We love working with Danny. We've now hired him and his team for three projects: replacing exterior doors and repairing drywall, replacing our HVAC system and ducts, and removing two ficus trees and installing a concrete pad for a shed. His team is professional, the work has been excellent, and Danny makes the whole process easier on us as homeowners. The doors and drywall came out beautifully, during that project recommended a shade mesh above our hot tub, and installed it free of charge (great recommendation). With the new HVAC and ductwork, our house now heats much more evenly than it did before. He also replaced the large, unattractive platform under our old rooftop unit with a much smaller, nicer-looking one and did a flawless job repairing the roof around it. He's not once asked us for a change order. What really makes us recommend Danny, though, is how he handles problems. Our new HVAC wasn't working on a very hot day in August. Before we even asked, and before he knew what was causing the problem, he offered to pay for a hotel room that night and brought over an AC unit to try to cool our bedroom. When he discovered the next day that the problem was a wiring issue on his team's end, he told us directly and got it taken care of. We really appreciated both the honesty and the fact that his first instinct was to help us, at his own expense, before he even knew whether the issue was his responsibility. On another occasion, when we mentioned some very minor property damage caused by his crew and specifically said we weren't asking to be compensated, he reimbursed us anyway. We really appreciate not having to argue or chase someone down to make things right. He's also a genuinely thoughtful person. He offered to put up a mezuzah for us at no charge. Our daughter was born early the day before the tree-removal project, and Danny handled the work while we were in the hospital. The finished project came out perfectly, and he even got us a balloon and chocolate to celebrate her arrival. Those personal touches aren't something we expect from a contractor, but we certainly appreciate them. Danny isn't the cheapest, but we feel the quality of the work and the attention he gives his customers are worth paying for. He knows what he's talking about, gives us straight answers, and follows through. Beyond all of that, we just enjoy working with him. We're now preparing for our next project with Danny: finally converting our garage into an ADU. Having worked with him on three projects already, we feel really good about trusting him with this one. We would absolutely recommend him. read more

We had an excellent experience with Danny and My Cali Builders installing artificial turf at our rental property in Thousand Oaks. What made this project especially important to us was that we managed the entire job remotely from our home in Northern California. Danny made that process remarkably easy. He communicated consistently, answered every question thoroughly, sent frequent photos and videos, and kept us informed throughout the preparation and installation. We never felt out of the loop. The quality of the work was outstanding. Their team removed the existing decomposed granite, properly prepared and graded the area, installed and compacted a base, added the weed barrier, carefully laid and trimmed the turf around curved borders and existing stepping stones, secured the edges and seams, applied the upgraded zeolite infill, and power-broomed the finished surface. They clearly cared about the details--not just whether it looks good on installation day. Danny also stood out during the bidding process. We received several quotes, and he was transparent about the exact turf product, specifications, backing, base preparation, and infill options. He did not simply recommend the most expensive upgrade. Instead, he explained what he believed was the best balance of durability, appearance, and long-term value for a family rental property. That honesty gave us a great deal of confidence. The finished yard looks great. The turf has a lush, natural appearance, the curved edges and transitions were handled beautifully, and the existing pavers, mature landscaping, and black lava-rock planter areas were preserved and integrated very well. Most importantly, our tenants are thrilled with the result, and so are we. Danny and his crew were professional, responsive, easy to work with, and clearly took pride in doing a quality job. Managing a major landscaping project from several hundred miles away could have been stressful, but they made it straightforward and reassuring. We would absolutely recommend My Cali Builders to anyone considering artificial turf or outdoor improvements. They earned every one of these five stars. read more

