I came in to take off acrylic nails and manicure afterwards. The nail tech was sucking her teeth and sighing the entire time. It was obvious that she was in a rush and kept trying to pry it off. I told her to stop because it hurt. Obviously, if I wanted that method to be done I could have soaked my nails in nail polish remover and done that at home. Anyway, she continued to keep sucking her teeth until it was "done". She still left a chunk of the acrylic left. Never will be back. read more

It usually takes a lot for me to give someone a bad review but I had the absolute WORST experience at this place. I've been there a handful of times before and I was never extremely happy when I left but I usually have atleast one complaint. Against my better judgement I came here for a fill. I have a gel overlay over my nails and they had grown extremely long so I asked for a fill and a cut down. My first indication to get up and walk out of the door should have been when I asked the lady (I think her name was Kim) for a cut down and she took the nail clippers and cut my nails flat across when they are rounded/oval. I looked down and noticed that she had not cleaned her station between her last client and myself and there were nasty, old looking, thick, BROWN nail clippings on the table. DISGUSTING!! She started drilling my nails and noticed that some of the acrylic had raised up from my nail bed. Instead of just clipping the raised acrylic and continuing to drill like PROFESSIONAL shops do, she took her own finger nail, slid it under my nail and POPPED the acrylic off pulling my nail off with it!!! She did it without even thinking about it. I asked her if she realized that those were MY nails and that I did not wear tips to which she replied, "Only one tip." SMH. She glued a fake nail on the one she broke and then started filling them in. She was using way too much acrylic and my nails ended up super thick. She also made the fake nail that she put on twice as long as all the other nails and the shape.... don't even get me started. She asked me if I wanted them square and I told her I wanted them rounded just like they were when I came in. Some of my nails are square with oval ends, some of them are shaped like triangles, some of them are round. On top of that she kept trying to push me to try a nail color that I didn't want. I ended up telling her to paint them clear and left the shop extremely disappointed. I will NEVER go there again.... ever. I should have just went with my gut instinct and spent the extra time, gas and money and went to Lovely Hair N' Nails in Wheaton Mall. I suggest you all do the same. read more

Worst experience ever! If you can avoid this place! NOT go in!!! Second time going here first one no happy so I wanted give 2nd chance! But not good idea; Receptionist so rude! Nail technician also rude, I was waiting for Brazilian waxing inside of the rooms, it was dirty but the worst was a cockroach on the wall !!!! I left the room then told to the receptionist and she says: "It is just a cockroach" !!! That she will cleaned, so zero sanitation at this place! I think hygiene is so important in places like this!!! read more

Just plain terrible. I had a gel manicure from Kimmy. I felt completely rushed. She didn't want to wait for my polish completely soak off, so she used the electric file on my very thin nails. She filed my nails roughly and I had to show her some snags and a split and ask her to take care of them. She was so quick that the light didn't go a full minute before she made me switch hands. Fortunately, I was dry. After I left I noticed a bubble on one nail. I also had to take my file out and smooth a couple of snags. I'd go back and demand a redo, but don't want to have to sit through a soak off and have her sand my nails again. The place doesn't look very clean and I never saw an autoclave for cleaning instruments. Never again. I'm going back to Avalon in Leisure World where they treat you right for just a little more money. read more

I went here because my normal nail tech is out of the country (usually go up to Frederick) and I couldn't wait. I told the lady I wanted a pink and white fill. She started talking to someone else in another language and the other person came over, lifted up white french manicure paint and said we'll use this. I said no that's ok (not trusting them since they obviously don't know what pink and white is) just do the pink fill. Well then she uses a pink acylic that is too light compared to my last fill. I think there are 3 different pink shades, light, medium and dark. I get medium and she used light. Ok I can deal with that, not too noticeable. But then she didn't cut away any of the loose corners of the nails, leaving bubbles under the nails. And she wasn't a licensed nail technician, she was a licensed cosmetologist. She burnt my cuticles several times. It was cheap though so I can't complain about being overcharged. Now a week later my thumb nail literally broke in half. Not bothering to go back, I'll wait for my normal guy and pay more. read more

