I've ordered from here three times. The first time the food I received was great, the second time it was mediocre (I remember the chicken being soggy), and tonight what I received was disgusting. I ordered the honey garlic chicken bento box and everything was fine except for the chicken. There was no honey flavor and the chicken tasted bland, it looked like it was covered in mayonnaise. Maybe it's because I ordered right before closing but there is no acceptable excuse for serving a customer the quality of food I ate tonight. read more

So glad we gave this place a try because now it's our favorite teriyaki joint. We had it for the first time a few nights ago and we ordered from them again tonight because it was so good. Their honey garlic chicken is *chef's kiss* magnificent. The creamy sauce they put on top of the chicken is amazing. Rice cooked perfectly. Typical delicious teriyaki salad. Good miso soup. The Korean fried chicken is also good. Hubby said he got a free sample of sushi while waiting for our pick up order. This place is also affordable for the amount of food you get. My only hesitation to review this place is that I don't want it to get busier. This is the best Teriyaki we have had in 5 years of living here. One of our main complaints leaving the Phoenix area was less good food in the area, it's such a treat eating here. We normally order in, we're homebodies, but I am ALWAYS happy with the boxes from here. We get the Korean fried chicken pretty often. While I wish it was cheaper, this is one of the few places we order from where I don't feel like we could have made it better at home. This is definitely on our short list of places to eat. Delicious, 10/10 would order again. I enjoy the sushi in the boxes as well as the miso, only think I'm not a huge fan of is the dressing on the salad but I think that's more of a preference thing! read more

Best teriyaki hands down. I have been to a ton of teriyaki places all around here and none of them hold a candle to the quality you get with gold chicken and in comparison to the pricing. The foods are so good, the service was pretty nice, I love the Korean fried chicken box. The place kinda small to have dine-in, it's better for Togo and have more room to enjoy your foods. Quantity over quality; you do get a LOT of food, but lacking in quality. Confusing menu, inhospitable staff. Food was tolerable, but that was about it; gyoza was over fried and yakisoba was too salty. I normally split for 2 days worth of meals, but today I just ate what I could tolerate and threw the rest away. Didn't even get to eat inside as I'd planned because my food was automatically bagged up and I was escorted to the door. Don't confuse this with your average teriyaki joint. Their sauces exceed the expectations of the typical chicken teriyaki, the portions are generous and their menu has a lot of variety. I got the honey garlic chicken box and an additional spider roll. The roll was on par with actual sushi restaurants which is surprising for a casual quick bite type restaurant. Husband and I ordered the garlic honey chicken and spicy chicken bowls as well as some chicken fried rice. Everything was delicious, the spicy chicken was actually spicy and had great flavor. The portions were great and we were able to pick up the order 10min before the estimated pick up time. The restaurant itself was small and only had a few seats but was clean and cozy. I got the Bulgogi combo and it was so good! My only "complaint" is the packaging, the styrofoam and sushi box were flimsy as they usually are anywhere. But other than that, I loved the food and so did my kids. My daughter had the California roll and my boys had the honey garlic chicken. Everything was so good! The customer service was perfect! This might be a biased review since the 5 star rating is solely for the honey garlic chicken. I haven't tried anything else since the HGC is absolute fire. I love chicken teriyaki but all the teriyaki joints around the area hasn't impressed me at all. Glad I found Gold Chicken cuz this will be my go-to from now on. One piece of advice - get the "Gold Chicken combos" instead of "bowls". You get like twice amount the food for only a few dollars more.
