Ladies and gents, frankly it doesn't get much better than $2 for a fresh, steamy shrimp rice roll. That's exactly what I got, exactly what I paid, and a 10 minute walk later back to the hotel and it was still steaming. The shrimp isn't to die for, but you can tell that the rice roll was made by someone who makes hundreds of rice rolls a day and knows that they deliver consistent results. Consistent enough to keep locals happy and coming back and attract the unsuspecting Cantonese looking for a slice of home in the streets.

We stumbled upon this bakery when walking by because RICE ROLLS! For $2?! Best decision we made was walking straight in and ordering 3 different rice rolls. They were so hot and fresh and delicious. The sauce is perfectly savory and sweet and went with the rice rolls perfectly. You have to check this place out, the piping hot rice rolls hit the spot and warm you up from the inside out!

Mmm the first time I came here, I was with my partner and we were heading to the station in the winter. It was sooo goshdarn cold that when I saw their rice roll sign I immediately wanted to go in for some warm food. I went there again with my partner and we spent about 15 minutes just walking through Chinatown just to find it lol. Their steamed rice rolls are made fresh and piping hot, served in a metal tin for only $2 each. It's nothing fancy and the filling can be pretty skimpy, but the price is unbeatable and perfect for anyone like me that just craves a fresh steamed rice roll. If you want a place with better fillings and more/tastier sauces, Joe's Steamed Rice Rolls at Canal might be your kind of thing. But if you just want a solid, simple rice roll for a great price then this is perfect. (This time, we got a beef rice roll, gobbled it up, and then bought and ate the shrimp one!)

They have the best taro puff in Chinatown!!! Highly recommend! I also got the salted egg puff, but it was very sweet and oily. The lotus filing was 90% of the pastry :(

Shrimp rice roll - def put more sauce than I did. $2

At first I was meh about the shrimp rice roll, but I didn't realize you had to put soy sauce and hot sauce. Totally changed the flavor! I even got a scallion one after. $2 each and so good!!! Scallion was my favorite

Just got introduced to Kenny, he told me to try the moon cakes, but only to take one bite. I tried the Pork Rice Crepes, and the owner's father gave me some of his clams. 10/10 experience. Cheap/filling/delicious!!!!

We used to stock our freezer with Trader Joe's chicken cilantro wontons until we discovered Delicious Bakery (we used to call it Delicious Huang bakery like it says on the sign!) How did we discover Delicious? We were standing in line on Chrystie Street for char siu bbq pork at Wah Fung No. #1 and bought a large container of meat for $12. Did not want to buy the char siu with rice and cabbage plate, we came for char siu meat. Then we wandered around the corner, saw the $2 rice rolls sign at Delicious Huang Bakery and thought rice rolls would taste great with the char siu bbq pork. The cook warms it fresh to order while you're standing there! The scallion rice rolls were our favorite! Saw a side freezer filled with frozen dumplings and grabbed a few containers to take home. These dumplings are huge and a container of around 25 dumplings only cost $8! Since then we've tried them all - mushroom dumplings, chive and pork, pork and vegetable, shrimp wontons and corn dumplings, but chive and pork are our favorites on those nights when we are too lazy to go out to eat. We just pan-fry the dumplings till golden brown on the bottom and pour water to steam the tops (like gyoza). I guess we could be even healthier and just boil them too. Delicious is a treasured Chinatown secret.

So I always pass this spot when when I'm in Manhattan about to head over the Manhattan Bridge to Brooklyn. I was starving and the bright red sign entitled "Delicious Bakery" could not be ignored... It's a small spot. Grab and Go. Is it safe to assume they do all their baking onsite? Cause you can kina peek in the back and see people baking stuff... Two fresh, hot Pork Buns and a Meat & Vegetable Bun. One prepackaged Pork Bun. The lady pulls the buns from this big metal fridge looking hot box and hands you a hot steamy Pork Bun. It's fluffy, chewy, starchy goodness with sweet pork in middle. The fresh Pork Buns are awesomely awesome! I got so wrapped up in my first two bites of the first bun I ended up eating the non-stick white paper stuck to the bottom and it still tasted great. Yeah, so definitely don't forget to peel the paper of the bottom of the hot buns ... The Meat & Vegetable Bun was okay. Paled in comparison to the Pork Bun. The meat & vegetable just didn't seem to match up with the bun. I guess I'm not the only one that feels that way cause I bought the last two hot Pork one's which is what led to my purchase of the prepackaged one. Six hours later as I'm riding the train home I confidently pull the pork bun out of my jacket pocket. Take a bite. YeS! Soft. Chewy. Sweet Flavor. I glance around the half full cart to see the other riders eyes dart in the opposite direction to avoid eye contact. It was too late though. I caught all of 'em looking. Tryna pretend as if they weren't just lusting over my pork bun... Clueless why this place only has one review prior to this one. With the Bun's only costing 80 cent and everything else in the bakery more than reasonably priced, I'd expect people to be flocking here. I'll be back again fa sure to clean house. P.S. - The Kung-Fu Tea spot on the corner is a great compliment to the baked goods. Pork Buns and Kung-Fu Tea. It's a Win Win.

