Excellent I've been buying donuts from here for 31 years and my favorites are the glazed rounds and twists also the glazed buttermilks and maple bars are excellent. I came here for the first time today. I bought 3 donuts (a powdered sugar one with cream filling; Tiger tail; apple fritter) but after talking with the employee (I don't know if he was the owner?) and finding out it was my first time, he gave me a free donut! That was so nice of him. Plus, the donuts were actually very tasty - he said the tiger tail is a customer favorite, and that it's sweet but not too sweet, and yep he was right. These are regular old-school style donuts that are perfectly done. No hoity-toity, fancy-schmancy, designer-label, unique-flavor-profile donuts reside in this shop. This donut shop has been around for as long as I can remember. I have fond memories of coming here early in the morning to grab a freshly made donut and orange juice before High School. Well, it's been more than a few years since then and this place hasn't changed a bit. It looks like the same Asian family is running it (but now with the adult son at the helm...though I do still see the elderly parents there sometimes). The store could really use some updating, but 70's era decor aside, the place still turns out some good donuts. In particular, I'm a fan of their tiger tails. For those of you who don't know, a tiger tail is a yeast donut shaped into a long twist, with a delicious chocolate ribbon woven into the center. If you get there in the mornings, they are usually fresh and hot out of the fryer. Mmmmm.....fried foods.... The don't have the biggest selection of donuts, but it'll do. I stopped in for a coffee and a donught. Yes, yelpers, a little Spanish woman and man, but clearly the owner is of Asian decent and he was curtious, and quick to chat. Thats a plus! I've lived in Cerritos my whole life. I can't believe I've been passing this shop up! My husband and I are suckers for donuts, and usually all donuts taste the same so I never really care where I go. BUT.... Honestly these are the best donuts from a shop we've ever had. First of all I ordered online close to noon, when I arrived the sweet man working I think his name is Tony broke the news that nothing we ordered online was available. I didn't really care and was going to get whatever was available, but every donut we asked about he just kept putting into the box. He gave us replacements for everything we initially ordered and then some!! Like look at this box it's full lol. When it came time to pay for all the extras (which btw everything we got in replacement was probably more $ than what we ordered) he just gave us the box and said it was on the house. He said he wanted to make a good first impression but that was way way wayyyyy too kind and the thoughtfulness will stay with us forever. Not only are these donuts fire, they're crunchy outside even at 12 noon and soft on the inside, but the customer service is amazing. My husband and I gave our family 3 donuts from the box and ate EVERYTHING else in one day lol. I think that says enough in itself. I grew up on Goodies and it was special occasion on a Saturday morning with the family to get a box of donuts. Oh man, hands down best donuts I've had! I'm obsessed with donuts so I've tried them all. Majority of the time, these mom and pop donuts all taste identical however the donuts at goody's are not like the rest. I like the fact that they make the donuts right in front of you too. This donut place has not only been around for years but the owner and the workers are amazing. I can take these donuts anywhere and people are amazed by the taste! My family have been customers for 20+ years and am so grateful they are open till this day. This operation is so wholesome. Back 10 years ago for Cerritos highschool the owners would donate their donuts to help support club fundraising. During COVID for my pharmacy staff they would always drop in extra donuts when I would come in with my scrubs and PPE. Their small acts of kindness truly shines and makes this business outstanding. I love donuts. So for my birthday, I just had to get myself some birthday donuts and of course I had to get them at Goody's. I must mention the apple fritters from Goody's are the best! Nice and crisp around the edges and moist and slightly gooey in the middle. Plus they are big! One apple fritter usually does it for me. If your not a big fan of apple fritters, then you should really go for the tigertail! two flavors in one!!! It's truly sugar-y goodness. Other staples I order are the sprinkled anything because you can't really go wrong with sprinkles. The coconut flake ones are great as well. They sell those in a small and large size. I never get tired of donuts! They are one of my comfort foods! Have passed by Goody's many times, but have only tried them once. So is Goody's good? Well, what I tried was pretty darn tasty. Bought me a powdered covered custard filled donut for 80 cents. Don't know if that is the real name of that treat, but I'll go with it. Great value for this yummy sweet! Won't be my last time here. Like Homer Simpson, I love donuts and beer. Why don't they have a "Donuts and Beer" instead of Papas Y Beer sticker? Well, I have a love / hate relationship with this place here. Of course, the hate is the weight gain but also I came here once at 4am on a weekend. Got a dozen donuts which was $7.00. Selection at that time was pretty minimal. Well, one bite into one of the donut, it was uncooked! I've also been here at 1pm and had the tigertail which was excellent. Tasted like a cocoa crisp cereal bar that got ran over by a donut. Oh goody I finally went to Goody's donuts in the city of Cerritos off of Artesia blvd and Carmenita! I was advised by fellow yelper Lily A. to try the apple fritter and tiger tail, and this was goody advice indeed. I made a goody choice by also getting the chocolate bigfoot, bowtie, and chocolate with creme filling. The owner was nice enough to give me a bag of free donut holes because I told him it was my first time. Such a nice Thai man:-) I also got the mocha flavored cappuccino which tasted sweet, but not too sweet. When I showed the donuts to my mom, she said the tiger tail looked good, very long and that the apple fritter was a large size, well worth the price. With my mom's approval (she knows donuts), I knew these donuts were goody-nuff! read more
