I think the the owners and chefs have their heart in the right place, but I think they may overthink/overload certain dishes. I stopped in for a burger and fries with iced tea. I was feeling a little adventurous, and ordered the Gnarly Burger, not realizing that it was going to be beautiful to look at when presented, but unwieldy to actually eat: this carefully constructed tower of burger, onions, fresh lettuce, tomato, bacon and fried egg was perfectly presented - it was a marvel to behold! But getting my hands and mouth around this behemoth was impossible; I had to slide off the fried egg and tear up the bacon strips to make it maneuverable. The beef was properly cooked, and it was pretty tasty. The fries were fresh and hot, but on the short and stubby side. Iced tea was sweet and refreshing. I'll stop by again, because I want to support small joints like this that know their customers and want to do their best to feed them. This place caught my attention as I was hungry and walking by. Really inviting place and super cute decor. The staff here is amazing and very friendly. The americano i had was delicious. I ordered the fried chicken sandwich with fresh made coleslaw and spicy may and everything was on point. The chicken was so flavorful and juicy and the coleslaw was just perfect. I ordered for takeout and everything was ready when I can to pick it up. I had gotten a burger and fries and brought it home. She had said that everything was packed separately but I didnt know what that meant until I opened the bag. There were 3 containers in the bag. One with the cooked burger, another with the veggies, and the third with the toasted bun. The sign I read at the shop now made sense about how they care about the quality of the experience to the point where they don't want the burger juices to destroy the bun while you get it home and suggest you eat it there for the best flavor. I had a bad experience with Gnarly Eats tonight. I placed an order with them thru Seamless. The delivery person showed up with someone else's order. I explained to him that it was the wrong order, he told me to call the restaurant. I called the restaurant, they told me they would look into it and call me right back. They never did. So I then called Seamless, and they contacted Gnarly Eats who refused to send out my correct order. The only option I was offered was a refund in 3-5 days. This was an example of really bad customer service on the parts of both Gnarly Eats and Seamless. Neither company was willing to take responsibility for their error and correct it. read more

Not big on reviews but this needs to be said. Extremely overrated place. It was freezing in there they couldn't even bother putting the heat on. It took 30 minutes to get our food and it arrived COLD. Extremely unnacceptable. Food tasted like the next place, nothing special. The only good thing were the ginger wings. Over priced for no reason. Also their iced teas tasted like they were sitting there for years; almost fermented or they had some type of alcohol in them. When we asked they claimed they didn't know but probably had something to do with where the tea leaves are from. They did us the favor of taking the iced teas off the bill, and charged us for coca cola's which were WARM. After that we were ready to go. Terrible experience, never again. read more

The red cabbage with it is a great combination and the fries are perfectly crisped. We actually went to the location the next night (to check out the Tardis door) and try the fried chicken burger. Great new little spot in the nabe. Love the Tardis door. The burgers are good if pricey and the fries especially yummy, but make no mistake: it takes a looong time to get your order. And you won't necessarily be served in order of arrival. They have a ton of hot sauces for your selection, but you have to ask especially for ketchup and napkins. OMFG.... sooo goood! Got the buttermilk fried chicken burger. Holy shit... YUM! Piled high at 8". They use dark meat which is my favorite cut of chicken and makes it super juicy and tender. Chased it with a strawberry basil lemonade. It looks like swamp water but tastes like HEAVEN! The service is really friendly and accommodating.