After being treated badly by two previous contractors and wasting a significant amount of money on work that added little value to our properties, we knew we couldn't afford another mistake. Ironically, both of those contractors had been recommended by people we knew. That experience taught us an important lesson: we needed to do our own research and find someone we could truly trust. Danny was actually my favorite candidate from the beginning when I started collecting bids in late 2023. His quote wasn't the cheapest, and at first I questioned the price. Later, Danny explained something he called the "salami tactic." Some contractors intentionally submit low bids by leaving out critical work that inexperienced homeowners don't know to ask for. Those missing items eventually become expensive change orders, and the surprises never seem to end. We experienced exactly that. One previous contractor knew our electrical system couldn't support the appliances we planned to install, yet he simply said, "Anything you want." The project looked good on the surface, but it wasn't done properly. We eventually had to open finished walls again just to upgrade the electrical system. What I appreciate most about Danny is his honesty. He never told us what we wanted to hear just to win the job. He explained what actually needed to be done, why it mattered, and what could happen if shortcuts were taken. Sometimes those conversations weren't easy, but looking back, he was protecting our investment, not trying to increase the bill. Throughout the project, Danny communicated clearly, answered every question patiently, and treated our renovation as if it were his own. When unexpected issues came up--as they often do in a 100-year-old building--he didn't disappear or make excuses. He solved them. Even after the project was substantially completed, he came back to address the remaining punch-list items. That level of responsibility is rare. Today we have a duplex we're truly proud of, and more importantly, we have confidence that it was built correctly and safely. If you're looking for the lowest bid, Danny may not always be your contractor. But if you're looking for honesty, integrity, craftsmanship, and someone who genuinely cares about your project, I can recommend Danny and the entire MY CALI BUILDERS team without hesitation. After everything we've experienced over the past few years, earning our trust was not easy. Danny and his team earned it. read more

We couldn't be happier with our new backyard overhang , grill area and outdoor living space. From start to finish, the entire experience was excellent. The project was completed on time and on budget, which is surprisingly rare these days. What really stood out was the owner's involvement. He consistently supervised the crew, communicated well throughout the project, and made sure every detail was done right. The craftsmanship and attention to detail are outstanding, and the finished product looks even better than we imagined. The biggest compliment I can give is that we use our backyard so much more now. The covered patio has completely transformed the space into an area we can enjoy throughout the day, whether we're grilling, watching TV, or just relaxing with family and friends. If you're looking for a contractor who is professional, reliable, honest, and delivers high-quality work, I highly recommend them. We'd absolutely use them again for future projects. read more

I had a great experience working with this contracting company on remodeling my office, kitchen, as well as adding a brand new conference room!! We are very happy! From the beginning, they were easy to work with, listened to what I wanted, and communicated clearly throughout the entire project, so I always knew exactly what they were doing each day. The quality of their work turned out really incredibly, including small details like cleaning the glass windows after install and sweeping up small pieces of drywall. Overall, I'm very happy with the results and would definitely recommend them to to my friends and family on any contracting project they may need in the future. I can't speak highly enough of My Cali Builders and the work they do. We originally found Danny on Yelp, and after reading all of the positive reviews, we felt comfortable having him out to give us a quote. We had a rotting post that needed to be replaced, along with some areas of wood rot. When Danny came out, he immediately identified the core issues, including how the sagging roof-line was tied to the damaged post. He walked us through exactly what needed to be done, how long it would take, and how many workers would be on the job. He was very thorough in explaining each step. Danny and his team not only followed through on everything promised, they went above and beyond. The crew on our project, Francisco and Oscar, were excellent. They showed up early every day, worked steadily, and took real pride in their work. They weren't rushing to finish; they focused on every detail. The care they took to match the wood and paint to the rest of the house was impressive and very much appreciated. Danny kept both my father and I updated every day with progress and next steps, which gave us a lot of peace of mind throughout the process. If you have a repair you need done and you want it done correctly, you'll be very happy with Danny and his team at My Cali Builders. I had the pleasure of working with Danny Raz from My Cali Builders Inc. for a project in North Hills, CA. Danny was punctual, professional, and incredibly informative. He clearly explained all of my options along with the pricing for each, which I greatly appreciated--it's rare to find someone who takes the time to present thoughtful solutions rather than pushing a single option. While we were discussing the North Hills project, I received an urgent call from my office about a water heater that needed to be replaced in Los Angeles--about 40 miles away. I asked Danny if he could take on the job, and without hesitation, he said yes. Not only did he take on the additional project last-minute, but his pricing was also very competitive. Thank you, Danny, for your professionalism, flexibility, and problem-solving attitude. I highly recommend My Cali Builders Inc. to anyone in need of a reliable, honest contractor. read more

