Price was good. Took longer than I had hoped to fix. But the biggest problem was when they recovered my data from my old hard drive, they gave me the files of another person instead. These are private information such photos or tax information, and I can only wish they did not give someone else my files by accident. Trust them to recover your files, they can do that. Finally after almost two weeks, they told met hey we're unable to get it repaired, but I still need to pay them because they invested their time on this. Isn't it ridiculous? If I could give this company a negative score I would. Ebits is the worst! I had a simple crack on the screen of my hp laptop. I took the computer in and the guy kept answering the phone while I was trying to talk to him about my computer. Then he told me that they would do the diagnostic and would get back to me within twenty four hours, they never did. Two days later they called and told me that it would be 170 dollars to fix the screen. Then they called me back and told me it would be awhile because the guy who orders there parts was in china and that it would actually be 270 dollars to fix the screen. After two weeks I still hadn't received a phone call from the company so I called them and they said they lied and said they had called me and left a message and that my computer was ready. When I went in to pick it up they told me that the computer wasn't ready and that the screen they had ordered was defective and that they would have to order another one. THey didn't apologize, didn't give me a discount, and sent me away empty handed. It has now been three weeks and I still haven't heard from them and I still don't have my computer back. read more

I came in because the screen on my Galaxy S4 had cracked. I was charged a "diagnostic fee" which I was assured would apply towards the cost of repair. After leaving the device with them for a while, I got a call that the screen was cracked (relatively inexpensive fix) but the LCD screen was fine (it would have been expensive to fix). I said sure, do the repair. When I got the device back, there were air bubbles under the screen that got worse as I used the device just over the next hour. When I took back the device, I was told "no, no, the LCD was broken, so that will be $200 more". "That's not what you told me", I said. I demanded my money back, but they said that they could only give me back 50% even though they didn't fix it! What's the good of a diagnostic if they're not going to tell you the real damage? The worst part is that they demanded the part back, and re-attached the original shattered screen, obviously worse. So end result: I paid Ebits to break my phone. Thanks, guys. THE WORST PLACE to get your laptop repaired. I have so many complaints about this place based off just from one laptop repair. First there is a diagnostic fee of $50 for any "diagnosis" of your computer. The guy said it will take 3 to 4 days for the diagnosis. Guess what it took an ENTIRE WEEK to find out that my "hard drive" was broken. Funny thing is I already told them that I had a faulty harddrive..... UBreakIFix the repair shop down the street has a FREE diagnosis. After paying $50. They were going to charge me $210 just for a 500GB harddrive replacement!. A cost of a 1 TB Harddrive is $80. I knew that UBreakIFix does this all for CHEAPER for MORE harddrive memory. So I talked to the store manager and he "agreed" to do replace the 500GB for 1 TB for the same price... almost about to be scammed. It takes another 5 DAYS just for the harddrive replacement. What's sad is that the person calls on Tuesday saying that the computer will be ready by 5 or 6 pm of that day. I go there at 6:30 and there is a different person, saying that it can be repaired in 45 minutes. WTF !!!. This is not the end. After I retrieve my laptop, it's missing a cover piece that was on the side of the laptop! After waiting 20 minutes in the shop, they say they couldn't find it and are ordering a new piece..... Left a really really poor impression in my mouth. Please for the love of god, you do not want to go here for PC repairs period. Bad service, slow repairs. Imagine not having a computer for 2 weeks. I was sadly disappointed by the technical ability at the university location. I went there after Apple diagnosed my camera as a "lens" issue. GoEBITS insisted on running the standard diagnostics, which I understand they need to do. What I don't understand is why they expected to find the problem with my Mac Air Web Cam using the diagnostics. I kept asking them to just do a visual on the camera with another similar laptop. After finding out that they may not even have a similar one available I took my laptop back to Apple in the U village. I spent a day with GoEBITS thinking it would be faster. I do not recommend this service even though I want there to be competition for the "apple store". It was just so frustrating that they didn't seem to understand that the Diagnostic Tools do not test the camera function in any way...doesn't even see if it turns on. Kind of like having diagnostics for windshield wipers...just turn them on and see if it works. Oh well - Apple sent off my laptop and I got it back with the display replaced along with camera! I'll just stick with them next time. read more

Ebits soon found out it was coming from the fan and ordered the fan within a week and even ran a diagnostic on my HD just to double check. Our mid-2011 iMac had its hard drive fail. We had no backup. GoEBITS saved us from this ill-advised behavior and over several days kept us in the loop with updates on progress being made on recovering our data and setting expectations so that we knew potential service charges and hard drive upgrade installation costs. They then cautioned us that if they couldn't ultimately fix everything there were still other places that could. Luckily we did not have to go to anyone else and were quoted a fair price for all desired work to be performed by GoEBITS alone. When the work was done, they walked us through everything they accomplished and reacquainted us with our newly upgraded iMac with a more reliable SSD hard drive and also the reinstalled OS. They went above and beyond at all times and even helped load the iMac back into our car securely. It was gut-wrenching to almost lose all of our memories and photos etc but the staff there including the owner himself were so empathetic and I would definitely go back for any questions or help needed in the future. Ebits was way beyond my expectations. I have broken my screen twice, the second time I decided to try Jasper and team after and expensive and time consuming experienced elsewhere. I dropped in on a whim and despite being busy Jasper was great, helpful, fast and very affordable. Half what I paid before, phone was redone in an hour, and he helpfully suggested a screen protector to hopefully avoid a third cracking experience. Would highly recommend. read more