DO NOT COME HERE! DO NOT! I just went here today and if I could give zero stars I promise you I would. The staff is very disrespectful and they do not care about their customers at all!! I got a gel pedicure today and I have gotten gel pedicures several times including one previous time at this same place. Last time, the woman cut me on my big toe and this time the woman allowed me to feel a burning sensation on my foot when she put the gel machine over my toes. Out of all the times I have gotten a gel pedicure, my feet NEVER felt like that. I told her on several occasions that the machine was burning me and she looked at me and said "ok" and placed the machine back on. If I'm paying $35 for their service, it better be worth my money and time. She finished my toes and when I went to pay I told her I will pay $30 and not the $35 since she let the machine sting my toes. She then says how she didn't do anything and it wasn't her fault it was the machines fault. She calls the other worker of the salon to the front and one goes on saying I was supposed to let her know that the machine was burning me and that she has gotten her nails done here and the machine has never burned her. I then tell her she was not the person sitting in the chair so she CANNOT tell me how MY experience went. Another woman who says that I have to pay the full price because the nails are done. I told her I am not paying $35 for being burnt. If I wanted to be burned, I could have burned myself at home and that wouldn't cost me a thing! The woman who did my toes then picks up the phone holds it in her hand and threatens to call the police if I do not pay the $35. I ask to speak to the manager and the manager just so happens to be the lady who told me I had to pay the $35, and she steps up to me pounding on her chest saying "me!" as if she wants to fight!!! VERY UNPROFESSIONAL, as I was cool and calm the whole time. To avoid any further hassle, I paid the $35 and they went about speaking in their own language and I told them if they have something to say speak english. I've never written a yelp review before but after my last experience here I feel compelled to. I've been going to Golden Nails for a little while now because it was so close to home, however I will not be returning. I showed up let the guy (who seems to be in charge) know that I needed a fill and was told the wait would be 10-15 minutes. I picked my polish, sat down and waited. I seemed to have been forgotten even though 2 technicians were available because everyone had their back turned to the front door watching the World Cup game. No one came to check if I had been taken care of. I was still there 30 minutes later because I was waiting for my sister and only one technician asked if I still wanted a fill, I kindly said no and left when my sister was ready. I don't expect employees to flock towards me and wait on me hand and foot but this was ridiculous. They've lost a customer. read more

Worst place !! I wish I could post a picture of my nails I kept telling the lady to fix this and that. I felt like after everything I had to tell her to fix they would look better but I didn't pay attention till I left. My right index finger nail is all slanted not how I wanted. The left hand nails are longer then the right ! The lady didn't even measure them and when I went back if I could get my money back they looked at me as if I'm crazy and started talking their language. BEWARE!!! This place is horrible please believe the reviews!! I never waste time giving reviews especially negative ones but I had to because I really don't want someone to go thru what I went thru. First time I went was years ago and I was unsatisfied so I never went back. Fast forward to this past Saturday I was in a wedding later on that day so I wanted a fresh fill in......so this place was closest to my house and it was convenient.....WORSE FILL IN EVER the woman that did my nails was Kim. She filed my nails done so roughly it hurt so bad I thought my natural nail was gonna bleed and possibly come off never in my life has a nail tech done that to my nails she did not ask if I wanted them cut short so when I told her I wanted them shorter she said 3 extra dollars...like what?! she did a horrible job with the paint as well only two thin coats I had to tell her to put on another one. She rushed thru so quickly she does not care about if you like them or are satisfied...The worse part is she asked if I wanted to pay in the middle of her doing them I said yes just because I wanted to get that over with and not have to reach in my purse smh if I would have waited till the end I wouldn't have paid or give tip!!!.My nail chipped that same day DO NOT GO HERE!! They suck and honestly I don't understand why they are still in business...I got my fill in on Saturday its now Wednesday and I took them off cause they looked that horrible $18 in the trash...save your money you could somewhere else in wheaton for cheaper with better results!! read more

I have never posted a review for any business before but this experience was so bad I had to say something. While reading this review, it is important to know that I am a black woman and was the only person of color in that establishment. I was looking for a salon to remove my acrylic nails and get a manicure. Before I walked in, there were two younger Asian girls that received service before me. The receptionist asked them what color they wanted and politely told them to have a seat and they would be helped shortly. When it was my turn, the receptionist took a very long time to attend to me. While he was on the phone and doing other miscellaneous work, I was patient and waited for him to be ready. Then, in a dismissive way, asked me what I wanted. I politely told him I was looking to get my acrylics removed and before I could even finish my sentence he told me that the wait would be over an hour and they were too busy. Mind you, they had not told the other girls before me that. They only told this to me. I then told him I was looking to get them removed and get a manicure, and that of course I would pay for it. I thought he assumed I wanted them taken out for free and made sure he knew I was going to pay. He still proceeded to be dismissive and rude, saying that they were too busy and the wait would be an hour. Another employee shouted those same things to me, but I did not see who it was at the time. I politely left the nail salon, shocked and disappointed that this behavior still happens in 2017. I have never been treated like this by any business, let alone nail salons. I do not recommend this place because of their shameless racism and obscenely rude customer service. read more