Honest, Fair, and a Great Partner for our Home Projects We interviewed multiple contractors for our home project--some we found on Yelp and Google and others recommended by friends--but we ended up going with Danny at My Cali Builders, and we are so glad we did. We ultimately chose Danny based on his fairness, congeniality, and his excellent reviews. From day one, his directness and transparency stood out. He really took the time to work with us to understand our concepts, designs, and specific needs. Beyond just executing the work, he acted as a true advisor, helping us understand what was possible (and what wasn't) and advising us on how to smartly phase our projects. Super happy with Danny and the crew for our 'curb appeal' remodel. If you've done any remodeling in the last 10 years, you'll know how frustrating it is to work with shady Southern California contractors (endless delays, being ghosted, inferior work, etc. etc.). Thankfully, My Cali Builders has restored my faith in contractors and I would give them a call if you're considering a project. We originally contacted them for a back yard remodel, but we changed our plans and decided to do the front of the house instead. They were very accommodating with the change, and they finished on time and on budget. See the pics for the before and after. read more

I used the Yelp bids function to find a construction company for a new roof. I got about 15 replies, and from that 5 bids. These bids ranged in quality from a handwritten invoice with a flat rate and no detail (and a side of sexual harassment!) , to the detailed breakdown of anticipated costs I got from My Cali Builders. It included a side of a literal education in navigating the complex world of permitted construction in Los Angeles county. My Cali Builders demonstrated clear and effective knowledge about every aspect of a roofing job, including a ton of stuff I never would have thought of. From the permitting procedure to their approach to clearing the homesite of debris after the construction My Cali Builders had a plan. The crew was nimble and incredibly quick at their. Jobs. We had bad weather, illness and an unexpected last minute request from the inspectors. It was all handled perfectly - with me receiving texts with exactly the info I needed in a nearly instant manner. Furthermore - the work is gorgeous. They took a patchwork roof that was 6 layers deep in places and made a glorious top fit for a castle. Working with My Cali Builders was a joy at every step. The iron gate to my side yard was nearly stuck shut making it nearly impossible to open or close. Very annoying. I requested My Cali Builders to evaluate the situation and offer options on how to repair it. Danny, the owner of the business met me to do just that. I signed the agreement and he scheduled repairs the following day. Hunter showed up to do the work, and was done in two hours. From start to finish, these guys were professional, courteous, and focused on delivering a solution that worked, and with high quality. After speaking with Danny via Yelp messenger and text I decided to call Danny to talk a little bit more about the project. Danny was very informative, understanding and offered great advice. We spoke about a few different options with the roof, what our problem was and some more details about longevity and previous work done. After coming to a solution I felt most confident going with Cali Builders based off their reviews, their price and just overall working with Danny! Excellent customer service! Outstanding! We hired My Cali Builders to install pavers in our barren backyard just over a week ago. Danny was very responsive and understood what we were looking for in the project. He was friendly and communicative, and the price and schedule he quoted was the best we received after talking to several other contractors. Not only did Danny and his team install our beautiful new patio, but we also asked him to install gutters on our home. Going above and beyond, Danny went ahead and provided screens on the gutters on the side of the house that has some overhanging trees! I am so happy we went with Danny and his team for this. I began my Yelp search for a company to perform structural repairs and ultimately chose 5 companies, scheduling each of them for a representative to visit and discuss my needs. I chose My Cali Builders based upon Danny's (owner) review of the work and how he defined the scope of the work. The other representatives vacillated on the scope of the work and attached various caveats. My Cali Builders also gave me the best bid. So I hired them and boy, am I glad I did. Work was performed quickly, efficiently and the finish work was excellent. Every task I initially discussed with Danny was completed. Danny's crew including Francisco and Jaime, were top notch and pleasant. Each day, refuse and trash were removed.
