Previously, Yelp list this business as "closed" but I verified their business website and physically entered patronized this business. It is not closed. Peach green tea medium, $6.75 Gong Cha have my default topping grass jelly loeng4 fan2 涼粉 which, of course, I included in my order for $0.75. The tea alone was average green tea. The amount of grass jelly was very abundant - which is exceeding unusual. There is no frugal for herbal jelly topping here. I requested "less sugar" which the peach syrup embedded makes this drink extremely sweet. I highly despise extremely sweet drinks for the high sugar content volume. The ice, as usual, melted during my long-haul subway ride home. The clear plastic cup is very thin for ecofriendly but I disagree since it can be easily broken. Napkins and straws are available for grabs. Gong Cha is one of my favorite bubble tea businesses for default to patronized. First time at this location and I like the minimalistic decor and convenience. I ordered the strawberry matcha latte with oat milk. The service was ok, just professional. They seemed more interested in their internal conversation than customer service. Should be more friendly. The matcha was delicious as always but when I ordered at the kiosk after customizing, only soy, whole, and no milk was available. I cannot have either in liquid form so I opted out. The server had to ask me my milk option for oat milk which wasn't noted. Recommend kiosk milk option updated. However, I still like gong cha and glad this location is here and open on Sunday. I forgot this Gong Cha was back here and was glad to see it on the map of bubble tea in the area. We came in and despite the line, were served quickly. They have a cool new system where you can get credit for your visits without downloading any app or collecting collecting cards. They track it by your phone number. I even got a coupon for a dollar off my next drink. Staff is professional and efficient, so that makes it really good for customers on the go. They make the drinks pretty standard here, so consistency is intact. I went with my new favorite the dirty Brown sugar milk tea (dirty= milk cap and boba) and it was delicious. So excited to see a Gong Cha in the area, it's always my go-to for bubble teas if I can find it! We came by to check it out at my insistence, because I can't pass up a Gong Cha. This shop is so tiny and very cute, but there is a great amount of seating while you wait! We ordered the standard milk tea at 50% sweetness and the taro tea at 50% sweetness, both with boba. For both teas + tax, it came out to ~$12 which is pretty good for NYC! Our drinks were ready in a few minutes. And they were truly delightful! After trying a few sips of the taro tea that might be my new go-to order now. I'm a bubble tea hound, he is not. However, he liked the taro tea so much that he went back without me a second time, which I think speaks to how great Gong Cha is. Will definitely be back! So so happy Gong Cha has reopened during the COVID crisis. I patiently checked almost every day on Door Dash to see if they were taking orders. And when I finally saw it was clickable, I had to call and find out if it was really in fact open! It's already pretty much a take out place, but the delivery option is nice as well. I decided to go in person since it was a nice day out, and they didn't have my drink option available on the app. Their ordering process is very easy and contactless. They also have plastic shields for extra protection. Boba was perfectly chewy even though I waited to get home to open drink it! and I had no complaints with the tea:milk ratio. Gong Cha does not rank among my favorite bible tea places, but this location was one of the best I've been to. I ordered the QQ Passionfruit green tea 50% sweet with regular ice. It's a passionfruit tea that comes with tapioca pearls and lychee jelly. The pearls were perfectly chewy and the lychee jelly added a nice textual contrast. On a hot summer's day this drink was exactly what I needed. Might get it 30% sweet next time, but that's just my preference. Very glad to have Gong Cha in the neighborhood. read more

I don't often go to Gong Cha for boba, but after leaving Alamo Drafthouse, I knew I had a long train ride home so I figured I'd get some boba. I went with the Earl grey milk tea "3J", half sweet. I was watching them make it and was surprised at how much of the boba, grass jelly, and custard they were putting in. It looked like the person filled the large cup to the 70% mark before the milk tea went in. It seemed to be their usual amount for this drink since the other employee had made just the right amount of milk tea to fill the cup to the brim. The earl grey flavor was a bit lacking. And the drink as a whole was too sweet, even at only half sugar. I think the boba, grass jelly, and custard each add sugar to the drink itself, so I should have gotten it 30% sweet or maybe even no sugar. Kung Fu Tea and Vivi's Bubbles does a much better job at earl grey milk tea. You definitely taste the earl grey much more than this drink from Gong Cha. read more

I had lemon ai yu drink with grass jelly substituted for the ai yu jelly. I wish I had tried the ai yu jelly but the worker there said it tasted like nothing. Looking back, I think it may have complemented the drink better than grass jelly. Either way, I loved the drink. It doesn't have actual tea in it so it's caffeine free. This shop has about four tables that seat to people and a bench. They also have outlets for charging your phone or computer. Most patrons who came in did not stay. The lemon drink I got is similar to the Vietnamese salty lemon soda drink minus the soda. It contains some of the lemon rinds and tastes salty and sweet.
