day we had. Highly recommend, for good food and good vibes. ***don't mind my picture I tore into it

I've been here twice now, and I must say I truly enjoyed the food. Everything we've ordered the flavor was on point, and the drinks are divine. We've tried their multi - flavored mimosas and other cocktail drinks. The service is always great, and the music will definitely put you in a party mood. The whole area is really a one stop shop for all things fun - I could truly see a restaurant/pub crawl event. ;)

Stopped in for a late night happy hour not expecting much but my friend and I were blown away by how great and tasty the food was! Our waitress Daphne was also exceptional and very attentive despite being the only waiter on staff. Already planning to come back to try more drinks, the entrees/rest of the menu.

Gotti's is a nice choice if you're looking for good food, drinks, and a lively vibe for brunch in Houston. I have gone twice now (once for dinner and brunch) and enjoyed myself each time. One thing to note, even with a reservation, you still may have to wait a bit to be seated. Our reservation was for 2:30 pm and we were not seated until 3 pm due to a large party ahead of us. It wasn't the worst thing, we used the time to look over the menu, but at the same time there isn't much of a waiting area inside so you'll likely be in the way of a lot of the in and out traffic. There also really isn't a bar area, so it was maybe 4-5 parties all bunched up near the front. Once seated, the atmosphere is very upbeat and fun which is great for a brunch where you want the vibes but maybe not the large crowd of people. It can get very loud, though, as there is a DJ and an MC on the mic. They both add to the energy, but I found myself practically shouting to talk to my two friends at a four-top table. They also had a segment where they gave out free shots which is cool, they've done this both times I was there. I'd recommend you to know what you want when you sit down, because even though that was our strategy we still ended up waiting another 30 minutes for even our mimosa tower to come to the table. We also ordered hot lemon pepper wings, beignet bites, and Cajun balls. Actually, received a second complimentary order of the beignet bites due to the wait which was appreciated. We all ordered the fried catfish, shrimp, and grits with an order of collard greens on the side. FIRE. Parking is another minor (or major) inconvenience but it's due to the location. Very typical for Houston, different lots charge different prices for parking especially when there are events going on, so you may drop about $20-30 before you even get to the door. Give yourself a little extra time to figure that part out. Overall, Gotti's brunch is worth the visit if you're looking for great food, good drinks, and a high energy vibe. Just know it might come with a bit of a wait and a lot of noise.

My friends and I came to Houston for spring break and we were looking for a fun brunch spot. Gotti's came highly recommended and we definitely had to try them out. We had a 10/10 experience. The food and the vibes we had were top tier. Our waitress was great, she gave her recommendations and help us navigate through the menu. The DJ was playing all the best music creating a fun atmosphere. The Red Velvet waffles and chicken were amazing! The softness of the waffle paired well with the juicy crunchy chicken wings. I love how they gave us actual chicken wings versus how most places give chicken tenders. All in all if I'm back in Houston, Gotti's is number one on my list to visit again.

MAKE A RESERVATION OR YOU WILL BE WAITING! I was in town for AfroTech 2024 and, of course, had to check out a brunch spot. I asked my friend who lives there for a recommendation, and she told me that Gotti's was the perfect place for brunch--and she was absolutely right! Parking wasn't the easiest; I recommend taking a rideshare or carpooling since it's mostly street parking in the area. Once inside, I found the restaurant to be quaint and cozy, creating an inviting atmosphere. The waitress was incredibly kind and helpful, making the experience even better. I have to say, the crab cakes at Gotti's were the best I've ever had! They were the perfect combination of crispy on the outside and soft on the inside--absolutely divine. We loved them so much that we ordered a second round, and they came out just as perfectly cooked as the first. It's clear that the quality at Gotti's is consistently outstanding. Indulging in their exquisite duo of lump crab cakes was a culinary experience like no other. Each bite was bursting with succulent crab meat, delicately seasoned, and drizzled in a delightful Cajun sauce. I truly savored the richness of every mouthful. If you're a crab cake lover, this is a must-try! The mac & cheese was absolutely delicious! The creamy, decadent cheese sauce enveloped perfectly cooked noodles that had just the right amount of bite. Each forkful was a delightful blend of rich, velvety goodness, creating a comforting dish that was incredibly satisfying. The flavors blended harmoniously, making it hard to resist going back for more. It's the kind of mac & cheese that warms your soul and leaves you craving another helping! The waffle was unfortunately disappointing; it gave off a frozen, microwave vibe instead of the fresh, homemade quality I was hoping for. I was also a bit let down that the chicken wings came separately and not attached, but I have to give credit where it's due--the chicken itself was delicious. The scrambled eggs were decent but not exactly my style. They were fluffy and cooked well, yet they just didn't hit the mark for me personally. As for the breakfast potatoes, they left something to be desired. They were quite thick and had more of a wedge vibe than what I typically expect from breakfast potatoes. They also lacked seasoning and crispiness, so I wouldn't order them again. Overall, my experience was good, but I doubt I'd go back. The vibe of the place felt too much like a breakfast club, and the music was so loud that my friends and I struggled to hold a conversation. It was challenging to engage with each other, and even the waitress was hard to hear. When we finally left, we felt a sense of relief to escape the overwhelming noise. I understand they want to create a fun brunch atmosphere, but it crossed the line into an environment where communication felt almost impossible. It's a shame, as I was looking forward to a great meal and time with friends!

