We've been here 2 years ready to try as the one we've been to in another State was awesome. First off, over $50 for 2 Seniors and 2 drinks. Looking forward to a nice Salad Bar was disappointing and oh so messy. The Shrimp was mushy and not fresh with frozen marks as like they made and froze and used again. Every hot dish including the Turkey, strange Pork Chop was lukewarm so they really need to check their temperatures as being in the Industry this would be a fail! The open facing Oven in the Bakery was disgustingly dirty and greasy for all to see. Then the Carrot Cake that was frozen and crumbled upon even being moved to my plate. So, was that Frozen Yogurt, Ice Cream or ? No available toppings except a lot of marshmallows. So disappointing and I will never be returning as afraid of getting ill. read more

You should live so long to ever see this Prescott Golden Corral re-open. Many GC's have permanently closed without ever telling the public. Bankruptcy is the main reason and that most likely was caused by bland food, poor treatment of diners i.e. not asking diners if they needed anything, not bringing anything if they did ask, trying to clear the table before diners were finished, etc. Buffet dining once served the public well but now... not so much. Oh... and the pricing !! Two of us, 1 @100% disabled and identified as a Vietnam Vet, were charged OVER $40 for 2 people. Only 1 soft drink no refills, and water. For that we can go anywhere else to get gouged in the bank account. Nope. You should live so long to ever see Prescott Golden Corral re-open. Maybe some nice place will open in that location. They finally re-opened. Prices have gone up. Was 18 something before adding a drink. Two people was just under 50 bucks. A little pricey for average food. The food is exactly the same stuff they always had before. A lot of workers which I'm sure will be thinned out once they see how many they need . So service was fine. I don't know why all my Yelp reviews from before 4 years ago all disappeared, so here is my recent experience eating at this Prescott location today. I came here today on Memorial Day 2022, to eat Senior lunch at 3:50, which includes drink for $10.84 including tax, to eat the dinner menu that comes out at 4 pm. I am from Scottsdale, and just finished camping at Upper Wolf Creek group camp. Left there to make it to pay Senior lunch price at 3:50 and eat dinner menu at 4 pm. I talked to the manager about what dinner highlights they had tonight. He said in secrecy, that the had prime rib, left over from yesterday. He brought it out for me. It was medium well, that was all they had, but it was remarkably tender, like a pot roast. No au jus so I made the meat guy pour the sauteed mushroom juice from the bin, into my plate. It was really good. I was looking forward to eating the maple syrup ribs promotion that I saw in TV. Very disappointed. Look at my picture of hard and dry ribs, and bottle of sugar free imitation maple syrup. The hard crust on the ribs made it inedible, even on the other side. Ruined the expensive meat. But they just brought out fried catfish, hot and soft inside and crispy and crunchy outside. Really good, made me so happy! Also had posole, but it wasn't as delicious as I have had years ago at this same Golden Corral. And corn pudding in the photo was pretty good When I first arrived at 4 pm, so much of the food bins such as taco garnishes, shells, side dishes, were empty. Overall not enough people eating all this food, and it was getting all dried up, tho I saw staff adding water to the bins. I didn't even touch the sirloin this visit. Restaurant was not busy at all on this holiday. I'm fact now, at 6 pm, entire half of the restaurant is totally vacant, nothing but clean tables. Very good server, always checking on my welfare. Three stars for this visit about the food, food dried up in the bins, due to lack of turnover, hard-as saddle leather ribs. but 5 stars for my server. read more

