One Saturday afternoon, my siblings and I wanted to check out another restaurant in the Suwanee area. However, it turned out that this other restaurant only opens for dinner on Saturdays (yeah, really) because they're "so popular that they don't need to open for lunch." Yup, the employee or owner (whoever) was inside the restaurant and told us that as he was busy with a catering order. So their loss was another restaurant's gain since we were starving. We arrived at Golden Seven Thai & Chinese Cuisine right around 3 pm. There were no other customers - just me and two of my siblings. After taking a quick glance at the menu, we sadly realized that their lunch had literally *just* ended at 3 pm. Although I was 98% sure that we wouldn't be able to order off the lunch menu, I still decided to ask our server if they would let us order lunch specials. He politely told us to hold on while he went to the back and asked (either the manager or owner, I presume). A few minutes later, he gave us the good news that yes, they would still allow us to order the lunch specials. How awesome is that?!! Too cool. I ordered my usual Thai dish - Red Curry with chicken - while my siblings ordered Pad Thai with chicken and General Tso's Chicken. Most lunch specials are served with white rice and a veggie spring roll. However, white rice is not served with noodle and rice dishes. Although I do not see this on their lunch menu online, we were also provided our choice of either Hot & Sour soup or Egg Drop soup. I chose the Egg Drop soup as I'm not a fan of the Hot & Sour. * Egg Drop Soup - Yum. This simple soup was seasoned just right and sprinkled with a bit of chopped green onions. The bright yellow color was a little different than I'm used to, but it tasted good and that's what counts. =) My younger sister ordered the Hot & Sour soup and enjoyed it. The server also brought us complimentary fried wonton chips which were a crunchy and a tasty addition to our soups. As we were finishing our soups, our entrees were served. * Red Curry (Kang Ped) w/Chicken (Lunch - $8.95) - Per the menu description, this curry contains "Bell pepper, bamboo shoots, onion, snap bean and basil leaves in coconut milk" with chicken. On the spiciness scale, I believe I ordered the medium (scale of mild, medium, spicy, Thai spicy). I don't recall it being too spicy and probably should have ordered spicy instead. Either way, the curry was yummy. The thing that would have made it better (in my opinion) was if it was a little thicker in consistency. * Pad Thai w/Chicken (Lunch - $7.95) - Although I'm not a huge fan of Pad Thai, I do enjoy eating it occasionally and tried some of my sister's. This dish of "Traditional stir-fry thin rice noodles with bean sprout onion and egg" was nicely flavored and not too sweet as it often can be. * General Tso's Chicken (Lunch - $6.95) - I had never tried this Chinese chicken dish until my sister recommended it to my brother that day. The chicken pieces are deep-fried then tossed in a sweet, slightly spicy sauce with chili peppers, peas, and carrots. This version was served with some steamed broccoli. Although this was good, it wasn't as "mind-blowing" as my sister made it out to be. =) The veggie spring roll was just "meh." It was just a plain ol' fried spring roll. I think it would have tasted better with some sauce, but we didn't specifically request some. (Note: If you check in on Yelp, you can get free veggie spring rolls. However, they won't allow you to get it with any other deals or specials, which includes the lunch. Still have my deal to use...) Overall, Golden Seven Thai & Chinese Cuisine gets 4 stars for their good food and friendly service. The lunch specials are great values for the amount of food you get, so I definitely recommend this place for lunch. If it wasn't so far away, I'd probably go back sooner. Quite place and clean environment. The service is quick and the server is friendly. The food is cooked very well and not greasy. I recommend the general Sao chicken and basil fried rice. read more

My family and I had beef stir fry with guest. at first we were going to order chicken dished so but the waiter insisted that we try the beef because it was "better" It turns out that she was trying to make uys buy something that was old and id not taste fresh. The beef was sour and very old. The lady who was our waiter was very very rude. We also ordered fried shrimp and scallops. When our platter of Shrimp And scallops came out we only got shrimp. We called back the lady to take it back but she said that she saw scallops but there weren't any. She thought we ate them! The chef even said that there were scallops. We were very dissapointed. She brought out the scallops and only gave us 2. what cheap poursions considering we paid $12 for the dish. it turns out since we had 6 people 18% of grattutude was allready added. The service is always quick and great, but it is the friendliness that varies...some of the wait staff act like smiling hurts their faces!! Both the Chinese and Thai options are full of flavor and huge portions. I've had many of their soups, and they make an awesome hot & sour. Reasonably priced as well. Got an order to-go for the free concert. Very cute restaurant in a great location. Pleasantly surprised at the generous portion. A little pricey for Panag Curry but it's a meal for 2 days! My friends portion of chicken was very very generous for