This hole in the wall place is always good. This was my second time eating food from here and it was just as good as the first time. The only thing is there's no tables to eat on there only chairs to seat and wait for your food. I mean I guess you could just seat and eat on the chairs but I prefer a table so we can share. Once in a while on the way home, we'll pass by this place that looks like they sell Korean fried chicken. Though with a name like "Good Chicken," we were a bit skeptical for quite a while - is it REALLY good or are you just saying that? Nonetheless, we decided to bite the bullet one weekend afternoon and stopped by to order. Our first time actually resulted in a relatively long wait. Maybe 30-40 minutes for a few orders so rest assured, no wing was left uneaten that afternoon. The wings themselves were still crisp by the time we got back to the apartment, the flavors were outstanding, and it was juicy on the inside. Good chicken might also be one of the few places that offers really good rose tteokbokki and other sides as well so don't sleep on those if you have a good appetite. The second time we got Good Chicken, we called it in prior to avoid the wait. Wings and rose tteokbokki were ready by the time we got there and they even generously threw in some extra goodies for us at no cost. Overall, I think Good Chicken makes some of the best Korean fried chicken on the island to be completely honest. Better than the franchises you see popping up. We'd probably pick this place over B.B.Q. which is one of my favorite chains. Though admittedly, we don't come as often as we could. We noticed that they opened another location in Waikiki and unfortunately, we weren't really craving Korean fried chicken that day. My favorite spot for crunchy and oh so awesome wings. My favorite is the garlic chili wings or boneless. They have a great crunch and the chicken is moist. The flavor is sweet shoyu garlic with a kick of heat, I love eating the extra peppers topped on. The Mandoo has a tasty filing, they don't get as much crispy as I like but still delicious. They also don't serve your normal mandoo sauce, they serve it with a pickled daikon sauce. If you want something close to the traditional sauce, ask for extra garlic chili sauce. My wife loves their Teokk Bokki, the broth is a nice sweet heat that builds as you keep eating it. They are on a back road, so if you don't seek them out, you'll never by chance walk by to enjoy their delicious food. They are also take out only. The main server is always so polite. But you have to mix it well to get the full taste. I liked eating it with my chicken. The garlic chicken was not spicy at all, a little sweet and not too much spicy. But it was good! I love a no-frills eatery. There are lots of Korean fried chicken places in town. But, this stands out for its hearty mandoo and tasty chicken. First, there are 2 kinds of mandoo, a pork and a kimchee. Both are plump and filled with veggies, ground pork, and yam noodles. Get the kimchee mandoo for the extra flavor. Next, we tried the boneless garlic chili chicken. I really liked this flavor. It seems unique to this place. The sauce is soy sauce based with chilis and slightly sweet. It's not a sticky glaze. I recommend it because it's not too spicy. The boneless pieces were nice pieces of chicken and not formed patties. I would get this again. I called in my order, and it took about 15-20 minutes. I got there a little early and was offered a can of green tea. That was such a treat! Nice customer service!There are a few big chairs for the wait. It's a take out place, so there is no eat-in area. When you get to the location, they have a limited amount of parking stalls out front. Luckily, there was one stall left. He was very friendly and suggested which type of chicken to try and order based on what we liked. There was a female in the back who appreared to be cooking. The menu is posted near the window and they also have a video running of people eating their fried chicken to the right of the menu. We ordered: 1) Tonkatsu Plate - the tonkatsu had a good amount of pork in it and it was crunchy with a tasty sauce 2) Garlic Chili Fried Chicken Plate - the fried chicken was fried well with no pink. The garlic chili sauce was yummy but the jalapeño was very spicy, a little too spicy for me so I didn't eat any more after I tried it once. 3) Fried Mandoo - really good and worth getting! The filling was tasty and the mandoo had a great crisp. We waited about 10 min for our order which was not bad as the food was crispy. Each plate comes with rice and either toss or mac salad. We were excited to try this place. We ordered the garlic chili chicken (10 pieces) and a side mac