I feel kinda conflicted about giving this place 4 stars, and here's why. As locals would be welll aware, it's not at all easy to find parking in this part of town as visitors, but we managed a spot and I went inside to order while my other half waited in the car. I couldn't find what we were looking for on the menu, so I said hello and started telling the staff at the register what I wanted to order, which was instantly met with a look of confusion and...displeasure. I'm usually super aware of my Australian accent messing people up when I order food, so I repeated the order and spoke more slowly, to which the staff bluntly said, "we don't have that." I turned around and left exasperated. Fast forward 15 minutes, my other half (with a North American accent) came back to the car with two large boba teas, the very teas I had tried unsuccessfully to order for us. Their four season tea was possibly one of the very best we've got from a boba tea chain, and their boba was pretty spot on in terms of texture and flavour. So, all in all, I would go back, but perhaps leave ordering to someone with an American accent (which is kinda bonkers to think about). BTW, this place is food takeaway only. I hope they continue to improve. read more

I wish I could give negative stars!!! Worse thing I ever could have did was make an order from Tbaar. I ordered 3 items for delivery. The items were supposed to be delivered by someone from the store. After waiting about 35 mins for my order I made a call to the store for an update. The women on the line asked me for my name and advised me the driver was on the way. After waiting another 20 minutes with no delivery I called back. The woman again asked me for the name on the order and then proceeded to tell me that she couldn't find my order in the system and what was ordered which I told her. She then asked me for my address..... what changed in 20 mins that everything magically disappeared?? Finally 10 more mins went by as I waited for an update or contact from the store or driver and when I called back again 2 more times I was instantly sent to voicemail!!! Highly unprofessional! I got the brown sugar milk tea with boba, my girlfriend got the lychee lime green tea. Our drinks were just what we needed! It's not the best boba I've ever had but it was still delicious and will satisfy your cravings! The boba pearls themselves were hot and fresh, my milk tea was sweet and refreshing. I would try to do 50% sweetness though. Even with the 50%, I felt like mine still packed a lot of sugar. So yummy! read more

They have a partnership with Kyuramen next door, so i had already experienced their Thai iced tea when i added it to a ramen order some months ago. This time i opted to place my order for pickup via Grubhub. i had my 3-year-old with me, so i ordered a strawberry lemonade, a coconut smoothie, and a Thai iced tea. i like that i was able to specify the amount of sugar for the beverages as i try to make sure my lil ones aren't in the habit of having sugary drinks. Each beverage was delightful. Not too sweet, flavorful, and the order was completed in a reasonable amount of time. As far as their customer service goes, i do wish that they greeted customers upon entry. They have a tablet set up whereby you can place your order instead of a cashier, but i had already placed my order online, so i kind of awkwardly stood around and then voiced that i thought i saw my order on the counter. The barista bagged it up expeditiously, but just having someone say, "Welcome - if you'd like to order, please use this kiosk or let me know if you're picking up." would add a bit more warmth and efficiency to the experience. I'm glad tbaar opened on 5th ave! The only other boba place nearby is kung fu tea, and I'm not the biggest fan. This shop is a few blocks down, and worth the walk. Even though they stand right in front of the kiosk, they ask that you order on it yourself. They have a pretty big menu with fruit teas, milk teas, sea salt foam, and even food items. I got the sea salt foam green tea with boba 30% sugar, and I really enjoyed how tea forward it tasted. The worst is when you get a milk tea drink that tastes like JUST MILK, or JUST WATER. I'm a fan of anything sea salt, and it added a nice balance The boba was also chewy, but I've only had it once so I can't comment on consistency. Tbaar is a really solid bubble tea shop in Park Slope. I tried the milk tea with bobba and taste was on point. It was slightly too sweet but you can ask for less sugar. The boba tasted fresh and chewy. Next time I will definitely try the grapefruite w/ aloe. Service was friendly and fast so you can't go wrong with visiting Tbaar when you are in the Park Slope area. TBaar was the first bubble tea I'd ever tried when I was a kid, so it always holds a soft spot in my heart. When a new location opened in walking distance of my new apartment, I knew I had to stop in. The atmosphere is really new and very modern. It's inviting and bright. The workers are all kind and patient while I slowly decided which drink to get. They recommended their popular fruit tea, which I promptly ordered. The fruit tea is refreshing and delicious. The flavors go really well with the jelly pieces at the bottom. It's the perfect textural combination of soft, chewy, and smooth. You can choose the amount of ice and sugar which is customizable and awesome. The size is super large and really worth the price. My dining partner got the dragon fruit drink which is definitely less sweet overall and has more of a thicker texture. So happy there's a TBaar now in my neighborhood! read more

I'm so glad that they have a new Tbaar in park slope, that you don't have to go to sunset park or manhattan to get. There are a lot of Asian tea parlor in the city but Tbaar always stood out with their great selection of tea from milk tea to fruit tea or simply if you want a slushy. I love their quality is consistent so you always know you will get a great quality for what you pay for. Love this place for a quick boba! It's my go to when I want to take a walk after working from home all day. I really appreciate how their prices aren't too insane. You can get a medium boba milk tea for just $5. Somehow that's impossible to find in NYC these days! The boba is solid, but not mind blowing. It does the job when you have a craving. The pearls are soft and chewy, with a hint of brown sugar. The milk tea isn't too milky and has a noticeable tea flavor, which I appreciate I've also tried their Thai milk tea through Kyuramen next door and it's great as well. They have a loyalty card where you get a free boba after 10 bobas. I've always forgotten my card/forget to get it stamped though. However, it's nice that they offer this. read more

I tried this place the first day I got to Brooklyn, NY I was actually looking for a smoothie place but when I saw the pictures of the drinks from this place I was intrigued. Then I saw a picture of the menu of drinks and I had to go. They make their drinks look soooo pretty! I don't understand why this place has so many stars, that wasn't my experience ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ the tapioca were cold, small and undercooked; the "hot tea" was tepid at best (probably iced by the bubbles); and the staff claimed they were "not allowed" to add milk to an oolong tea order because it wasn't an option in the ordering kiosk - even though it's just bulk creamer that they spoon into the cup if you order an "official" milk tea, not like they have to count packets for inventory. Maybe the food is good - they were sold out by 2pm on a Friday - but that alone won't cover their rent. I won't miss this place when they inevitably close! read more
