I remember having my 8th birthday party at Golfland in Mesa in 1990-- it doesn't look like the place has been upgraded, or even properly maintained, since then. The price of a 3 hour fun pass w/ arcade card for 2 children was $71. 2 medium lemonades cost $8.12. Multiple arcade games were out of service. The attractions, like the bumper cars and bumper boats did not have attendants; instead you had to push a button on a Ring door bell (literally a residential Ring door bell) and wait 5+ minutes for someone to show up. Checking in to get wrist bands and game cards took 15 minutes; I was the only person in line. No one knew what they were doing, or how to validate tickets purchased online. The mini golf was okay. In my humble opinion, very overpriced and the water in the park is not very clean. For example, the lazy river had plastic, chapstick, and other debris. I do appreciate the free life vest for little kids. This was helpful for the wave pool. Also, the rides are confusing on which lines and tubes needed. Lastly, the entire place is run by teenagers. Sunsplash itself was enjoyable. Paid for nightsplash and golf land attractions all in one. Didn't make it to golfland because the food we ordered took an hour and a half to come out. (3- 3 chicken strip meals and a funnel cake). The lady at the counter had no idea how to work the register or what she was doing. Said they were understaffed and were almost out of ice so we would have to skip our drinks or wait until our food came out to get them. We chose to get a few monsters and a Powerade instead (they weren't even discounted). $76 dollars later and I didn't get any sauces so I went up to the counter and asked for a few ranches, the guy very rudely said "um you need to pay for those" after waiting in line for 45 min to order and an hour and a half for my food. So I waited in line another 45 min to order ranches. The funnel cake was rock hard. The lady at the register kept asking kitchen staff questions about absolutely everything and they were getting annoyed and making faces at her. Absolutely do not recommend. Will be going somewhere else. Not worth the money. We also did laser tag. My vest/gun didn't work at all. Took the fun out of us all playing. When it was over and I stood to the side by myself the whole time, I told the lady my vest was broken she just said thanks, then let the next group in. Today I cancelled my membership after their attempts to force me to allow them to collect and store my biometric data. Water park itself was great. So much fun. Only criticism is concessions. Management needs new operations, kids working were understaffed and under trained. I felt so bad for them. They were working their butts off however management sets them up to fail. Customers being irate at them doing their best didn't help. Well. The website says that the place opens at 10. Very misleading because Sunsplash doesn't open until 11. The process of actually getting a wristband was so aggravating. So, I was at the Waterpark, in the wave pool. The wave pool is a simulated ocean with waves. Carter has discovered that the waves are biggest by the wall. So, as per (kid)'s wish, I left the serenity of my spot in the center. I went over to the wall And waited. Finally the blasters blast, the horn sounds and here come the waves. I'm doing good at first. Keep in mind that I'm still in a knee brace this whole time, trying not to move wrong. Then I get pushed in the face by the wave, I gotta wipe my eyes now, no time!!!!! Another wave knocks me down. I'm trying to get up but everytime I get up, I get knocked right back down It was frickin violent man! I was literally rolling from the "ocean" to the beach area. I got up, felt good, another wave so I hold onto the wall. Its slippery as f!!! I slip right onto my butt. Then the rolling resumes. My bathing suit top is like a tank top. Was planning a MeetUp event to go here on a Saturday morning. Get there and there is a sign on the door saying they are closed for a private event "SORRY FOR THE INCONVENIENCE". It's more than an inconvenience! I was cominging from Peoria, you @*%&$ owe me a half tank of gas and two hours of my Saturday back!!! Had to cancel the event last minute, 12 people's Saturday plans shot in the foot. If you're going to close for a private event, put a banner on your main webpage AND have someone to answer the phones the morning of. I looked on both the webpage and called and there was nothing posted and nobody answering the phones at 9:15 when they say they open at 10. Get home and double checked and there IS a notice on the website. You have to click PLAN YOUR VISIT and then click on SPECIAL EVENTS to see a little 2 inch box notice about it. Do not go here. I took my son and a few family members here for his 3rd birthday. To start, when purchasing the tickets about 3 weeks ago, there was nothing on the website saying half of the slides AND