We passed a few coffee shops with long lines and kept moving, then stumbled upon Maman with no line and went straight in. Perfect timing. This place is cute -- like, really cute. There are a few small two-top tables in the front, and larger tables plus some very comfy booths in the back. Bonus points for a clean bathroom, always appreciated. They had a few holiday-inspired drinks, so we tried those. I can't remember the exact name of mine, but it was a mint hot chocolate with liqueur, topped with cocoa whipped cream and cacao nibs -- absolutely delicious and exactly what you want on a cold, rainy day. We also ordered a chocolate croissant, which was great. After we settled in, a line started forming. By the time we left, the place was packed, so we clearly lucked out arriving when we did. Stopped by Maman on a Saturday morning in early November. There was a line out the door but we later realized that that was for indoor seating. The sun was out so we got our order to go and enjoyed it on the patio style seating out front. We got the harvest tart, the olive oil pistachio tea cake, and their seasonal fall vanilla honey butter latte. I had high expectations from the latte and left a tad disappointed. The tart was great though! The location for the tribeca cafe is really nice and I enjoyed sitting outdoors people watching, occasionally catching up with passerby doggos on their walks, and enjoying the warm sun on a crisp fall day. 10/10 for the fall aesthetics but likely 7/10 for the food. I had been wanting to try this place for some time, and finally did. I ordered the salmon croissant roll, wild blueberry latte and a papaya matcha lemonade. Amazing food and drinks! I went for some early morning matcha and breakfast, and safe to say everything was delicious. I got a hot matcha latte, which tasted delicious: the matcha was strong and came sweetened (but not too sweet), and the latte art was so cute. I also got the salmon croissant which changed my life. The salmon lox was so fresh with an extra crispy croissant and cream cheese. It also comes with pickled onions and dill which add such a good pickled flavor. Everything was perfect. I came around 9-10am, and it was pretty crowded. I would recommend going early if you want to enjoy your food in a quiet space, but there was no issue with getting a table or receiving my food and drink. The cafe itself is super cute. Very European, full of greenery, and food and drink came with beautiful dishes. Maman is one of my favorite chains. Not only do I love its aesthetic, but I love their drinks and food. The pastries always shine so bright for me. On this visit, we needed more fuel before going to the Brooklyn Flea to hunt for some goodies. My fiancé and I ordered a ham and cheese croissant and shared the waffle. Our friends with us got a salad and the maman breakfast sandwich. I'm not sure if it was this location or if something changed, but it felt like the food wasn't as good as it normally is. My friend didn't finish her sandwich. Our honey lavender lattes were a little off. The food quality itself was good, it just felt like different ratios were used. Our server was a bit short with us. The people working the front were really kind though. This location is attached to a Paper Source, so it was nice to take a peek at the cute gifts while waiting for our food. Mini chain Maman is always a good spot to have in mind as a back up plan. Their cafes are cute with their rustic decor (very Instagram friendly) and their food and coffee are good. The breakfast pastries, cookies and cakes are great and I like their lunchtime soup and salad options. It's not super cheap but it's not too expensive either. This location is tucked away in the back of a paper source store and has a mix of individual and communal tables along with a couple of sofas, it's probably the nicest one I've been too as it's not too busy compared to some of the other locations. On a side note I've recommended Maman to a few friends and acquaintances and they've all agreed that it's an enjoyable spot to grab breakfast/brunch that isn't exorbitantly expensive before a day of sightseeing. read more

I am a big fan of Maman and visit their stores wherever I go. I've been to the one in Princeton, regularly visit Canal and Hudson street and I'm in greenwich almost every day. I have had terrible experiences in Tribeca on west broadway and refuse to go back. The staff is rude and my orders do not come out correct. I have had multiple bad experiences there but today was the day I said I'd never return (6/14/25). The cashier and barista were both very rude and management should definitely make a change as I give all of the other Maman locations 5 stars. My friend and I shared the mango-pineapple croissant and the poppy seed lemon loaf; she had the iced watermelon and matcha latte while I had the iced sea salt and caramel latte. Both pastries were delicious and not too sweet with well balanced flavors. my friend thought the matcha latte was okay, while I was overall happy with my latte although that ran on the sweet side for my taste. For the prices in the neighborhood, this was a great experience and we left feeling full and satisfied. Please note that this review is a couple weeks late, so the seasonal offerings may be replaced by their fall menu. I waited 30 minutes with only one person ahead of me because the barista prioritized five or more to-go orders before serving anyone in person. She never acknowledged the wait or thanked us. When I politely asked if I should order via Uber Eats next time--since it seemed like online orders were being prioritized--she called me a "bitch" while making my drink. She then served me a cup of warm milk with the leftover drops of matcha from the drink she had just made for an online order. I saw her prepare that online matcha carefully, using full scoops and proper technique, while mine was clearly thrown together with no care. I refused the drink. A manager eventually stepped in and was extremely kind--he remade it properly, told the barista she needed better manners, and gave me a refund. That said, I'm writing this because I hope they swap the staff out. I won't be returning, which is unfortunate because I used to enjoy coming here.
