This is a review for the lessons at Golftech. Took a series with Leigh Ochinero. The lessons were okay at first. Cheap enough that it felt worth it to go and hit balls. But Leigh is pretty limited on what he can actually teach you and is essentially chair bound. I took lessons at Sunken Garden and 30min with an actual PGA pro taught me way more than all the lessons at golftech. The tipping point was when Leigh canceled four weeks in a row (picture included). Decided to cut my losses and just not return. Highly recommend getting actual lessons from your local golf course. Staff at GOLFTECH seemed chill tho. read more

Came in at lunch today to get my driver re-gripped. We decided to drop by and checkout the place since I love supporting the local mom-pop stores and try to avoid any big box retailers. I'm the kind of person that enjoys that 1-1 customer experience and talking to people who specialize in whatever equipment or products they have to offer. My son and I met Matt who helped show us the grips and colors they had available. We went with the same Golf Pride brand as it has the best feel in my opinion. After a few minutes of chatting with Matt, the work was done in the back by another gentlemen and it took less than a few minutes. Talk about fast and efficient. Terry and his staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. When it comes to club repair and maintenance, I am extremely picky about who works on my clubs. Every time I take clubs in for cuts, regrips, reshafts, lie and loft adjustments, they are spot on. The best repair shop in the South Bay! Called when they opened to get a quote for getting a set of steel shafted irons pulled & placed into graphite shafts. The owner Terry tried to answer my questions and explain to me that since I wanted to get used graphite shafts for my irons it may require more work. He politely asked if he could call me back in 10 minutes since he was giving a lesson. (Sign of great customer service to me) I didn't mind and once he called back he explained the cost and got a better idea of what I wanted to do & what I had on hand. Told me to come by in an hour to go drop off my clubs. Arrived and he was with another client giving a lesson but he made his way over to greet me & write down what I wanted as well as my quote. Also let me know that to get the swing weight & everything perfect going from steel to graphite he may charge more but he would text me to let me know. Sent me pictures of the work to be done and the updated quote & told me to come back same time the next day. Went to pick them up & went straight to the range, he did a great job & I highly recommend for any club repairs/club work. My boyfriend went in for 2 lessons, he told me he learned nothing of value and actually messed up his swing for a little bit. The 2 lessons consisted of the same drills. He also said he was 15 minutes into his second lesson and these 2 ladies walked in, Terry proceeded to go help them and never came back. My boyfriend didn't know what to do until Terry finally told him he needed to get off the mats since there was another client coming. Still charged full price too! So i went there asked them about private lessons and price everything. they tried me to swing analysis and lesson one time and if i like teaching style i can keep going and they combine with other lessons, if not pay $65only. So i signed up for 10times lessons first cuz i like them teaching style. They're so kind and try to get me more informations and techniques. I signed up for 5 private lessons with Terry. He did a wonderful job at watching my swing for irons and driver and finding the one or two things that were making my swing inconsistent. The feels were super different, so I had to practice a bunch after (3-4 times a week at the range to lock in the feel). Overall learned to compress my irons a lot better with a controlled swing tempo and got a new address for my driver, significantly reducing my dispersion. Strongly recommend the golf lessons but you better be prepared to practice or else it'll all go to waste. read more

Drove all the way to the store, wanted to buy some Honma drivers and wedges to compliment the set of Irons I just received. The shopkeeper asked me to go and kicked me out. I've been taking lessons from Terry since November 2017 and had a whole-in-one in June 2018. Just a beginner's luck? Possibly but I know Terry has helped me form a solid foundation. My husband tried to get me interested in golf for some years but I couldn't get into it, thinking it's a sports that requires years of training. I was right on that point but, thanks to Terry, I realized that it is a sports you can enjoy at any skill level. I play golf everyday Saturday and Sunday with my husband now. Terry also offers sound advices if you should need any equipment; he won't recommend the "most expensive" one if it's not the right one for you. read more

I first came here a few weeks ago to get a fitted driver, terry hooked me up with a nice driver, sweet deal and told me a few pointers. I decided to go back and get a lesson from him and he did not disappoint. He was really basic which is what I feel everyone needs. Before my shots were all over the place and didn't know why. Best place I've been to for lessons and a swing analysis. They really work with you to get the pros of your current swing and incorporate more fundamentals so you have a sound, repeatable, consistent swing. Some people indicate that the owner is condescending, but what I noticed is that English is not his first language, so there might be a slight misconception. My friend and I were in need of new golf shoes and given the limited selections at Sports Authority and Big 5, we decided to find them in smaller, more specialized golf shops. After reading all the great reviews, we decided to visit this place. Unfortunately, we didn't experience all the great things we read about. It was actually the complete opposite. Upon entering the store, we asked to see their women shoe selection. Before they even showed us their shoe selection, one of the men said (with a very condescending tone): 'We only have ECCO golf shoes, a LUXURY brand. That's all we carry.' As if to imply that we weren't good enough to even look at those shoes. Maybe he felt the need to emphasize that because we were Asian girls in our 20s, but I know that it's certainly no way to speak to any customers (no matter what your assumptions may be). After we told him that we could clearly see that they only carried ECCO shoes, we specified that we only wanted to see the shoes with spikes. He then proceeded to convince us to purchase non-spiked shoes, as if to discount what we had specified to him. He then starts to explain how the big pro golfers all use the non-spiked shoes. When we asked him how much grip the non-spiked shoes would give us he responds with: 'Of course there's grip. These are golf shoes!' (As if we didn't know they were golf shoes.) I did not appreciate his condescending tone and I certainly didn't appreciate how his comments made us seem like imbeciles. He could have handled the situation better by explaining to us WHY we should purchase the non-spiked shoes instead of the spiked ones. And of course it didn't make it any better when the lady interjected to defend him, as if to say we don't deserve their service at all. Needless to say, we didn't buy anything from them. Not because their shoes were a LUXURY brand that we couldn't afford, but because it was one of the worst customer services we had encountered EVER. Unbeknownst to them, we actually did our research before coming to them (and I have actually owned a pair of golf shoes before), so when they said they were selling their shoes for $260+ per pair, I knew we were being ripped off because (the exact same) shoes were much less than that online. I'm really glad we left that place as soon as we could. With such terrible customer service and such a huge markup in their prices, how is this place still in business?! read more

Terry and the rest of the staff are great. I no longer go to other stores because they just can't and don't provide the level of personal customer service that you can get at Golf Tech. After recently moving back to the area with a much improved golf game I wanted to make some significant equipment changes and I don't think I could have found another shop that could have met and exceeded my needs and expectations for the upgrades I have been seeking. While equipment doesn't make good golfers, I can honestly say I have seen improvements in my game due to the confidence I have that my equipment will perform consistently. Terry takes the time to ensure that you get the best possible fit for your game and your budget. Any money you spend here will be well worth it--especially because you will find things here that you just cannot find anywhere else. I not only had Terry re-shaft 10 clubs in my bag, but have purchased a bag from him that gets more comments on the golf course than anything else I own. I wrote a review earlier about Terry's customer service, but I now want to comment on the lessons Terry gives. I've had one lesson, and it was the singlemost best lesson I've had in years! What made it so impactful was the video swing analysis Terry did to identify problem areas in my swing. That took about 10 minutes of discussion and comparison to "ideal" swings on-screen (he recorded everything to computer for instant analysis). Once we finished discussing my swing, we went to the mat, and he showed me a couple of drills. In 15 minutes, my swing was corrected. Went to practice at the range the next day, and I haven't felt this great about my swing for years! read more

It was originally priced at $118 but I got a great deal due to the fact they thought it had a indent in it but turns out it was just apoxy glue.
