The couches and plants gave it a living room vibe where you can relax. Workers were very friendly and recommended the Nico Latte and the Ocean Latte, but I was feeling the Rose Petal Latte so we got the Nico and Rose. The drinks came out quickly and were so good. The drinks were so smooth, and the orange bitters in the Nico Latte was delicious. The Rose Petal Latte was very floral, and both drinks had the perfect amount of sweetness for us. We went looking for great coffee and we definitely found some here!

I love this café so much that even now, whenever I visit Portland, I never miss a chance to stop by! I have introduced this café to so many of my friends, and everyone has loved it! Definitely one of my all-time favorite cafés in the Portland area!

If you want to make absolutely sure you're starving before breakfast, this is the place for you…read more We ended up waiting a little over two hours for a table because the quoted wait time kept creeping up in increments, and at some point we were too invested in the process to turn back and try somewhere else. The good news? The setting is beautiful. Since we had so much time on our hands, we got to wander the farm multiple times and really take in the scenery. There's also a coffee shop where you can grab pastries and drinks while you wait, which definitely helped. We all got coffees and did our best to stay patient. By the time we were finally seated, we were beyond hungry. Three of us ordered the same Eggs Benedict, my husband got the two-egg sandwich, and we added a waffle for the table. Unfortunately, the food took its sweet time arriving too. Honestly, I don't think the food was worth a two-hour wait. The potatoes were under-seasoned, the eggs weren't cooked properly, and overall everything just felt a little off. At that point we were all too hungry and slightly too cranky to complain, so we quietly ate and focused on making our exit. The waffles were probably the highlight and seemed to be the one thing everyone enjoyed. As for the rest, the quality didn't match the price tag. It's going to be a very long time before I come back. I could see myself stopping by for a coffee and maybe a pastry, but breakfast? Probably not.

There are a decent number of tables inside (don't panic, check the back room for seats, too!), as well as several outside on the wraparound porch. The whole converted country house is adorable, inside and out! South Store Cafe radiates a rustic-chic, inviting atmosphere. They have a fairly comprehensive breakfast-and-lunch menu, but they also have two enclosed pastry cases chock-full of sweet and savory goodies sure to please any palate. I thought I knew what I wanted until I saw that case! In the end, I got the sausage and mushroom strata with a homemade cardamom syrup latte, all of which was delicious! It's a fabulous gem tucked in the country, and I can't wait to return.

The gravy was really good & the French dip was 10/10!! I would recommend if they still have it. I also love that they have a senior section in their menu. I worked on a project years ago on having more restaurants create senior sections in their menus to bring more of our seniors out so that they can also enjoy these restaurants, so the fact that they had it already made me happy. Unfortunately it was not a good experience. I don't really like writing negative reviews. The server was the issue. She wasn't friendly, was very slow, missed some items, didn't come back to refill our water, was almost the end of the meal when the coffee arrived. The worst part was when she did come back, we mentioned the items still missing, someone said my coffee is still missing. She snapped back, I heard you. It was awkward and set an unpleasant vibe for the meal. There are many issues with this kind of attitude. We shouldn't have to keep reminding the server about missing items. Never respond to customers like this. A note regarding the food. In general it was very good. other than the potatoes, I would give the food 6 stars. We both recalled the potatoes were amazing. They were not this time. They were not fully cooked. The eggs, I got scrambled with cheese. I think these were the best eggs I've ever had anywhere. 10 stars. The cook deserves a big pat on the back. Their namesake sandwich is a classic, with the fantastic addition of roasted blueberry jam. My wife was thrilled with Rowan's bowl option - which appeared to have a little of everything.
