There's a reason Gotcha Covered has five-star reviews! We interviewed four roofing companies who we found on Yelp and Nextdoor. Three of the bids were around the same price. The fourth was way more than the other three so we threw that one out. (They used a salesman so his commission played into the pricing). Robert provides a prompt reply to our inquiry regarding roof repairs caused by improper rain gutter installation. After a detailed conversation, he arranged an in-person, no obligation estimate and provided an estimate within 24 hours. The project: removal/cutting of the decorative rafter tails and the installation of new fascia boards so that new rain gutters could be properly installed. Robert's crew arrived on-time each morning, worked to complete the project (far more labor intensive than expected), and always cleaned up before leaving. They were all extremely pleasant, hard working, and courteous when they checked in with us to give us updates on the status of the project! Gotcha Covered Roofing replaced a roof for a home I own at Woods Coves in Laguna Beach. I was very stressed as it's not an easy property to access and neighbors can be uptight about any workers as there is no parking on the small cul-de-sac and noise is frowned upon. With that said, I have never seen such a polite considerate crew of workers. They were quiet, cleaned up each day before they left, abided by all parking rules and I didn't receive one complaint. The job required extra work once the three layers of roof was removed and Robert was very fair about the added cost. He showed my husband where and what needed additional work and let us make the decisions. I highly recommend this company. It's worth the wait as they are very popular due to their reviews and customers like me who would gladly recommend them. Don't let cost dictate who you use. I bought a new home in Corona del Mar last year and needed a roof inspection during escrow. One of my real estate agent's recommendations was "Gotcha Covered." Owner Robert Miranda Jr. and his partner/father responded promptly and provided a detailed report at very reasonable price. After we closed escrow we decided to replace the 30+ year old roof of our home and naturally turned to Gotcha Covered to provide a quote for the work that they had initially recommended. They weren't the cheapest quote I received but since they promised to be personally involved in the job, not just quote and delegate the work I chose to work with them. Our re-roof project was a complicated (four steep roof surfaces using lightweight concrete tile and a solar powered skylight) but Robert Jr., Robert Sr. and their crew did the job expertly and with great personal care. After I had my roof repaired in late February after a particularly bad storm I started shopping for a new roof (insurance decided they would cover a full tear off and replacement). I received bids from 7 companies (yes SEVEN, I am very thorough and particular) over the course of March, Gotcha Covered being one of them. I could not believe the range of prices to replace my roof (for 30 squares I received bids from $12k to $32k). I was immediately impressed with Robert's honesty and frankness when it came to discussing the project. To my relief there was no sales pitch which I had endured over and over again. Additionally, Robert and I hit it off since he is also a veteran. Robert's bid was not the cheapest, but the bid was in the lower range and what I deemed to be fair based on my research. Robert also provided references and showed me pictures spanning the 40 years he has been in this industry. As my search progressed I decided to add a solar project into the mix. When I finally chose my solar company, (after enduring another round of salesmen), they told me they contract with Robert's company, Gotcha Covered. This additional recommendation sealed the deal for me. After signing all of the necessary paperwork, Robert and his wife Mary, got me put on the schedule. I was a little disappointed with the time until the work would begin, but I understood because of all the rain this past winter/spring. Robert and his son, showed up when they said they would and the tear off began. Gotcha Covered tore off my TWO-LAYER roof and had it re-roofed within 5 days (two of those days was waiting on the City for inspection). Robert and Gotcha covered are amazing. My existing roof was tile. Tile roofs only last as long as the underlayment. I was looking for a roofing company that could provide me with a new tile roof with an underlayment that would last a long time. Robert of Gotcha Covered met me on site and walked on the roof with me to measure and discuss the condition of my roof which was leaking due to underlayment deterioation. I told him I did not want battens that acted as water dams when water got under the tile. Robert provided me with a pamphlet of the Boral elevated BattenSystem and said he could install it with a double layer or a quality underlayment containing fiberglass. He provided me with a reasonable quote. Robert said he could put me on his schedule. I knew Roofing contractors were very busy so I was pleased to here his company actualy worked to a schedule. Robert's wife Mary who handled the scheduling kept me informed on my schedule date. The work of Robert's crew was very good. The crew was pleasant and performed their work with a focus of doing a good job. They kept the work site neat and answered any questions I had. Had a mystery leak in our master bathroom after a big rainstorm. Called Robert yesterday late afternoon & he got right back to me & was out here this morning to check it out. We were in need of some roof repair, and were given a terrific recommendation by a friend for "Gotcha Covered". After checking background on this roofing company, I found out Gotcha Covered had been in business for over 25 years. The company is a family owned business, run by two generations. I called and spoke with them, letting them know that I needed some roof repair done, and they scheduled an appointment right away to come out and inspect my roof for needed repairs. My repairs involved removing a large section of the original tiles and roofing material, in order to complete the repairs. They then replaced the shiplap and fascia board for the entire. Afterward, they then reinstalled the roof and tile material to its original state. The entire crew were professional, responsive to our needs and kept the work area clean at all times. My mother in law got a roof done by these guys. The roof was fine until it started raining. We called him back and he came out once and said he fixed, well the next rain sure enough... it leaked again, she called and they never called back. We tried calling them for about six months and he never returned phone calls and never honored his warranty. seemed to me like he preyed on my mother in law being a single women.