Sunday Funday with the girls! Reservations are a must because this place is jumpin! Great atmosphere. Decent food. Service was only okay due to long wait times. I tried the shrimp and grits with waffles (because breakfast is meant to be sweet & savory). We got a mimosa tower because why not? Saturday night at 6 pm. Be advised music is LOUD. Not upset by it, just did not know it would be like this. Gumbo - shut the hell up, because this was LIT. Roux absolutely perfect, bold, great flavor. Boudin balls - YUM....could have eaten all 3 of these, hated to share. Catfish bites - seasoning was super, only downside was fish was a little tough, maybe fried too long? Service was excellent. Will be back to try some of the entrees, they ALL sound amazing!

Ordered to-go via Uber Eats. I was in the mood to eat some gumbo so I decided to try theirs. It's $20 for a large Big Daddy bowl (high protein) that's supposed to have chicken, shrimp, crawfish, and sausage. I ordered it with white rice. I was very disappointed when it came. The container probably was not secured properly and it fell during transport. So the gumbo was all over the bottom of the bag. I managed to salvage a little of it that wasn't completely out of the container. I expected for the gumbo and rice to be separate. It was together and it was a lot of rice. So I feel like there barely was any gumbo. It also was full of chicken and sausage. I didn't see any shrimp or crawfish. On top of all that, it was a tad too salty. Hubby ordered the burger only because it was buy one get one free. Otherwise it would not be worth getting only a burger with no sides that come with it for $13 dollars. They also did not put all the condiments he requested on it.

First time exploring Houston. After a day of interrupted flights, exhausted all we wanted was a decent meal. The online menu appealed to us so we stopped in. The paper menu was very hard to read because it was very worn and small print. We were greeted and seated immediately. The music was extremely loud and you had to yell to be heard. I ended up with a slight headache. We ordered catfish shrimp over rice with gotti sauce on the side. This was perfect and plated very well. We had a cup of spicy seafood cajun rice but had to send it back because it was toooo spicy for my palate. Ordered grilled shrimp with mac and cheese. It took a little while for it to come out but it was satisfying! This is a nice place for a younger generation to enjoy. Not so much for the over 60 crowd. Overall.. the food was not disappointing.

Well, this is a great place for a weekend brunch for the girls or group of friends. This is not a kid friendly place. Visited on a Saturday with my sister and my 2 sons (11 and 4). There is no kid's menu. So you can imagine the demographic that they cater to. Walked in at noon and was immediately seated. They have brunch hours and have a limited menu available during this time. Ordered the catfish and grits and red velvet waffles and chicken. My sis got the lamb chops. The lamb chops were small. They must have gotten those off a baby lamb. I must admit that the food was flavorful. They were seasoned well. The grits would have gone over well too had they not been cold. Gotti's is the epitome of everything being right all at once (insert heart emoji)! We saw some images on Instagram, and thought we would see what the real deal was about! We were not disappointed. Everything was flowing in abundance--food amazing, music bumping, hookah going, and drinks pouring. I had the shrimp and grits, which was pretty delicious. It's not the biggest portion of shrimp and grits, but filling. I left nothing in my bowl, but the shrimp tails. My friend had the chicken and waffles--and he gave the dish a stellar review.. When we talk about abundance and overflow, we also had a mango mimosa tower--This place is on the smaller side, but feels cozy rather than packed. The service was pretty good. Wow. I'm from Pennsylvania here on business. Love small places with cool ambiance. Wait staff was great! Food was delicious.I avoid chains and get rewarded with gems like this. Gumbo was so flavorful, my seafood rice with blackened shrimp was tasty and the creole sauce on top was amazing! But.....star of the show HAD to be the beignets !! WHOA! Got them to go last minute- I'm not a big sweet tooth but glad I got them. Dare I say better than cafe du Monde on nawlins? So I really wanted to love this place but it let me down on several points. 1st of all, the parking situation is the worst. The lots around there are like $20-30. There is limited street parking for cheaper but someone was breaking into cars. The place is small, the lights are low/flashing and the music is so loud you can barely hear yourself talk. The food was decent but the portions are small. The beignets are more like donuts. The mimosas are just ok. The orange juice and pineapple ones are the only ones with real juice fyi. They are only serving a limited menu for brunch so many of the items on the menu online aren't offered. And the QR code at the table is the wrong menu too. Our waiter was good and gave us good service. He improved our visit. read more