a couple to share. Spiciness was good but it was missing tang that I usually taste in Panang. My husband and I have a difficult time finding great Asian food options in Gwinnett and often have to drive to Chamblee for real flavor. But we love this restaurant and are so happy we found it! This restaurant is located in the Suwanee Town Center right near the franchise chain stores. Most people come to Suwanee to hang out and be seen so I can see why the local clientele does not appreciate the authentic flavor of this restaurant. It is probably not the ideal location for this ethnic flavor. We ordered some appetizers and shared two entrees. To start my husband ordered a cup of the Tom yum soup - Thai spicy. You can choose your degree of hot and he agreed. Thai hot here is VERY hot. The soup included fresh cut mushrooms and tasted great to him. His only suggestion was to ask the server for a lime wedge to squeeze on it since it was missing the normal citrus flavor. It is a small adjustment for an amazing soup. I ordered the crab ragoons which were crispy and fresh. The fun part is that it was served in a boat! I ordered the fried fish panang house special. The panang sauce is peanut based and has a rich flavor. The sauce came in a variety of heat degrees. I ordered medium heat which was actually quite hot but so yummy. I do not know what I loved better: the sauce or the perfectly fried HUGE piece of fish. It was so tender and despite being covered in the sauce it was still crispy. Just like the fish I had when I was in Thailand. It is the dish that represents the flavors, size, and freshness like food in Thailand. My hubby ordered some dish that is authentic Thai that is rare to find in most Thai restaurants so he was amazed it was cooked perfectly and had fresh ingredients. Our server was very sweet and helpful. The restaurant was empty at 3:30pm on this Thursday afternoon but she treated us with great attention and was excited we loved the food as much as she does. Buffalo wings are good and meaty. I was disappointed that they took Massaman curry off the to-go menu. Instead, I got green curry, but I didn't see any snap beans in it. After a fun evening of playing Pokemon Go in Suwanee Town Center, my girlfriend and I decided to grab dinner at Golden Seven. The place is cute and has good food, especially panang curry. They also have a pretty great deal: one appetizer, two entrees, and a dessert for $20. We passed on the deal, because there were no Thai dishes from the entree pick list. Instead, we ordered the Basil Rolls, Pad Thai with Chicken, and Panang Curry with Chicken. Whatever you decide to get, I recommend it with chicken. Their chicken was so tender. Probably the best chicken (in terms of texture) I've had in Asian food. - Basil Rolls: Good enough, but I've had better. Most places have both pork and shrimp, but they only put in shrimp. There might be an option to get both, but it wasn't obvious. - Pad Thai with Chicken: Pretty good. As I've already mentioned, the chicken here is really soft and tender. However, other than the chicken, my girlfriend and I were both disappointed by the limited amount of eggs, scallions, and bean sprouts. My girlfriend also said it tasted like ketchup, but I thought it was fine. - Panang Curry with Chicken: Yum! I'd come back to Golden Seven to order this again. The curry here is thicker (still thin) than some of the curry at other Thai restaurants. Again, the chicken in the curry was amazing~ Overall, the curry had good flavor and texture with a good amount of vegetables. It might be my go-to place for Thai curry cravings. This review is for delivery. I'm a fan of American Chinese food and Golden Seven Two really delivers in all ways. Food arrived extremely hot which was great. Kung Pao and Sweet and Sour were both fresh tasting and delicious and you can choose heat level for Kung Pao. They have some great Crab Rangoons as well that are creamy and delicious. Basically, this is a solid Chinese delivery in a sea of more mediocre choices. Will definitely order from them again. read more

A good start. So here I am, bed-ridden because of my head, but I wanted something spicy, and they had to bring it to me because I am unable to drive because of said "head" problem. Delivery pizza in this area is your typical Poopa Johns, Dumbinos, Juany's, etc... No pizza tonight. I want Asian. So Yelp tells me that there's a delivery place that has Chinese AND Thai locally, AND I can order online with Yelp's 24hr thingy. That's cool. Their menu is typical for the Gwinnett area, except they have a decent looking Thai selection. Wanting to play it safe on this go'round, I ordered something a "little" off the reservation (not by much mind-you), but I saw those cold spring/basil rolls so I have to have them (it's hard to mess these up) The order-app thingy stated up to an hour wait, but as another Yelper stated, the food arrived MUCH quicker (around 30min.) so this fat-boy was eating sooner-than-later. The food was better than I had expected, but I think this go'round had me playing it safe. Next time I order, I am going to try something a little different. I have been here a 4 times at the time of writing this review. Like most of my other reviews, I have only been here for lunch. As far this place has a great location on the main walk of the Suwanee town center. Since there are other restaurants on this street, you might not find parking