I went to Goody's on Saturday morning after reading so many promising reviews on Yelp. I've been in search of the best breakfast restaurant, and I got hopeful with Grandy's. Low prices, decent decor, and tasty food? It sounded too good to be true, and to my disappointment, it was. I've give Goody's a couple of things. The restaurant is a cute breakfast spot - definitely nicer than your local Waffle House. They took good care of our table, ensuring that coffees and waters were always full. And I'll say that everyone else I dined with loved their meals (a breakfast skillet and a breakast burrito. However, they missed the mark with me. My first annoyance with this place is pretty minor and is just a matter of personal preference, so I tried not to factor this into the overall ratings. I love breakfast food, but I absolutely hate eggs in every form. Scrambled? Over-easy? Fried? Not interested. Since it's hard to find a breakfast dish that doesn't come with eggs, I usually just order a regular plate but ask for something simple instead of eggs - usually a slice of toast, unless I'm offered more exciting options (I'll never say no to another slice of bacon...). When I asked our waitress, she said that absolutely no substitutions were allowed. For me, that was a bummer. However, the reason for my three star review wasn't that. It was that simply nothing I ate was good. The coffee was very weak. My belgian waffle arrived dense and soggy, not crispy and fluffy, and my side order of hash brows tasted completely unseasoned. That last one was easily remedied by a decent sprinkling of salt and pepper, and were admittedly quite good once they tasted a bit less bland. I'll give Goody's another try. Everyone else in my party thought it was a great find, but I'm not convinced yet. read more

I got the steak and eggs and the steak came out way over cooked and the hash browns were ice cold. And my girlfriends bacon and toast was burnt as well, not that it mattered too much but still. While eating here my husband said "it gets the job done" and that is a very accurate description of this place. There is nothing special about the food - my waffle and eggs were both dry. They use TRANS FATS (margarine) only. So sad. No real butter in the house even. AckAlso, their menu states that they serve HASH BROWNS, but, they don't, they serve home fries/cottage fries. (?) We were disappointed, as we enjoy hash browns and wanted to have them. Seemed odd that the menu clearly stated hash browns not country potatoes/home fries/cottage fries, which is what they served. 10-3-18 Hash browns are shredded, everywhere. Any margarine IS a deal breaker. There are medical warnings to avoid them completely and always. You told me margarine was used because it 'held' longer! What??!!! Butter 'holds' very well.....it's a 'price' decision that motivates a restaurant to serve trans fats. Any chef, or culinary person will tell you butter is best over margarine. So, really it's a financial choice to be made, you choose cheaper trans fats instead. That is fine, & you have a lot of folks that seem to like that. However, There are a lot of folks that want to know, before they arrive, what fats are being used. I wish I could check zero stars & not one star. I avoid all restaurants that serve trans fats. read more

Went here on a Sunday morning, around 10 am. My party of 3 waiting for about 10 minutes for a table, not bad. The service was quick. I ordered a Bloody Mary and it was pretty standard. Nothing special. For food, I ordered the Strawberry Shortcake Waffle. It was nice and fluffy. It was good, but pretty standard as far as waffles go. Overall it was a good experience, just nothing super amazing. I would go back though and try other menu items. read more

Wanted to pop on here and write a review about one of my favorite breakfast spots. I heard they had a tough time with an inspection recently, so I feel the need to show my support. What I love about this place is its consistency in good food, good service, cleanliness, and the fact the owner comes to everyone's table every time. I love their potatoes. I always get them extra crispy. I also love their corned beef and hash. It's chunky just how I make it. I mean, it's fine. For the area it's in I'd say 4 stars but instant gravy, canned corned beef, fruit not ripe or flavorful. The steak in the steak n eggs was huge and flavorful. Tho I did have to send it back once cause their medium rare was too red and undercooked like it didn't thaw quite enough first. Only two small eggs made it far heavier on the steak than eggs. So the reviews brought us here and the experience turned us away. Honestly I'm not sure how this place has so many decent reviews but I'm guessing it's due to the locals supporting their local dive breakfast joint. Clearly we ventured too far outside of our little bubble. A bubble that spans from Denver downtown to Boulder to Westminster to Centennial. The food was just average the cost of course reasonable very much a diner vibe you're better off at IHOP if you're looking for a budget breakfast meal. To add a little insult to injury we had simple requests of making our hash browns and bacon well done, this did not happen potatoes were raw bacon was common cooked. This place is my favorite for breakfast or brunch. The atmosphere is calm, bright, and clean. I always have decent, if not great service. The food is always fresh.