We were so excited to see the Golden Corral sign after moving to Prescott. We had enjoyed it very much in California, at the Chino Hills location. We were also excited to see a buffet come back after the Covid hiatus. Were we ever in for a disappointment! We arrived a few minutes before 5 pm on a Monday. We were a bit dismayed to see that the senior "early bird" price ended at 4 pm. I've heard of "senior citizen dining", but 4 pm seems pretty darn early! We asked for the classic dinner buffet which was $14.99 for seniors. The young man at the counter (named Kaden) asked for our drink order & we gave it. As he fetched our drinks, we commented a bit more about how early the cut off was. Kaden then said rather rudely, "Are you going to eat or not?" We looked confused and said, "Of course". He said, "OK, because some people get drinks and change their minds." We paid, thinking Kaden needs some customer service refinement, which he probably won't get as there was a prominent "help wanted" sign in front (typical of nearly every restaurant in the greater Prescott area!) Note: The bus girl was very nice and efficient! The restaurant was not crowded and it was easy to get to the food areas. There were 3: salad and soup, main courses, and desserts. The salad offerings were decent, and I like salad, so I filled a plate. I chose clam chowder from the three soup offerings. The salad was fresh and the fixings were plentiful. I particularly liked the cranberries and crunchy Asian style noodles. The clam chowder was tasty. As it turned out, the soup and salad were the ONLY good things at this restaurant! For my main course, I chose the steak. It is made to order. I asked for medium, a small piece. The cook made it and gave it to me. I added a small baked potato in an aluminum foil jacket. There were no utensils near the food area so I had to mash open the foil with my fingers to be able to add melted cheese, mushrooms, and onions. I wanted raw onions but only cooked ones were available. I added a bit of macaroni and cheese and a small chicken wing to my plate, and went back to our table. The steak was awful. It was cooked okay, but it was chewy and not the least bit juicy or flavorful. I only ate a little of it. The baked potato had seen better days. It tasted and looked like it had sat in the warming tray for 6 hours. The melted cheese was good, but that was about it. The mac and cheese tasted okay. The chicken wing was horrid. It was hard and unyielding, and also appeared to have baked under the warming lights for most of the day. Finally, to the desserts - usually my favorite part of a meal. This was a bust as well. The red velvet and chocolate cake were stale. The chocolate pudding tasted "off". Peach cobbler tasted like it was dumped from a can. The chocolate-coated marshmallows were pretty good, but that is hard to do wrong. My husband had similar feelings about his meal. His steak was not tasty and he left most of his peach cobbler, even though that is his favorite dessert. He said the pot roast was pretty good. We left the restaurant very unhappy. Good to see Golden Corral on track after Covid and upping there game. Most places are still offering poor service and food quality, but not here. The service was great and freindly, servers regularly came by to check on us and refill drinks. The food was good and plentiful, good steaks, salad and other sides. Expansive desserts. This Golden Corral here in Prescott AZ is doing it right. The Golden Corral's in the valley need to come up here and see how it's done. The food was very good. I actually ate everything on my plate. This restaurant is very clean. They are constantly cleaning the buffet area. The desserts look great. The cakes look like slices of cake. Not a mess. They have a new dessert. ICEE and Ice cream. It tastes good. However the soft serve is that imitation ice cream. That should be changed out right away. read more

Ihadn't been here for a while and it was great if not better, what a nice variety of everything! I can see the cooks and workers constantly keeping the trays fresh and filled. Love the soft large shiny buttery rolls they make there on the spot. Gotta go back as I'm writing this it's making me hungry lol. The fried chicken seemed to be dried out, the mashed potatoes were stiff, and the desserts were past their quality control, and needed to be replaced. I have been there before, and may go back. We live in Verrado. Visited this Golden Corral in Prescott in 2023 and found it to be the cleanest and best organized of any golden corral we have ever been to. Traveled back to Prescott again in early December of 23 but found Golden Corral closed. Can't wait til it reopens. Will certainly go back. read more

Pre-covid the owner ran a great place. High quality salad bar, good meat selection etc. He sold the business in ill health. Then covid. Post covid its been pretty awful. Dirty carpet, poor selections. Closed now for repairs supposedly. Also, they jacked their prices substantially beyond value. I will give them one last shot if/when they reopen. read more