right next to Golden Seven but there will be parking. The finish of this place is better than similar restaurants. What I mean by that is, the décor is a bit classier, the no chips on the dishes and so on. The dining room is not very big; consider 10 to be an upper limit for group size. The lunch menu consists of 2 sides. On one side is the Chinese menu with the usually dishes of orange chicken and Hunan beef. The other has the Thai with the Pad Thai and such. I have dishes on both side and I prefer the Thai menu. My personal favorite is the Massaman curry which like most dishes is served with soup and an egg roll for lunch. I particularly like the ratio of protein to non-protein, most other places have too much non-protein for my taste. The food is good and has brought be back a couple times. Being a bit more upscale expect to pay more for a comparable dish than other nearby Chinese restaurants. Overall this place is 3.5 -3.75 stars. I feel this place is a bit pricey but only by the smallest of margins. They have decent service with good food and haven't let me down. read more

Golden Seven was great! The restaurant was small (I guess you could call it "intimate") and would be cozy for a date night. I went with my best friend and I went Thai while she did the Chinese. We both loved our food. I had veggie spring rolls to start (free with my yelp check in, holla!) and the chicken pad thai for dinner. Both were tasty. It wasn't super cheap, but it didn't break the bank either. I think it was about $10, which I would say is standard for dinner at a Chinese restaurant. The staff was really attentive and helpful, refilling water often and bringing out our food quickly. Megan had egg drop soup and sesame chicken. She seemed to like it, but I didn't try it so I can't really attest to the Chinese food. The location was really nice because we could walk off our full bellies in the Suwanee Town Center and make room for some froyo. This was my second experience with Golden Seven, and unfortunately, it wasn't as stellar as the first. We decided to get some takeout after seeing a movie (Zero Dark Thirty - much better than I expected) over at the Discovery Mills Mall on Sunday night. I called ahead on our way to the restaurant, and placed an order for chicken lettuce wraps, hot braised pork and fried rice. Good deal. When we arrived, the two people manning the register in the back had no recollection of our order whatsoever. Did we call the other location? Nope. Did they have any record of taking the order? Nope. Hmm... It wasn't a big deal, but not the greatest way to start off either. The place was completely empty (which isn't surprising for a cold Sunday night), but it's cute inside: nice decor, white tablecloths for all the tables, a bar along one wall with a good alcohol selection and a great view of the Suwanee Town Center square. About 20 minutes later we walked out with our order and headed home. When we got home, all the food was still hot, but it wasn't that tasty. Here's what I wasn't impressed with: the lettuce for the chicken lettuce wraps wasn't the freshest (some leaves were limp and one was a little brown in places), the hot braised pork was actually battered and fried (there was no description of this on the menu - I like my meat tasting like meat, not fried dough with a tiny dot of meat in the middle) and the fried rice was just lackluster (no pieces of egg, carrot or peas, or extra flavor in there). The kicker is that I was really looking forward to this because we'd gotten takeout once before: potstickers and a couple of other dishes that I can't quite remember, but they were really tasty. So I was more than a little disappointed this fell so far short. I know I can't win 'em all, but this was a serious bummer. And with so many other Chinese restaurants to choose from, I may take my order elsewhere next time. read more

I was really sad when my family's favorite Chinese restaurant (Chin Chin Mu Lan) down the road closed. Luckily, we stumbled upon this after a recommendation from a friend! The menu is extensive. They have Chinese, Vietnamese, and Thai options. So many choices. It's hard to decide what to order! Good: panang curry, shrimp fried rice (this was ordered off the Chinese menu but tasted more like a spicy Thai fried rice), hunan chicken So-so: Tofu lettuce wraps, vegetarian spring rolls, hot and sour soup The service was good. The location is prime. I'm happy that we found a place with satisfying Chinese food and I'm relieved that I don't have to go all the way downtown when I'm craving Thai. So my boyfriend and I decided to check out the Suwanee food trucks and decided to eat inside since it was so muggy out. We stumbled upon a Chinese/Thai restaurant and decided to check it out. The restaurant is quaint and small. Service was decent but not exceptional. My boyfriend's water glass had something on it that looked like dried food. Ewww. Anyway we decided to try some of our favorites to compare to some of our favorite Thai restaurants. Sadly they just didn't compare. The basil spring rolls did not have the option of peanut sauce. What Thai restaurant doesn't have peanut sauce?! Anyway they were decent but not super fresh. I decided on the Pad Thai with tofu for dinner and asked for Thai spicy. The food was really just okay but the spice was pretty good. It didn't have that great flavor to it and just tasted okay despite looking pretty.
