Free catered lunch from work. Delish!! - Tuna, avocado, and Swiss sandwich: 9/10, the tuna was flavorful, and there was a good amount of avocado. So delicious, would def get again. Pretty filling, but I do wish the meat to bread ratio was a little better (i.e. less bread). The bread was also a little hard to bite into, but overall still very yummy read more

I absolutely love this cafe! They have great coffee and espresso drinks. I got one of the best avocado toasts I have ever had here. It was piled high with toppings I couldn't even finish the entire thing. It's very cozy with lots of seating inside and outside. read more

Surprisingly poor sourcing of ingredients and pre-made food items for breakfast. Their croissant tasted like a Costco store bought variety. Their "fresh squeezed orange" juice was bitter. Their eggs tasted like something a corner deli could whip up. I have had good experiences in the past here at lunch. Maybe breakfast just isn't there thing. read more

Swung by here on a whim and am so glad I did. I was in the mood for coffee and pleasantly surprised they offered food as well. The ambiance was absolutely perfect and lively, so if you're looking for a quiet spot, you should try somewhere else. The location is ideal on a street corner, and it was a great way to enjoy my coffee and lunch while people-watching. Will definitely be returning soon. read more

I used to visit Gotan on a regular basis when they had a location in Midtown West and it was one of my favorite spots for lunch. I visited over the weekend and had a less pleasant experience, although it likely could have been that I ordered the wrong thing. The restaurant is comfortable and looks nice, however on this visit, I waited nearly 30 minutes for a takeout BLAT. The bacon wasn't crispy. The avocado was just a little mash on multigrain bread. The lettuce was iceberg, and the tomatoes were good. I believe the sandwich cost around $17 and was not fulfilling. When I inquired about why it was taking so long they looked at me like I was crazy. They weren't even apologetic. If I'm in the area at a less busy time I may give this place another shot because I really did have fond memories in the past. read more

Delicious food and coffee, highly recommend. No wait on a Thursday morning. Plenty of tables and seating

MUST TRY!! MUST TRY!!! If you haven't been here, please definitely do it!! Not a big menu, not necessarily. When you have the right items, menu is more than enough. Presentation, taste and service superb!! So far had Gotan breakfast, grilled halloumi cheese sandwich.. yummy!! Restaurant is south corner of the block. Just walk over to north corner and see Ghost Busters' fire house!! Amazing experience! read more

Cute and tasty spot! You order at the counter and they bring the food to your table. The scrambled cheddar biscuit was really good, as was the watermelon juice! They also have a lot of outlets, which comes in handy! (Although not USB - they are regular plugs) read more

Cute neighborhood coffeeshop. Crowded on a Sunday morning but with plenty of seating. Attempting to order a large glass of whole milk led to the bafflement of the barista. Took about 5 sentences more to pinpoint my order. Ended up receiving a medium cup of what might have been 2%, can't be sure, but definitely not a large. The $10.50 yogurt granola bowl photographs nicely but just isn't enough food. Would expect double the amount of yogurt and granola at this insane price point. Anticipating getting ripped off, since I almost always get ripped off, I also ordered the egg sandwich. It pretty good, the highlight being the bread. read more

Such a cute place for a brunch with friends! I really liked the coffee too! I highly recommend this place!

Cute outside seating area. This really is a lunch spot with the minimal breakfast option. Got the americano that came in a small cup, i should have known better! It is a cute cup regardless. Red is the theme for sure. The chamomile tea comes with its own teapot and so cute! Food wise it's not bad. Not understanding the hard bread for the sandwich but it is decent. Got the yogurt which was actually decent with all the sweeter condiments. Overall the food items are standard but i sure love the red theme. Red means stop so for those who just wanna give it a shot... stop here for a quick seat down. It's so NY. Love it. read more

When I subleased in Tribeca last summer, I would be here damn near everyday. It is probably the thing I miss most about Tribeca. That Gotan breakfast single handedly kept me alive, with the PB&J sandwich also getting A LOT of minutes. You can quite literally taste the quality of ingredients. The thing I love most, is if I could create a coffee shop to just post up in and relax, this would be it. It has fantastic natural light, great people watching, beautiful light fixtures, and an open floorplan that I just find inviting and inspiring. I feel as free as a female gymnast in my body when I am in Gotan. There is no wifi which kind of sucks, but if there was there would be no open seats and people jamming away on their laptops, kind of like I am doing right now with my hotspot on ahahaha. Normally, I would just come here to decompress and read a book or write a bit. I even asked to buy a shirt or sweatshirt because I love it so much, but they said they don't sell them :( Idk how Jay-Z doesn't have a lyric about this place yet. Let me take a crack at it: "Cobblestones in Tribeca you already know, headin' to Gotan that PB&J bout to go! Just tryna sip on this cold brew, but run up on us like that we finna fold you (fold you)." IG @jnov_ Tiktok @jnov__ read more

I downloaded Yelp to post this review as I haven't done a review in the last 5 years though I felt the need to let future customers know about the customer service here. I ordered a sandwich, and the team forgot the egg I added to my order. When I asked to add this ingredient, they demanded it would be charged as extra even though I had previously tipped on the order and verbally confirmed the addition with the cashier. I also found a hair in my food though I did not address the waiter on this as I was already disappointed with my prior treatment and did not want to waste the food. Other than that, the food and environment was okay though I did not appreciate the customer service and for the price point don't think it was worth it. read more

Delicious! Avocado toast with 2 eggs is the perfect breakfast. Cappuccino was also yummy!