Unfortunately, we had the one of worst restaurant experiences when visiting December 27, 2018. From soupy pudding, to barely above luke warm food that obvious had been sitting around and not refreshed, it was bad, bad, bad. Our combined two dinners, plus drinks, plus tip to server was over $40 -- for a buffet. And they were "out of shrimp", a mainstay and the reason we visited. We aren't much of the complaining type, but when our server asked how everything was, we explained the issues. She mentioned it was a very slow day and had suggested several times to staff the food should be turned over more often. Well, that explained everything. Oh, on a "slow day", how can they run out of shrimp, something the place heavily advertises? Our server said she would mention something to the manager to see if something could be done. The manager who seemed to appear more like a cast member from TV's Walking Dead (and not one of the living) asked what the problem was. We explained. As he walked away, he mumbled in a barely hearable tone "I'll come back". After 10 minutes he returned, mentioned in a dull, unsympathetic tone all food was "up to temp" and he could not compensate. He suggested next time we report the problem before eating so much. And like a good zombie, we presumed he lumbered off looking for brains to eat. Well, we never asked our server or manager for a refund. We simply reported the problem to our server when asked and she took it from there, likely out of guilt as she knew how bad the night's food was. We were never going to ask to see the manager, yet he gave us the feeling we were scammers trying to score free food. Maybe this Golden Corral receives so many complaints, they have become callous. Golden Corral: A restaurant manager is a critical line position. Please make sure you staff properly. We place everything from food prep and freshness, presentation, and customer relations on their shoulders. You failed. read more

Unfortunately this afternoon my daughter and I had an awful food experience here. Our waitress Stephanie was fantastic. The chicken was completely undercooked, the baked potatoes undercooked and raw and most of the veggie containers were contaminated with god knows what food items. I have food allergies and I'm extremely limited to what I can eat. I've eaten here before and ate specific veggies & grilled chicken that I know are safe and I've been fine. My daughter wanted to eat here and I regret it because I have been feeling ill since we left. We got there about 3:15pm. My daughter also stood by the grill to ask a question about what time they'd have steaks, she was looked at twice and ignored. The vibe we got today was "we just don't care". However, when elderly folks arrived they got first class service. I can respect that, just offer that great service to us all. You made me and my daughter feel like trash. I only gave 2 stars because of Stephanie. If it wasn't for her. This would be a one star review. Zero stars if I could, based on everything. read more

Went in for lunch right at 4pm and could not get the Senior deal. He told us it was after 4pm and the register will not record the lower price. It was quite expensive for dinner when paying full price and you really don't eat that much. I was not impressed with this place and the food. I get really sick watching people lick their fingers and touch all the spoons and sometimes even the food. I have watch them put things back too. That's a no no. They need someone policing the area or everyone will get sick. Why do people think it is okay to lick fingers, touch things and even eat at the food counter? It is gross. I used almost a whole bottle of sanitizer in the baby size at this place. Plus the food was way over cooked and mushy. It looks like it had been sitting there all day or was from the day before. One star for the amazing prepped food. Food was beyond my expectations. BUT face masks aren't required when entering and walking around to the buffet for food. Gloves are present to grab tongs but customers did not use them. I've seen a couple of customers cough excessively without their masks around the food. At their table is understandable but doing it at the buffet line is unacceptable. Coughing without a face mask. Not covering their cough but when they cover, it would be the same hand they use to grab the tongs. I live in Surprise, AZ and what a "Surprise", our Golden Corral has closed down . My wife and I decided to go on a road trip and found a Golden Corral in Prescott, AZ! We were excited to see an open Golden Corral! We went in and the two cashier ladies were very friendly and kind, one just started working there today and she acted with confidence, love that! We got to our table and that's were it gets better! Our waiter/server was a young man by the name of Daniel. Maybe between the ages of 18 and 20, at least he looks very young. This man was helping us plus 4 other tables, sweeping, bring more dishes to the front, cashiering when someone showed up, helped his co-worker and still came by to made sure we were being attended. Just the hard work and dedication this young man has, is the reason why I am posting today. I hope Daniel is recognized by his supervisors because he really deserves it.
