I ordered the big bun and it comes with meat, mushrooms, carrots, Chinese sausage, and a quail egg. It is massive. It is bigger than my hand. It is quite tasty. The shop has a variety of both savory and sweet dumplings and pastries. There is a small seating area. They also have a congee and noodle menu. This is a great hole in the wall find. Casual. Please come and create your own adventure.

Homemade food for cheap. They take EBT for their frozen selections which includes (Buns, Shumai, dumplings). Big bun has a quail egg, Chinese sausage, pork & veggies so damned good! Buns not too sweet, filling is more than enough and flavor, fresh hot and steamy when you buy it. $2.50. Chicken congee was $4 and every bit of good! Fresh, hot, chicken tender! And finally the pastries! $1-2 per. The sponge cake was not overly sweet. The other sweet I don't know the name of but was also good. The only downside were the Shrimp rice crepes, the crepes were too thick, too gummy, flavor wise it was good but wouldn't recommend. Everything here is fresh and delicious I always come here for something flavorful. Never disappointed. The place is clean and the staff is very nice and they tell you what's in everything. Excellent customer service.

Frozen Dumplings!

This is one of my go-to places to get frozen dumplings! This Chinese bakery does have food you can order and eat here, where I have only gotten a small items here and there such as Egg Tarts and Sesame Balls which as good, however my main goal of coming here is always for getting their frozen items! When you enter Go Believe, on the right side there are freezers that have a variety of frozen items to choose from such as different types of dumplings and buns. For people that would want to prepare these types of items at home, this is a great place to stock up on them! Also, if you do not see an item in the large tall freezers, make sure you also check the chest freezers next to them, as they will also have a bunch of frozen items inside. I specifically look to get dumplings, which when I prepare them at home are delicious! The ones I get come in bags of 50 dumplings. The dumpling skins are made well and hold up to being frozen and subsequently prepared. The type of dumplings I like to get are the chicken & mushroom and pork & chive. Finally, if possible, look to pay with cash as a discount would apply there! The last time I got dumplings I paid $27 for 100 dumplings

Someone say durian cakes?

This is a little Chinese bakery that happens to have some dim sum options also. What's notable about them is their prices which are dirt cheap even by Chinese bakery standards. From cheapo buns and frozen dumplings to 3 to $4 rice rolls/cheung fun, you can find a lot for a little here. There are also wife cakes (i.e. melon cakes) which are $6 for a box of 8 along with other similar cakes. Sure the quality isn't the best and there was a better cheap bakery until it closed (New Kamboat [RIP],) but it's hard to complain. My favorite thing here is actually one of the more expensive stuff here. They sell durian cakes for $3.75 or it's slightly more for one with a salted egg in it. You can also buy a box for $21 but I'm not exactly sure how many come in a box but I presume it's six which would save around $1.50. In terms of the pastry itself, it is pretty crumbly and the durian inside has enough funk to it without being overly so. The salted egg one adds some extra complexity but I prefer the one with the durian only for more pure flavor. If there was another spot that sold either of these buns in this Chinatown, I would compare but I'm unaware of any other spot selling this delicious product. Would recommend for durian fans. Upper 3 for the specialty. Mid/low 3 for everything else but bumped up because the reasonable prices.

Sorry, Go Believe Bakery - we just were not fans! This bakery's menu includes congee, noodle soups, as well as various appetizers - we came here while they were almost closing up, as the staff were mopping the floors and such. We were about to leave, but the staff insisted that they were still able to take our orders - we thought that was nice of them! We ordered the Pan-Fried Dumplings, the Steamed Pork with Chives Dumplings, a BBQ char siu bun, and the Steamed Chicken Dumplings - unfortunately, these were just not good nor edible. The fillings of the dumplings were so bland, and the texture was off-putting. The char siu filling was sickly sweet and it was more steamed bun than the filling. There were also freezers where it had bags of frozen items for people to prepare at home. Staff were friendly. I was glad to check this place out, but would not return. +bland and off-putting dumplings +sickly sweet char siu buns +frozen items for sale +friendly staff

It was fun to explore NY Chinatown & sample various tasty treats. This inconspicuous cafe/bakery offered basic but solid southern style breakfast items & pastries. We were lured by the prospect of relishing some fresh grounded rice milk (米槳), but unfortunetely it was not avail. We settled for a steamed bun & it was good. The bun was gigantic, the dough was airy & fluffy. Fillings consisted of well seasoned ground pork, small quail egg & a slice of Cantonese sausage. The filling was still moist & piping hot.

Go to for fast, cheap, deliciousness in Chinatown Standard order shu-Mai (4 for $3.50); wonton soup ($6.75), enough for 2 people - breakfast of champions after a long NY night

Love their dumplings!!! Super thick skin, juicy filling, and I can taste the cabbage!! Soup is not included, I made that at home.

I get my frozen dumplings here and they are the bomb.com. My mother in law introduced me to this place, so you know it's legit. I love how thick their dumpling skins are and the filling is so juicy and flavorful. I have to pick up a bag any time I'm in Chinatown. Dumplings are perfect for a quick lunch or a snack before dinner.

An excellent Cantonese bakery with a large selection of baked goods and fresh dim sum. Best is they also sell it frozen to cook at home. Prices are super affordable.

Dish highlights include the shrimp and chive dumplings, beef chow fun, and my personal favorite, the stuffed eggplant. Other items were a little bland, like the turnip cakes and har gow, and the pan fried shrimp noodles were awkwardly plated and made them difficult to eat. I also wish they had rice noodle rolls, which I didnt see on the menu. Really what pushed it to 5 stars to me was the service. We came as a huge group of 20, with a baby and stroller in tow, and they handled everything without so much as a grimace, just an outpouring of helpfulness. They sat half our group at a round table and the other half at a rectangular long table and also helped us navigate dietary restrictions, asking specifically who in the group had those restrictions. The menu is labeled too, so you know which items are vegetarian or gluten free. At one point our helpful server noticed we hadn't really touched that awkwardly plated noodle dish and offered to replace it with another. We didn't take him up on that as I'd find that wasteful but I thought that was so attentive and earned them a generous tip. The space is nice looking, and the food came out very quickly. We also didn't break the bank, even with plenty of drink orders. Dao's is an easy recommendation, especially when you factor in how seamlessly they handled our chaos.

I was browsing for places with scallion pancakes and I came across this restaurant. I saw they had a scallion pancake beef rook which I'd never seen before. It was fried and crispy on the inside with tender beef on the inside, that was slightly savory slightly sweet. I had the roll on its own, which made for a light meal, but it can also be enjoyed as a large snack. It was a little greasy, which can be expected, but not sure if I'd get it again. I did think it was innovative though. The most impressive thing about the restaurant was actually the space. I came to pick up my food and was surprised to see this beautiful place. The outside is unassuming and nothing special but inside has the aesthetic of an old Shanghai restaurant. It's ornate and slightly quirky. It's also really big, bigger than I expected. Even the bathrooms had traditional Chinese flare with the sliding doors. Definitely worth checking out,

It's also nicely decorated, which makes you feel like you're in China. It's definitely for a younger crowd with how loud this place gets. We had a huge party, so we ordered an array of dishes to share family style. Some of the most memorable dishes were the Mapo Tofu ($13.99), Hutaoli Roast Chicken ($43 for whole), Spicy Pot Potato ($19), Roasted Green Beans ($22), etc. All of the food is good, but definitely pricey. While the food also came out quickly, our drinks came out towards the end of our meal. It's a good spot for big parties as it never got too busy even on a Saturday night. They also have private rooms. The live music was fun, but also made it hard to have conversation.