Came here 3 times prior food is always decent, service is slow. Took them about 7 mins to seat us. They charged us 2 gratuity!! Our total was only $90 they added an extra $55 and claimed we had to pay 2 gratuity this time. I've never paid this anywhere it was honestly disappointing. The drinks were nasty and $20 a martini. Don't recommend unless you want to over pay for food read more

Although it was hot when we walked in, I gave Gotti's the benefit of the doubt. I shouldn't have. Fix your A/C! Black folks don't like being hot. Honestly, as soon as I saw the portions, I was disappointed and had immediately decided that I'd never visit this place again. I paid $42 for 3 skimpy lamb chops. I needed the lamb from the daddy, not the newborn, for that price. My grits were cold, which is crazy because grits are literally one food that holds heat for a long time. My party's fish was hot so I know that my food must've been sitting to the side. The food is terribly overpriced. Flavors - good. Portions - skimpy. Price - robbery. The food came out fast. We beat the brunch rush. Not sure how this review would have gone had we been there in the midst of that rush. This review would've been a -2, probably. The waiter didn't come back around after we got our food. As a Black owned establishment, I'm disappointed but not surprised. read more

I was sooo excited to finally make it here because it's been on my list for a minute. I don't frequent downtown resturants because I hate searching for parking. However, we were able to walk from the convention center. When we walked in, we stood there for a few minutes before being acknowledged. We looked at them...they looked at us...and finally made there way over. We were seated and it took a minute to be asked for our drinks. We could clearly see they were lightly staffed and that lots of customers had empty tables still, but we still took a chance. We ordered drinks. The sidecar tasted more like orange juice. A friend had a martini that was too sweet so she sent it back and got wine. The wine glass had lipstick on it. The manager went to change the glass, but she never made it back. Another friend had brown stuff in her sprite so she only felt safe with bottled water. We patiently wait for our food as the 1 chef in the kitchen moves at what seems to be a slow pace. We literally watch people leave without getting their food. A hour and a half passes and we finally get food! And then it's Luke warm. We were sooo disappointed. The egg rolls were good. Once I got home and microwaved it, my grilled fish and shrimp were good. The fish and grits looked like a small plate. Yall know I love my BOB's...but this one was very disappointing. And on top of all things...I forgot to check in real time and today I see I could have got 15% off from yelp!!! read more

This was our second time dining at Gotti's, and we attended for their Tacos and Crab Legs Tuesdays. Our experience was fantastic, largely due to our wonderful waiter, Maj. He was incredibly engaging, attentive to our needs, always friendly and professional. Maj made sure we had everything we needed and added a personal touch that made our visit even more enjoyable. I stopped by after attending a Concert at warehouse live and was blown away at the relaxing atmosphere and food! Their Cajun eggrolls were amazing and the gumbo! i highly recommend this place and it has the best food in EADO, you must try it! margaritas and hookah was great also!! read more

PROS: So first and foremost the atmosphere definitely have a turn up vibe which I certainly appreciate. That's the only pro to this place CONS: EVERYTHING. The server isn't very attentive. The 1hr I was sitting in the restaurant I may have seen my server about 5 times. The food took about 20 mins to arrive even thou it wasn't even busy maybe about a handful of people. The guy who was delivering the food was very confused where the food goes and brought my food to a different table TWICE!! Eventually when I finally received my food which was supposed to be fried lobster and seafood rice. I got a plate that had a small piece of lobster and the rice was just dirty rice with ground meat. The server failed to inform me that there was no chicken, shrimp and crawfish for this Entree. With all of this occurring not once did the manager nor did the server say I apologize and didn't compliment the meal at all. With 2 entrees and 2 drinks I paid $80!!!!. Never again. Also I notice 2 groups leave without ordering. Don't waste your money here. read more

