The amount of times I've driven across the river to get Golden Gelato is laughable at this point. They are always friendly and will let you try a couple samples. The flavors are great and love the new flavors weekly to sprinkle in with the staples. The texture is so smooth! My wife and I enjoy sitting at the window seat in the main shop, but plenty of extra seats in the space attached. I almost didn't want to review because I want to gate keep but this place is just amazing and I think everyone should try it.
My son and his friends enjoy outings to Covington. After taking me out for a Mother's Day Brunch, we walked about a block away because he thought I would really enjoy the gelato at Golden Gelato. It was a quaint shop with all of these wonderful flavors. Truly, it's hard to decide. I sampled two flavors and got a medium-sized container with a scoop of Biscoff and a scoop of Pistachio. They are two of my favorites and they did not disappoint. The Biscoff gelato is smooth and creamy with a light cookie flavor. You get a bit of cinnamon and caramel, like the taste of a Biscoff cookie. Pistachio Gelato was delicious. The pistachio flavor is soft and real--not fake or too strong. It's simple, smooth, and a nice change if you're in the mood for something less sugary. There was an indoor seating area there, so we opted for that. I will definitely be back to try many of their other offerings.
Absolutely delicious! Unique flavors that are bold. Friendly staff and plenty of seating in the room next door. I enjoyed my pistachio gelato and the comfy couch to sit on. I will definitely be back.
This is now my favorite ice cream/gelato in the city. I got two flavors, hazelnut and passionfruit cheesecake. I could have cried it was so good. I will be back; I LOVE hazelnut gelato and I can never find a simple hazelnut base gelato anywhere in the state. Now I can!!!!! Amazing showstopping gelato. Thank you, the staff were so nice!!!
I adore this place! They come out with new flavors every week, so there's always something exciting to try. The staff is so friendly. You can enjoy your gelato outside or in their cozy annex room. The best is by far the biscoff flavor! Truly anything you get here is fantastic though.
I'm so glad this little gem is part of our community! The best gelato I've ever had! The shop has rotating weekly flavors which keeps it more exciting. The workers were super kind and let us sample different flavors. We sampled pistachios, hazelnut and stracciatella (chocolate chip). All were amazing but we ended up going home with a pint of the pistachios. The flavors are vibrant and the gelato is super creamy. They also sell pints at St. Francis Apizza in Hyde Park too.
Easily some of the best gelato I've had -- fresh ingredients, rotating flavors, and perfect texture. The store may look humble on the outside, but this place is the real deal. Simple setup when you walk in with the fridge straight ahead. We were greeted warmly by the staff and they gave explanations for many of the flavors that were available. They genuinely seemed excited to share what they had to offer with us. We ordered the Fiore di latte, dark chocolate, berry cheesecake. Every flavor was a banger. Deep, rich, and creamy with strong flavor. You honestly probably couldn't go wrong with any of their flavors. Will definitely be back when we are craving gelato! Looking forward to the summer already.
This place was recommended to me and did not disappoint. I got two flavors - Bacio (hazelnut) and the Espresso Chip, and both were delicious! I will definitely be going back! Also had great service - the person helping me was friendly!
Best. Gelato. Ever. This is my go-to for any time I want some kind of frozen dessert. Their options always rotate and they include seasonal options. The one flavor they have every day is biscoff, which is great because it's my favorite. I've enjoyed the pistachio and stratachella flavors. They also include vegan options daily. Service is always excellent. It's a tiny place, but they have seating in the room next to theirs, as well as a couple of tables outside. Highly recommend.
Facciamo una passegiata nel Cov! Walk south on Madison and turn west on Pike. Golden Gelato. Two scoops -- stracciatella and pistachio -- boom! Transport to Bella Italia without the scary, improbable, but mysteriously operable physics of Italian vehicular traffic. This is good stuff. Buonissimo, as they say. Choose traditional Italian flavors (see above) or local ones like Bourbon Old Fashioned or Pumpkin Spice. (See photo.) The friendly gelataio invited our dogs inside and offered them an Italian version of a pup cup --Fior di Latte -- milk gelato. Lucky dogs. (Golden Gelato also makes dog treats, the proceeds of which are donated to a local rescue.) We sat outside (one bench and one cafe table available), watching the Covington traffic -- on foot, wheels, and rails -- go by. Un gustino della dolce vita!!
My daughter and I were in the mood for a delicious dessert on a beautiful day. We decided to try Golden Gelato and were very pleased with our choice! My daughter decided on the Biscoff and the blueberry mascarpone in the waffle cone (that is what drew us in the first place, the smell of the fresh cones being made...). The gelato was perfect, the flavors were so fresh and delicious. I asked if we could buy the cones to take home.... They're that good!! I ordered one scoop of the black cherry/chocolate cake flavor (forget the original name) and it was insanely delicious! We will be back to try the rotating flavors and they also have a super cute game room/sitting room that is connected called "the lounge" and there were nice sitting areas and games! Friendly staff and the prices were very reasonable! Thank you for the wonderful gelato and fun experience!!
Super cute spot with a gorgeous interior. They have very unique gelato flavors. I took my daughter here for a mommy daughter date and we had nectarine sorbet, goat cheese gelato and a tropical gelato. All great! Everyone was very nice too.
greeted immediately and got to try two of the rotating flavors peanut butter & jelly and banana creme pie, both were amazing and ended up with a 2 scoop cup, amazing vibes and experience, i love the lounge area, plenty of comfy seats and even board games to play, i love the greenery and spacious seating area, it was clean and comfortable. service was great and the environment takes it over the top. read more
Golden Gelato is known for its small-batch gelato and sorbet made from scratch using locally sourced ingredients, and it absolutely lives up to the hype. We tried the Biscoff flavor, and it was phenomenal. Perfectly creamy with a rich, indulgent taste that captured the essence of Biscoff spread exactly. They regularly rotate their flavors, so there's always something new to try, which makes each visit feel a little different. Highly recommend stopping by, especially if you're a cookie butter fan! Service was okay I will say they seemed like they were rushing us and short with us. read more