Everything here is so worthy! Passed every time but never go in, until one day my colleague gave me a big moji and recommended this place to me. Mark the 肠粉 & 鱼片粥 to try next time.

The sesame buns! For some reason doesn't have an English label like the other buns

This is a basic Chinese bakery that isn't try to keep up with all the modern pastries, so know what you're getting into. Don't expect all the fancy new buns you see in Fay Da or Taipan in here. Prices here have remained low compared to other bakeries in Chinatown, so that's always a plus. I love love love the black sesame steamed buns from here. I don't think they are available for individual sale. I always get them in the boxes of 6. Comes out to less than $1 per bun. The sesame bun comes with a sesame paste that isn't too sweet or oily. It's amazing, in my opinion, because I'm just a huge sesame fanatic. They also have a sesame flaky type biscuit here (the boxes are at the windows), but I'm not too big a fan of this. The sesame filling in this is very dry compared to the buns. The sliced bread from here is pretty good too. It's very different from the sliced bread you buy from a grocery store. It's much more dense and has a hint of buttery sweetness. Good alone or with some jam.

Ate 1/3 of my pork rice crepe before remembering to take a pic hahahha

The Jeju Green Tangerine Matcha honestly just tastes like a tangerine selter drink but in the best way, because I don't typically enjoy seltzer or carbonated beverages. I really enjoy the flavor and the carbonation isn't too strong, probably because I brought it home to drink. I don't really taste the matcha but I would definitely still order this again. 2. Matcha Einspanner. This is my first time having an Einspanner so I have no idea what I was expecting but this is DELICIOUS. It's so silky and smooth and the TASTE is just right up my alley. The matcha is light but you can still taste it. Absolutely, would drink this all the time if I could. 3. Purple Sweet Potato Latte. This. This. Omg, why haven't I tried this sooner?! The first sip and initial taste, I almost tasted nothing, just milk. And then all of a sudden, there's an explosion of flavor in your mouth. As a sweet potato lover, I was in heaven. I have absolutely no words for this drink, just try it. 100/10 recommend. This is probably my favorite one out of the 3 that I bought. I went around ... 2:45PM on a Friday and most of the seats were taken, if I remember correctly. There were a decent amount of seats and the space was decent. I liked the minimal aesthetic they had for the design of the interior. Not to forget, the staff at the register was absolutely wonderful, she answered all my questions, she's so sweet. I think I'm disappointed that I haven't tried this place sooner. Y'all get out of your comfort zone and try the Purple Sweet Potato Latte !! Or if not, just try this place out. I will definitely be recommending the Purple Sweet Potato Latte to all my family and friends.

While it was a fun and unique drink, I probably should have opted for something else. The topping was literally like actual tiramisu rather than just tiramisu flavoring, and it felt like there was more ice and tiramisu than latte. Personally, I would have preferred more of the tiramisu flavor without the full tiramisu texture mixed into the drink. That said, it was an interesting concept and I'm glad I tried it. I'd definitely be open to coming back and trying another latte on a future visit.

I probably never leave reviews in general, especially negative ones, but this experience was so…read moreegregious that I honestly felt like I had to say something. I've worked in restaurants and bars long enough to understand that staff drinking happens, but this was on another level entirely. I came in with a group of friends and one of the bartenders, Will, was so visibly drunk that it made the entire experience uncomfortable. Slurred speech, wobbling behind the bar, taking orders while chewing food with his mouth open -- it was honestly embarrassing to watch. He looked like he absolutely did not want to be there. At one point, my group had been trying to get his attention for another round for quite a while while he stood around talking with coworkers. We then watched staff take a shot together, and when he finally came over he burped mid-conversation and literally had whatever he had just been drinking dribbling down his neckbeard. That was the moment where the whole thing went from unprofessional to just gross. What made it worse was that it didn't seem isolated to one employee. Throughout the night we watched staff openly taking shots and drinking behind the bar like it was a house party instead of a business. There's a difference between bar culture and complete lack of professionalism, and this crossed that line hard. One of the friends I was with actually frequents the DUMBO location and said that the last time she was there, the same bartender also seemed intoxicated, which makes this feel less like a bad night and more like an ongoing issue. The DUMBO location itself is in an amazing spot, which makes it even more disappointing. But ownership seriously needs to get control of what's going on there before someone gets hurt or the place develops a reputation for having drunk staff on the clock. Unfortunately, the experience was uncomfortable enough that my girlfriends and I won't be coming back. I genuinely hope the employee mentioned gets help if this is a regular thing, because nobody should be working service in that condition.