The food is okay, but more fit for club/lounge experience. My favorite was the Cajun beignets tho. I got an order of 2( not pictured). I also had the blackened fish and shrimp over dirty rice. It was a nice portion and it's served with sweet hush puppies and a piece of sweet jalapeño bread drizzled with honey butter. I'd rate it a solid 3.5./5. The music and vibe is cool if you just want to come chill and have drinks and appetizers. I can wouldn't say it's a place to have dinner, but they do offer plenty of food options. I'd definitely go back and try something different. I heard the pasta is good with shrimp added. The staff is really nice and attentive as well. Good place to get happy hour or brunch perhaps. read more

The pictures look promising but so disappointed. I ordered on Uber eats and paid for over $50 and none of it was worth it. The crab cake was something that could have come from the frozen food section. The diced potatoes with Cajun seasoning was pitiful, the jumbo wings had feathers still on it. The mac and cheese was missing the bacon i added. And I was missing the broccolini that I ordered. Food was lackluster and overpriced. read more

The only thing that I will say nice about this place is the fact that it has a great atmosphere. On the other hand, I firmly believe that you can get better and bigger portions from other places no less than 5 minutes from here. There is no reason why you guys should be charging the "Colossal Shrimp Platter" for around $28 dollars, to receive a spoonful of rice and six pieces of fried shrimp, with four pieces of hushpuppies (another $4 to add seafood rice which I didn't even get.. plus another $2 for the "Gotti" sauce. Get real please. If yall already charging that amount I'm expecting that to come with it.) When it finally came out, the only thing that was warm.. not even hot.. WARM.. was the shrimp. Cold rice. Cold hushpuppies. It's honestly sad. On top of that, it took about an hour and a half to cook this. Now I do not know what's going on behind the scenes but whenever there's barely anyone inside of the restaurant and it takes you that long to cook something like that, then charge a blasphemous price, that's completely insane to me. A big thank you to the worker to whomever asked me what I was having because after getting countless of "they're working on it" and it's "almost ready" after every 15 minutes, it finally came out whenever she took action. In summary, basically if you wanna starve while getting robbed at the same time, go ahead and eat here. You gonna be spending a whole lot for nothing. Trust me. There are way better places than this to dine at. For the love of God I hope y'all make changes soon. read more

Food was pretty good. I had the wings and truffle fries. The beignets were tasty the sauce taste almost like melted ice cream. The service was great for the circumstances. The host was polite and accommodating. I happen to come in on a Monday and that open mic night??? Brought me life. It felt like a family gathering, entertaining and fun. When going here very much consider the ambiance, the wait time for your food and drinks is horrendous for mediocre food you can purchase at any other brunch spot. The servers are not friendly, and to be honest not worth a tip. The dj is good however the volume of the music is crazy, very much hard to order or get waitress attention because it's a club like ambiance. If you're looking to spend 2+ hours here because you're waiting on food go ahead. read more

I've ordered delivery 3x so far. The red velvet waffles were good. I really like the grits they were . The bacon was ok very thin. Chicken tenders and fries were good as well. I didn't get the sauce i asked for so I can't review that. Fries can be cooked a lil bit longer. Today i ordered the brisket fries and issa big no. In texas it is unacceptable to serve a dish with that chewy covered in sauce brisket you buy in them lil tubs at walmart. Istg that exactly what it reminded me of. We in houston please find a bbq spot to procure your brisket from if yall ain't gonna in house cause this was terrible. The punch was very peachy which I don't personally like, but my boyfriend loved. The Get Me Right got me RIGHT Service was a little slow, but we had plenty of time so it wasn't a big deal. I ordered the Blackened Shrimp meal with dirty rice and HOLY SMOKES. It was delicious! Portion size was just right. My boyfriend got the crab cakes (which was just one cake) and the gumbo add shrimp. Gotti’s was founded in 2021 by Irv “Gotti” Williams, a native Houstonian and entrepreneur from Third Ward (Houston, Texas). In a family filled with culinary excellence, Irv’s love for Creole & Cajun food came naturally and heavily influenced the tastes you will experience at Gotti’s. Irv’s parents are third-generation Houstonians with ancestry and heritage from Louisiana. Irv attended Texas Southern University and was actively involved in the Jessie H. Jones School of Business, where he networked and built relationships with local business leaders. While utilizing his advanced computer and programming skills, Irv began to thrive around campus and affectionately gained the nickname “Irv Gotti”. Absolutely horrible experience at Gotti's! I recently visited with my family to celebrate, but what should've been a pleasant outing turned into a complete disaster. First off, we had a large group and were seated separately. We waited for a solid 10 minutes before anyone even acknowledged our presence, despite waitstaff walking by us multiple times. Once we finally got menus and ordered drinks, things only went downhill from there. I suddenly felt a mist on my face. To my horror, it quickly turned into drips of water streaming down my back and soaking into the bench. It turned out the AC was leaking directly onto me! My shirt, hair, and back were completely damp. When I flagged down the waiter and asked to cancel my order, he said he had to check with the manager--unbelievable! I was very clear that I should not be charged for anything, given that I had been made uncomfortable and wet due to a broken AC unit. He then proceeded to take pictures of the AC and still showed no remorse for what I had been through. My hair was ruined, my back was soaked, and my drink probably had AC residue inside. What's even worse is that the AC wasn't just leaking on me--it was dripping into people's food behind me too! This is beyond unsanitary, and frankly, it's a health hazard. I'm shocked that no one seemed concerned about the potential contamination. The health inspector really needs to pay a visit here. To make matters worse, the waiter tried to brush it off, even suggesting that the water might have come from a bar fight earlier. Seriously? No apology, no offer to fix the situation, and no compensation for my drinks, which were charged at $23 for a service fee and tip that had already been added! Completely ridiculous and unprofessional. There was no empathy, no effort to make things right, and frankly, the entire experience was unsanitary and uncomfortable. I would never recommend Gotti's to anyone. Terrible service, disgusting HEALTH conditions, and a total lack of concern for customers! Avoid this place at all cost. read more