Found this hidden gem in the heart of Covington that offers a variety of gelato flavors. This was such a cute place! Staff were friendly and helpful as they shared that their gelato flavors are updated weekly except for a few flavors that remain the same. Follow their page for new flavors! Right next to the main ordering/lobby area is a huge seating area with self serve water station and games. This is such a cute and cozy lounge place for date nights and family time! Can't wait to come back try new flavors! read more

We stumbled upon this gem!!! Hubby and I love our gelato and when in Italy we have gelato once or even twice daily. We've missed it so much until now. We had a affogato and a waffle cone with their white coffee flavor. It was so good!!! Not overly sweet and very creamy. Their goat cheese flavor and pistachio was to die for. The waffle cones were crispy and tasted a bit of cinnamon. Loved their space too. They have a whole room next door with comfy chairs and tables and games. Such a great place to bring friends and hang out. The guy behind the counter was so friendly and really sold the flavors. Loved this place! read more

Golden Gelato is one of the more underrated joints in Cincinnati. I've never been to Italy, but I find it hard to believe that they're putting out a better product than what GG is doing here stateside. Consistently friendly folk who know their way around the cream. They put out their starting lineup every week and I challenge you to find a flavor that doesn't deserve a fist pump or two. On this occasion I got the Biscoff x Blueberry Basil combo to pay homage to my main man LaVar Ball and his beautiful family. Go support the only 513 cream that makes Graeter's look a little less special. Little spoon required. read more

You have to check this place out if you're in the Covington area! The lovely owners were working and were so helpful and personable. Although there are only about ten flavors of gelato/sorbet at a time, I hear that they rotate through flavors. So you'll have to come back at different times to enjoy them all (I see you marketing strategy )! I got the dark chocolate and stracciatella (basically chocolate chip). Very yummy and even though I got the smallest serving size, I was still able to pick two flavors. Also, using the little spoon helps to enjoy it longer! There's a bit of seating in the main area, more in this other room on the right and some outside. Not a ton of seating, so our larger group just gathered outside and enjoyed the night. read more

Delicious! I thought Dojo was my favorite, this gelato is unbelievable. Crema flavor was my favorite! The owner was nice and seemed to really enjoy working behind the counter. They have plenty of seating, which makes it very convenient. I went with my husband but would cross the Ky bridge any day for 1 more scoop. I will bring my kids next time. read more
Fantastic spot for some handmade on site gelato! The service was friendly and samples were allowed - max 2. The shop could probably add some nicer in store seating options or furniture. It feels a bit empty. That's a small observation. The gelato is insanely good with a good selection on offer. They have three 'permanent' flavors on hand while the rest rotate. read more

Better than ever. I finally got to stop by again and had a chocolate chip gelato and a salted caramel gelato. Both were some of the best I ever had. Just to let you know it's $4.25 for one flavor and $5 for two flavors. Go for two. Service is always very friendly and helpful. Do note that there is meter parking just outside the business. The first 15 minutes are free but you can go back outside to push the button again to get another 15 minutes. There is a pay lot across the street but they charge too much and I was cautioned to not use it. By the way I finished my gelato in less than 15 minutes. It's that good. read more
Amazing! I came here with my family on a Sunday night. The owners, husband and wife duo, were still churning out fresh batches of gelato! They were the sweetest people, and you can tell they're passionate about what they do. Between the three of us, we got salted caramel, white coffee, biscoff, dark chocolate sorbet, and campfire s'mores. They were all amazing. The dark chocolate sorbet is not like fruit sorbets you're probably thinking of. It's super rich, creamy, fudgy, and velvety smooth. It reminded me of ganache! I also tasted the lemon cookie, which was delicious as well. My family and I can't wait to come back! This will probably be a regular spot for us. Update: we came back two days later! We tried the blueberry mojito sorbet, blueberry mascarpone, and malted Oreo! They were all amazing. Their menu changes daily, so make sure to check their Instagram stories for the daily offerings! read more