the lazy river were going to be closed. When we arrived we were asking for information from one of the supervisors who was completely rude regarding the closures and said we could just refund all of our tickets if we didn't like that they were closed. The park is incredibly unorganized. There is no official sign showing you the front door. They have water park guests walk through the dark, dirty, and smelly arcade to toll booths that are hidden in a corner to redeem your wrist bands. Following a very confusion check in I was told for the cabana rental I purchased that I would need to go to a different desk on the opposite on the water park to get to our cabana. It took 20 minutes for the girl working the cabana reservations to figure out what to do. All we needed was to be checked in and to be shown where the cabana was. When arriving at the cabana there was trash, the chairs were locked up, all of the shade coverage was broken, and the fan should hardly be called a fan. I've been to many water parks and this one is an absolute disaster. The staff have no idea what's going on, they were rude in return, our cabana seemed like it hadn't been fixed or cleaned in 10 years. I will not be returning and am very disappointed with having to pay what I paid for the low level of cleanliness and staff support. read more

My family goes once a year and has a blast. We will keep going back and I have very few negative things to say. However, I looked for an email address on their website to directly send a suggestion, but didn't see one, so I'll place it here and hope it's seen by management. Yesterday my kids and I waited in line for awhile to ride the Thunderstorm. If you've ever been here you know it's a hike to the top with the massive 4-person tube. My heart broke for a teenage boy in front of us who got all the way to the top, just to be weighed and told he was over the limit. He had to make the sad walk down... shimmying past all of the other kids waiting to ride. I understand this is for safety BUT why not have the weight limits clearly posted at the bottom of the ride? Why not have limits posted (by ride) at the ticket counter with a discreet scale for someone to weigh themselves prior to purchasing their ticket or standing in a long line just to be publicly humiliated? I looked on the website and it's not listed there either. How are families with an obese child supposed to prepare? Please do better and save these kids from that kind of humiliation on a day that's supposed to be exciting and fun. Lastly, when standing in line to get our tickets (about 30 minutes in the AZ heat) I noticed there were actually fans above us but they weren't on. As I looked up, I couldn't believe how nasty they were (see pics). It's likely been years since these were cleaned. Fun, but lacking upkeep. The cabanas need new panels that actually close. We purchased our tickets/cabana rental online but still had to wait in two different lines to get two different wristbands. Then had to wait at the cabana for someone to unlock the chairs. Getting someone to unlock the cabana chairs took 30 minutes of asking passing employees to help us..."sorry. I'm not able to do that" is what each of them told us. I finally made a call where I was told to go stand in line for a third time. When I stated I was not willing to do that since it didn't work the previous two times they finally agreed to send someone over. We ordered food to be delivered and ended up having to call about that as well. Was again told to go pick it up... we paid to have it delivered, why would we load the kids up and walk across the park to pick up an order we placed as a delivery. When I explained this they agreed to deliver it. We were served cold pizza and fries, no plates, napkins or ketchup. When I asked about that I was told "oh you'll have to get that you can't request that on the app" then what's the point of the app or delivery if it's not convenient!? Aren't napkins and plates standard with food!?! Over 400$ spent to feel as tho we are inconveniencing the employees. Pre-ordered Cabana Express Food is terrible. Do not do this. You have to show up at a certain time, everyone has to be together, and they treat you like you're the one with the problem. And I understand that the customer is not always right. And it should be that because many times the customer is wrong. That is not the case this time. Over $500 was spent on this food order. We were told to be there at 12:30. We were there and only half the orders were done. They lied at first about how many orders were prepared. It took almost an hour to gwt all our food. I do not recommend for kids younger than the age of 12. They have very big water tubes there and you have to carry them a very far distance to even get on the ride. I bought season passes for a family of seven and the I was the only person strong enough to carry the tubes to the top solo.