My experience at Gotti's was regrettably subpar, marked by several disappointments. Despite reserving a week in advance due to a previous seating issue, our visit encountered further hurdles. Upon arriving at 1:30 for our reservation, we were informed of a 20-minute wait for table preparation, to which we agreed. However, another sizable group with a later reservation was seated ahead of us. Seeking clarification from the hostess, we were initially assured our table was being prepared, only to later discover they were struggling to find a suitable spot for us. By 2:35 pm, still waiting, the hostess was nowhere to be found. A group of girls walked in and, based on their appearance, were promptly seated after a waitress escorted them. Upon finally encountering the hostess, we expressed our concerns, and she directed us to a booth on the wall. Unfortunately, our disappointment deepened as another group, seemingly favored, occupied the initially promised booth. Despite the hostess's attempt to rectify the situation, the dismissive attitude of the waitress added to our frustration. Gotti's preference for certain customers for aesthetic reasons, at the expense of honoring reservations, left us with no option but to leave. The overall experience was not only discourteous but also conveyed a sense of TACKINESS. read more

Me my sister and my 70yo dad were in the area and staving so we decided gottis. I wasn't aware of the environment but we walked in and I laughed. loud music and lights. BUT we had a great time and is more for my friends and I. All the reviews add up. Food was great we got the truffle wings and seafood bundle with 1/2 crab 1/2 shrimp. personally I thought was gas and dad got the gottis pasta. no bottle service for us sadly. The serve we had was actually the manager Brandon. He was super attentive, we had a table of about 13 people and everyone enjoyed themselves. The vibe/atmosphere was great played all types of music and there was also a photographer taking pictures. Definitely a great experience and will definitely be back for the actual full brunch menu. The food had so much flavor not over powering. I had got the Lamb Chops w/ Grits and it was a perfect combo. read more

We searched online for a good place to eat and this came up . I was excited to try it out but I should've read the reviews beforehand . This is a black business and will discriminate on white colored people. This place needs to have better management. This place is okay. It is kinda small in the establishment. It definitely could be more menu options for brunch. Music is loud and you can barely hold a conversation with anyone. I did order the fish and grits it was good the only thing is it came in like 5 mins and that made me question the was the food just sitting out and not being made to order. read more

The Food, Customer Service, and Atmosphere was truly Awesome. We were greeted with smiles and seated promptly. I ordered the Catfish/Shrimp Platter w/Rice and my kids ordered the Egg Rolls, Gotti Rice, Chicken Tenders, and Waffle Fries. The food was Simply Amazing and Cooked to Perfection. If I could give this place 10 stars I would. Came in today without a reservation and I was surprised I was able to be accommodated. Jada the host was very quick with seating me. I had monet as a server and she was very knowledgeable with the menu and recommended the shrimp & grits which were 10/10!! I'll definitely be back!! read more

Frustrated The food tasted great!! I ordered the chicken tenders which were already $10 then added the waffle fries for an additional $4 but I didn't get my waffle fries. Fried pickles were super thin. With how much everything cost I was expecting larger portions of food. Would love to give it a second chance to do better. read more

Looking for something quick, no one in the group had tried it. BEST DECISION EVER! Great Cajun styled food. Couple of people got the burger said it was juicy, anything with boudin was amazing and fried shrimp was crispy and full of flavor. Our server Johnny was awesome! 10/10 will be back!! read more