salad. The flavor on the chicken was almost non existent. I barely tasted garlic or chili. I needed more sauce to dip the wings in since it nearly tasted like plain wings. Mac salad just tasted like mayo. I love good chicken since they opened. It's not just in their name but the food was actually amazing. They opened another location in Waikiki as well and the owner stays in that location. I recently bought take out from the Ward location, but I didn't try it so I'm not sure how it tasted. My fiancé was the one that had it for dinner and he said that it wasn't as good as it was before. I don't know if it's because the owner isn't at this location or if the original cook is at the Waikiki location. I still give it a 5 star since I haven't had it. Found this place on yelp and decided on it because it was open late and they offered online ordering. My job was to pick up the food and it was very easy. I followed my GPS and found a parking spot right out front. They have a sign and it was easy to find, but it is kinda located in a random area that I wouldn't have expected to find a fried chicken counter. It may be on the bottom floor of an apartment building? or a hostel/hotel? Idk, I was a little confused and would have been sketched out, however, there were nice chairs to sit in to wait for my food order and it was clean and brightly lit. We ordered the boneless garlic chili and the regular boneless chicken but both didn't taste right and the chunks of chicken looked different. And now they charge for the little packs of pickled radish/daikon when they used to include it with your order. The usual guy wasn't at the window taking your order so we think this place has been sold and now new owners have taken over. This is my second time here and it's never a disappointment! You want GOOD CHICKEN? Well, You will get GREAT CHICKEN and MANDOO instead! This time instead of picking up for dinner(which ended up doing anyway), we were picking up for Super Bowl Sunday (on a Sat night bc they are closed on Sundays). They held up well the next day after reheating it in our air-fryer which was still crispy and full of flavor. We decided on three choices- 30 Regular, 30 Garlic Chili and the 30 Korean and some steamed mandoo (sooo ono) plus since we were already here, we chose the Honey Shoyu plate which my son loved so much that I only got one piece for myself (oh well, next time I'll pick up more). The BIG HIT with everyone was the Chili Garlic which there were no leftovers at all. It has a little tingle but that's about it. The flavors were all on point and the chicken is moist, plump and plentiful. The price point is cheaper than Wild Buffalo Wings and their chicken is not slim at all. While I do love Foodland's salt and vinegar wings, their chicken wings are tiny and lacking. I needed something to eat, and I took a wrong turn and at first drove past, and then saw the White Elephant...looked them both up and Good Chicken was the better of the two, so why not. I ordered the honey shoyu boneless chicken, and the beef mandoo, which I've never had. I ordered a side of mac salad, but the owner said it came with. It took about 15 minutes. There are four parking spaces right in front. It is also adjacent to a Korean spa, so if you were inclined, you could go get a salt scrub, and then pick up some food after. My friend raved about Good Chicken so I looked them up on Yelp. Lyla D wrote such a wonderful review about this spot, I decided to check them out. Currently it's take out only till COVID-19 gets better and it's safer for dine in according to the male cashier. If you're in a hurry or on a time constraint, I would recommend calling in your order ahead of time. We came here for lunch and realized they are take out only so we opted to run our errands first then call in a phone order on our way home. Mink wanted to try their Honey Shoyu and I was recommended to try their Garlic Chili. I called in the order and asked for 10 Garlic Chili and 10 Honey Shoyu totaling 20 pieces. They told me about 17 minutes so we headed back. When I told the cashier my name for the phone order, he said $60+ and I was confused. There was a miscommunication and they thought I wanted 20 pieces of each. He went back to the kitchen and asked them to adjust the order. Not too long after paying, our order was ready. It smelled really good. Both of us couldn't wait to give them a try. When we got home, we got plates and dug right in. The chicken was fried perfectly and it was still very crunchy after our commute home. The flavors were good and I liked the Garlic Chili a lot more than the Honey Shoyu. Thinly sliced chilis in the Garlic Chili was quite tasty and added a slight kick to the dish. The chicken