There is so much that went wrong!!! I took a MacBook pro in because apple recommended them. The total for the repairs was almost $800 the price isn't the main reason i'm upset its the up-sell!!! I took it in due to the display no longer working. In their "investigation" they found "liquid damage" and a dead thunderbolt port. this is all over 2 years old and I am well aware that it exists. I asked them to just replace the display and they refused unless I payed for the additional services. Mind you I was aware of the previous damage and was ok with it remaining. so after paying way more than I wanted to I get home only to find that they had installed all sorts of malware and software onto my computer, things like google wont even work without defaulting to Bing (Shudders). Seriously there was a whole host of programs added without my consent. I have tried deleting these programs but cant seem to fix the issue. There was no reason for them to add ANY PROGRAMS to the device. I got up-sold and they messed up my device. Also I asked for an email of the statement and never received one. If Apple stores were not all closed due to COVID-19 I would have gone there first, I'm sure it would have cost a fraction of the price and they wouldn't have up-sold me on any service I didn't want. Edit: I originally took my device to the Capitol Hill location, they sent it to the University District location due to the seeing the "liquid Damage". I only recieved notice of this after they had sent it to University location. read more

After sending it in for a minor hardware issue, they told me some bullshit stories about "corrupted" files and other buzzwords that I would have to pay 169 dollars to repair. Computer was fine, but it was obvious they were just trying to take advantage of me assuming I knew nothing about computers. When asking for specifics they literally couldn't be give any. I've gone to this place twice for repairs on my laptop. First was when I shattered the tablet portion of my screen, and next for when it just died (which turned out to be some motherboard thing). I've never gone anywhere else so I don't know how the prices compare, but they charged about $50 to figure out what was wrong, then about $220 after that to successfully repair my motherboard (I was broke and couldn't afford a new laptop or a motherboard replacement). They told me if they couldn't make they repair the cost would have been much less, I'm guessing just labor, but I don't remember how much because they were able to fix it. I thought they were very helpful. They were good at communicating with me, leaving a detailed phone message regarding all my options, and were also patient with me when I took a week to get back to them about what I wanted to do. I chose this place mainly for convenience because I live 2 blocks away, but will probably return here if my next laptop isn't from BestBuy. read more

I needed to take a clients MacBook in to get fixed. Because of its age, GoEBITS what is the only establishment in the local area that was an Apple authorized vendor that fixed older computers. I called in first, both members of staff that they were very friendly and knowledgeable. They give me basic instructions on what to bring and what to expect as far as timeline and potential cost. The computer unfortunately was unable to be saved however, they worked on it right away and it got back to the client within about a week. It's a very small, corner shop location, across the street from Jack in the box in the U District. Parking can be a bit tricky, it's mostly street parking or if you think you can get in and out quick enough, park across the street at the Safeway! I give this rating four stars for one simple fact. While I was on the phone with both staff members that particular day, no one told me that there was a drop off fee that needed to be paid before they would even except responsibility of the computer. I think it was under $50... But it still would've been good to know. I had to call the client, trying to get her credit card information over the phone so they could charge her account, she was driving at the time so it became very difficult to get things taken care of so that I could get out of there. I appreciate the services you offer and the area you're in... But please it would save us all a little time and money in the long run if you would tell us any additional fees that are associated with simply dropping off the computer. Regardless, it was still a good experience, the client was unhappy that the computer could not be saved but that was not GoEBITS fault or doing. If needed, I would still take my repairs to them LOL especially now that I know there is a drop off fee. Thanks GoEBITS! read more

Having used Ebits for only one very simple repair, I don't have a long catalog of experiences here. However, in my limited experience, they were honest and friendly. That said, they were slower than expected, and the repair bill was on the high end of things (nothing outrageous). I can't really complain. I am really excellent at breaking expensive electronic screens, despite car and using cases... But this time, the boo boo wasn't on me. When my dog snagged my girlfriend's iPad off the desk, breaking the screen, I called up ebits. I paid for the repair over the phone. While ebits' main business is PC repair, they do offer a small menu of iPad and iPhone services. The screen was fixed very quickly, to my great relief. I brought in my 2015 MacBook Pro for repair hoping to bypass the long wait for an Apple Genius Bar appointment (this place is Apple approved). They are worth not going to the Apple store. Super speedy service!! The man who helped me also checked the warranty even though we both assumed it was out of warranty. It wasn't, and it expires in a month!! So GoEBITS went out of their way to ensure my computer would last as long as possible. I'm pretty sure they replaced things they didn't even have to. The owner was super friendly and was obviously proud of his workers. I will gladly come here next time I have an Apple issue!! read more

They're very overpriced (a refill on a laser toner cartridge costs $65, versus buying a new cartridge at Best Buy for $50) and they didn't know that a drum unit (which holds the cartridge) is a separate item from the cartridge itself - so the drum unit was sent off to recycling, and they refused to reimburse me for the replacement cost. The owner did give me a free toner cartridge, but said that it was only because the packaging was open and so he'd lose money if he had to return it to their vendor. I will not be doing business with them again. read more
