Best Breakfast Burrito? Hands DOWN! BEAUTIFUL GIFTS for…read moreEveryone? Absolutely! Variety of treasures to choose from? Galore! Service with a SMILE? Always! I went in today for my 1st time after reading about their mission and I was not expecting the level of serene and friendly service I received. I didn't even allow myself to shop the full boutique (I'll be back soon, indeed!) nor did I go into the new building across the drive with home goods, women's clothing & more. It's a gorgeous little place and I was greeted by the sweetest woman named Karen who showed me around and helped me find what I was looking for. You'll have to stop by the cafe too! I don't know what they do to make the mocha I ordered but it came in parts, my oat milk in a cute little pitcher and the chocolate espresso in my mug. It was SO GOOD before I even put the oat milk in!! Oh! And the guys in front of me ordered breakfast burritos and they seemed so excited to be able to return for them that I had to follow suit. WORTH IT. Yum! Check out my photo! I got bacon but there's a whol menu of things and if the quality is anything like those huge burritos, then you'll be in heaven! Whether you stop in for a quick coffee or find a gift for someone special, or let's be honest, even for yourself (#selfcare) , this is the place to spend your $! Every penny goes back into the special needs crew and their vocational training and the services provided to the community. Oops! I should have lead with that! It's a non-profit! Helping adults with special needs share their super powers with the world! So you're getting pampered, filling your belly, AND scoring treasures for loved ones while giving back to a great cause. What are you waiting for? Go.

We visited The City Post today, for our anniversary lunch !!!…read moreFor us, it was The Good, the bad and the ugly" kind of anniversary. First, the good. The food was excellent. Trout, chicken, shrimp. Also, the people are super nice. Then, the bad. They went out of their way to say, "they wanted to make our anniversary special". So they put a little card on our table that said Happy Anniversary. Yep, that's it. Really, spend a ton of $$$, wine, appetizer, entrees, and adios, you're out the door. Also, the Shrimp Cocktail appetizer, was merely 4 nice size shrimp in a plate. The cocktail part was missing. They did have a tiny, and I mean tiny, goblet of store bought cocktail sauce on the side. The shrimp were cooked perfectly, but it was NOT shrimp cocktail. The shrimp looked lonely Now for the ugly. Through no fault of the restaurant, the flys were brutal. At least 4 or 5 joined up for lunch. One of them took a swim in my wife's glass of wine. A couple of others used our bread service as a landing strip. Had to quit eating it. Of course, they gladly got her another glass of wine. Tough luck on the bread !!! The very pleasant young lady, appeared to be a manager, said, "it's that time of year !!!". Yikes. Or perhaps we were sitting is a high fly zone Anyway, sorry for the long post, but after being a frequent visitor to the City Post, it's time for a break, and will visit other downtown G'town restaurants. I went there, yesterday, the Food was delicious! The Cashier Girl, I believe her name is Alexis (we…read morejoked about being called Alexa), recommended me the sandwiches (maybe it was The Club? I forgot...) The Ambiance was quiet when I got there, but when I left, it was busy! I walked around the restaurant surroundings, b/c I had some time to kill until my Pick Up was scheduled.

Overall, it's a great place to grab a quick meal plenty of different sandwiches to choose from hot and cold and it reminds me of a more elevated Schlotzsky's. Love how I order the wrap and it came with the side of a pickle spear. It would've been nice to have a side of hot sauce too, but hey, that's Schlotzsky's deal not McAlister's. I really fell in love with the club wrap. I wanted everyone to see when I cut it in half the cross section. You could really see the layers of deli meats along with the cheese, the fresh tomatoes and lettuce, and I decided to substitute regular mayo for the mayo basil free of charge. I really like the exterior texture of the wrap. It's a firm type of feel soft so when you chew into it as a soft chewy texture and then you bite into the cold dense meat and I want you get to chew it you could then taste the cream with us of the cheese along with the freshness of the vegetables great wrap but on the other end, the red beans and rice is a total letdown. It tasted like a side of pinto beans missing really what makes it red beans and rice, and it had little to zero rice. Mine as well call it salty pinto beans. Plus, it's ultra salty. I recommend anyone to come visit. My total meal was under 18 bucks so it is pricey to come here but definitely worth the try the club wrap and avoid the red beans and rice.

Outside of…read morethose things the service is sub-par, food is not much better than public school cafeteria fare, and overall a giant letdown. I feel like this is due to order at the front, and waiting for the food to be brought to you. No follow-up, no checking back. If you do ask for a something, you can assume you're not getting it. We have came here a few times after being invited by friends, and the food is just poorly produce. Chicken fried steak had no flavor, Classic burger was nothing better than Burger King, but at triple the price. Got my son the chicken tender basket, and he wouldn't even eat it. He is 3. He literally only eats chicken tenders and quesadillas! They were tough, and poorly seasoned. If you're going to buy cheap quality meat, learn how to brine and tenderize. Such a great concept and so much potential ruined. If you do go, watch how many parents just have drinks from the bar, and no food while their kids run around and play. Over-price, under-whelming, and should only be considered a outdoor play place for kids with a bar.

The dry ranch wings tasted like they were friend in "fish" grease. Burger was ok. Food is overpriced for the poor quality. Given the owners, I'm surprised they don't do better. The outside venue is great & family friendly but the food is certainly worse than fast food. Not a fan.
