Needed to rewire gas lines and run more electricity as well. Sharon and his whole team were great! They are very easy to work with and everything was low stress. He was always there to answer every question and someone from the team was always able to walk me through every process and give great design and construction advice. They were incredibly fast, while keeping it clean. Any minor hiccup was addressed quickly and smoothly, and most importantly on budget. You can tell they take great pride in what they do and actually care about their clients. I like that they're a family-run business as well. This was my first attempt at investing in a rental income property and was very nervous about finding the right contractors to do the job well, for a fair price. I received several other quotes, but so glad I chose CB. David Moshe was my main contact there. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and straightforward about what needed to be done and where potential problems might be. From day one, everything went smoothly and efficiently. I was given a clear work timeline and payment schedule. Was informed about each step as they progressed. It was a tremendous amount of work to be completed in 3 months, which they did. David was patient and understanding with my many requests and questions, and immediately solved any issues that came up. Wish I knew all the names of the crew as well. They were all highly skilled, professional, and respectful of my property. I wouldn't hesitate to use Cavalier Builders for future projects and highly recommend them as well.

They came out the very next day, and Golan was the inspector. He walked me through the entire process and explained everything in detail, including the good and bad things he found, the pros and cons, and what actually needed attention. The house definitely needs some work, but he made it clear that there are solutions and gave me a much better understanding of what the repairs would involve. He also pointed out the good things about the property, which I really appreciated because it wasn't just focused on the negatives. I feel much more confident moving forward with the purchase now that I know what I'm getting into, what can be fixed, and roughly what the repairs may cost. Very grateful for how thorough and helpful he was.

5 stars so far, and I hope to come back and update this review when our ADU is complete!…read more This review reflects our experience through the signing of our ADU contract. Construction has not started yet, so I cannot speak to the building process or the finished product. But everything we have experienced so far has been so positive that I felt Preferred Home Builders truly deserves five stars at this stage. After an extremely frustrating experience with a different contractor, I feel compelled to share what we learned for anyone embarking on the ADU journey: do not fall for charlatans, empty promises, lousy sketches, or requests for too much money upfront. Take your time, ask questions, and look for a professional who is willing to invest the time and expertise needed to understand your project before asking you to commit. That is exactly what we found in Nir at Preferred Home Builders. From our very first meeting, Nir has been professional, punctual, courteous, knowledgeable, and incredibly patient. Before we signed a contract, and before he even knew whether he would get our business, he invested more than 10 hours of in person meetings with us, in addition to extensive email communication. That level of commitment made a huge impression on us. Our ADU site presents some challenges because of the hilly terrain. Nir took the time to understand those challenges, assess them carefully, and come back to us with thoughtful options rather than making unrealistic promises or glossing over potential complications. Another thing that really impressed us was the level of detail that went into the budgeting process. We completed an extensive questionnaire covering everything from major decisions such as windows and doors to seemingly tiny details, such as how many sconces we wanted by the entrance and whether they should be on the left or right. The result was a remarkably detailed budget that leaves very little, if anything, to be figured out later. After our previous experience, the difference has been night and day. So, at this stage of the process, I cannot recommend Preferred Home Builders highly enough. Nir is clearly at the top of his game, and we are very happy to be working with him. I look forward to coming back to update this review once the ADU is completed, hopefully with another five stars and plenty of pictures to share!

We hired this team for a major structural renovation--adding a loft in our high-ceiling living…read moreroom, building a wet bar underneath it, and replacing our kitchen's back door and window with a beautiful bifold door. (Note: The furniture bar cabinets and library were added later on and were not part of this contractor's project). From start to finish, the entire team was extremely professional, dedicated, and highly skilled. On the very first day we met, Nir helped design a 3D view of the project that perfectly captured exactly what we had envisioned. Throughout the build, we had a weekly walkthrough with Nir to check if we had any questions or concerns, which kept communication incredibly clear. Elba was also an excellent project coordinator who was always available to answer our questions and keep everything on track daily. The construction crew themselves were clearly very experienced and knowledgeable; they followed our approved plans meticulously and were happy to accommodate extra requests along the way. You can truly gauge the quality of their work by the fact that every single city inspector visit passed on the first try--nothing ever had to be rescheduled or redone because everything was built perfectly to plan. Additionally, all of the finishes--from the drywalling to the trim work and paint--were done with high-quality materials and top-tier craftsmanship. Overall, it was a great experience, and we highly recommend them!

His crew is responsive and hardworking, and when my timeline got tight, Franklin didn't hesitate to step in himself and get his hands dirty to keep things on track. He was very fair with his pricing and never took advantage of changes that came up along the way. His attitude of "no problems, only solutions" was a huge stress relief for me throughout the project. I had several bids from other contractors, but my gut told me to go with Franklin -- and I'm so glad I listened. Eileen, his daughter, was also fantastic to deal with. Their communication was excellent: they always picked up the phone, always made time to come to the job site if I had questions or concerns, and always made me feel like my project mattered. I'm incredibly thankful I found Franklin and wouldn't hesitate for a second to use him again.

I had to go to his bond company and CSLB to complain them to ask them come back. The newest gaps I found during painting project made my experience even worser, please see the photos then you know what I am talking about. The mistakes that they have made. 1. Made the roof eves shorter, the original ones were 24 inches, but they only made 18 inches. They blamed my structural engineer but lack of document support. After I escalated this issue and others to his bond company and CSLB, they came back to extend the rafter and added a soffit which made the appearance really bad. 2. They demolished a wall between the kitchen and sunroom, which should be kept. 3. They cut the water supply pipes(both cold and hot) and sewer line from underground to the wall and didn't seal them. when I turned on the water, the water came from underground. I had to spend $1,700 to hire a professinal plumber to reroute these pipes which should not need to. 4. They made the kitchen window opening lower than usual, it is too low that i even can not put a sink under the windows. I had to uninstall the new window, ask them come back to move the opening higher, then reinstall the new window. I spent $100 for uninstallation and another $250 to reinstall it. 5. During the painting of the eaves, the painters found lots of unusual gaps and took photos for me. They told me never hire them again. When i forwarded these photo to them, they declined to fix them and ask me to hire painters to patch them. The painters cannot do it since the gaps are so big and they used scrap wood to make the ending work.