I came into Gotan for lunch and had a nice visit. I ordered the Fattoush salad which is a Greek style salad without lettuce. It comes with feta, tomatoes, cucumber tossed in a light oil & vinegar based dressing. The butternut squash soup was really good and a very large bowl. The toast came with a fresh tapenade spread made with fresh parsley. It was delicious and complemented the soup perfectly. The food came out quickly after ordering at the counter, and it has a great open concept with large tables and a casual vibe. This is a solid breakfast and lunch spot! read more

Was looking for a cafe nearby to get some work done, and Gotan really had the perfect vibes. The only downside is that I wish they had wifi (which was surprising they didn't have it given how many people had their laptops open here!). It wasn't too crowded on a weekday morning, though more people started trickling in at around noon and almost every table was filled. Service was quick and efficient, and they had waiters circling around, despite it being a cafe. I got the Matcha Latte and the Chicken Cauliflower salad. Both were very decent. I thought the the Matcha Latte was on the bitter end and definitely quite strong. The salad was great -- pretty light but still flavorful and love the crunch from the cauliflower. read more

I have never left a review before, but i have downloaded yelp as I had to write something. this is easily the worst meal I have ever had in New York. the eggs were dry, the toast was thin and no butter. I genuienly think a child could have made better eggs on toast, it had no flavour and I could not finish it, a literal 0/10 and I would never recommend anyone to go here. AVOID!!!! read more

My friend and I tried going to bubbys but the line was super long so we ended up going to gotan. It was easy and quick to find a spot and it's a nice cafe with lots of outlets but no wifi. I got the tuna egg salad which was very fresh and had a ton of food for the price. My friend got the gotan breakfast plate and I thought the flavors were really good and it's a nice take on Mediterranean. What a chill vibe of a coffee shop this is. Plenty of seating and overall calming environment. The Latte and Hot Chocolate were good. The hot chocolate was a little bitter but our second round of it tasted better. He got egg sandwich and the omelette sandwich which both had herbs in them. We also shared a croissant that seemed to be a bit stale/ hard. But besides that everything else was great. read more

Gotan is a casual Tribeca cafe with plenty of seating and light bites to savor while you work or study. Seating is first come first serve but seems like there is usually a quick turnaround, so I doubt you'll have trouble finding a place to sit. The coffee is decent, albeit expensive. I'll be disappointed to report that there is no public Wi-Fi, although this place often appears on lists of cafes that are good to study or work at. They do have a bathroom for patrons, but it is very dirty so I really hope that it doesn't reflect the state of their kitchen. read more

If you want a coffee house that's done right, you'll have a difficult time finding anything better than this spot. As you walk in the first thing you notice is that it is warm and beautifully decorated. The menu is trendy, healthy, and unbelievably delicious. The coffee is made with care. I saw a barista prepare my coffee with the most delicate care and artistic flair, and it came out beautifully. To top it all off they play a great selection of music that fits the ambiance. Everything from Louis Armstrong to Ella Fitzgerald just tops off a perfect meal and great conversation. This is one place I'm coming back to. read more

First time at Gotan as this place also was highly recommended by a friend. Arrived around early noon time and had no issues ordering and finding a seat. Gotan breakfast (5/5): I should've ordered this because it was so good. The menu made it sound so complicated, but everything came together beautifully. Mediterranean salad was super fresh and helped balance out the somewhat greasy egg and potatoes. I really liked the warm and herby tasting pita bread when dipped in labne cheese. Oatmeal (2/5): Underwhelming and disappointing. The presentation is pretty but the oatmeal tasted like mush with zero texture. Not a fan. read more

So upset that on Google & Yelp it said they have free Wi-Fi but they do NOT! I literally went all the way there, ordered, & while waiting for my food to be sent to my table asked the waiter confidently for the Wi-Fi password and was bummed out. Mind you, this is midday so now I'm rushing to eat to head to a sure location with Wi-Fi because I can't have a second fail at that point. Off to Joe & the Juice I went! I feel like I have to call before I go anywhere except Starbucks to confirm if it's actually a space I can work remotely on Wi-Fi. The pictures were convincing as well, given all the people working in the Yelp photo gallery for this business. Service was good. Tried their new chicken shawarma salad and it was too salty. It did deliver on the shawarma spices though. The mint lemonade was refreshing and not really sweet or tangy, maybe watery. It was fine. I really loved the presentation of everything and the focaccia bread was sooo good. Nice seating, and if you have hotspot this is a great environment to focus in for remote working, as everyone is heads down or respectfully normal voice level. read more

Oh my God. I'm not usually one to rave about coffee shops because they're a dime a dozen in NYC (although I love them), but Gotan is something special. The ambience here is truly amazing. Everyone is so nice and polite, it's the PERFECT place to study (I'm a law school student so I appreciate this) and it's just a nice, large, fancy place in general. Did I mention the latte art?