meat wasn't over cooked nor dry. They're on Kawaiahao St. which is a little side street right next to Asahi Grill in Ward, same street as the Rice Factory and Hana Koa Brewing There's a few stalls in front of the shop, and the inside is much more spacious than I thought it would be, but although there's seating for while you wait for your food, there's no actual dining area so be prepared to take it to the park, beach, or home to enjoy! We got the Garlic Chili Wings, Pork Mango, Chicken Tenders and Rose Tteokbokki which were all knock-your-socks-off kine delicious!! Despite the drive to our dining location and time for us to take photos and videos (the gram always eats first haha), the chicken dishes were still crispy and the tteokbokki was still steaming which says a lot! The Garlic Chili Wings were spicy but not ~ too spicy ~ which was great, and the chicken tenders were SO tasty - tastier than I thought any chicken tender could be haha the Pork Mandoo were literally stuffed so much I thought they would explode at any minute haha and the Rose Tteokbokki was probably the best thing I ate this month. It's a brand new month, time to shake a leg! There were about 5 people waiting when I got there. The parking stalls up front are rather limited (maybe 5 at most) so if anything, have someone drive, you hop out, they circle around or park down the street and come grab you after. Uncle working the counter was super accommodating and grateful for the business. There was another customer who was eating his plate on the sidewalk and came back to tell uncle that everything was so good, and uncle was so humble about the whole thing. As for the food, the flavors were on point for me. Not too spicy, nor too salty. And the plates, came with mac salad that had a little corn mixed into it, which I liked. The pickled radish and shoyu onions were my favorite parts that complimented the main dishes well (and uncle threw those in for free, even though we told him that we were willing pay for extra extra radish; so we just tipped him extra). I called in our order for half an order of the plain fried chicken wings, and it was ready in about 20 minutes. There are 4 parking stalls right in front of the building - cross your fingers that one will have your name on it when you pull up. After getting my box of chicken wings, I drove to the Ohana Marketplace parking lot and because the wings smelled so good, my kids wanted to try some, and we ended up inhaling the 10 wings in no time. An ad for Good Chicken popped up on my Instagram. We were in the area, the chicken looked good, hubs loves his fried chicken, so we headed over. We decided on the chicken and garlic chili chicken plates. Each plate comes with 2 scoops of rice, pickled radish, and choice of toss or mac salad. $12.95 each. There was a wait for our food, but they were obviously made to order cuz they were piping hot. Both were sooo good. The garlic chili sauce was yummy, especially with the rice. Just a lil kick of spiciness. However, I like the regular one more as it was crispy (since no sauce). Both orders of the chicken were juicy, too. And that is correct!! Good chicken people. Actually, I call it excellent chicken. I have been craving some good, and I mean good Korean fried chicken. I have always been pessimistic here in Honolulu because I have tried a few and they all have been too sweet or not spicy enough. I ordered the garlic chili boneless chicken (because I am lazy tonight, but I usually order bone in) and side tteokbokki. Then kind man said 17 minutes when I called and I was grateful because they were closing in 25! I got there and it was nice and hot and he told me that the tteokbokki was going to be very hot. It temperature hot, but if you know Koreans, we like to eating piping hot things!! I took a bite of tteokbokki and the only thing I have to say is that it was little runnier than usual but the taste was on point. The chicken pieces were juicy and there were a good amount for the order. It wasn't too fried and the ratio of chicken skin and chicken was perfect. Honestly, this is the best Korean chicken that I have eaten on island. Tasty, spicy but not overly, filling, and not crazy overly priced. The chicken honestly didn't have a bad taste to it like some places do. I will be back for sure and I hope this review will help others to decide to try this place!! read more

Little hole in the wall of the red building on Kawaiaha'o St. Only a few parking stalls in front the building. We ordered the garlic chili,honey shoyu,tteok bokki and Kumari. The garlic chili was not that spicy to me,but it does have a kick to it. The hone shoyu is very flavorful.the meat is very tender and kinda just falls off the bone.
