Is350 - detailed, chrome delete, caliper paint, ceramic coat
    Mike C.

Even though they specialize in German Auto, I had GMP style my '22 IS350 due to their reputation in the Charlotte area. I am thrilled with the quality of their work, the communication with Phil (my service advisor) and overall professionalism. I had my calipers painted a custom color (provided them with the requested Pantone info), chrome delete, and complete detail including ceramic coating. 5 stars!

I first went to GMP in 2014 to get APR performance software for my Audi. It was a great experience and an awesome deal to get 75-85 extra HP and a ton more torque. If you have a German car you need to see them. They have been in business for many years (43 to be exact) and started as parts company. GMP = German Motoring Parts. I had the opportunity to return this month with my friend Sara. She also got her Audi "APR tuned" but they went above and beyond to diagnose and come up with an alternate fix for her taillight, saving her hundreds of $$. They are also proud to show you around an look at some of the exotic project cars they are work on in their Charlotte facility. Well worth the drive to Charlotte for your German vehicle.

I came here on a recommendation from the owner of H&H Automotive, another great business, so I knew I was going to be treated well. I wasn't steered wrong. I needed a new door handle installed for my Yukon. I'm thinking it's going to cost $500. I don't know anything about auto body repairs. But I was invoiced for less than half of that. And the work was completed in a few hours. I might break something on one of my cars just to deal with them again lol. Ask for Andrew...

Frame damage was very obvious, especially to an expert, in the photos. And still, Mason, who was supposed to see this through, hasn't addressed me. In short, this shop may be sufficient for those referred through insurance or with minor cosmetic repairs, but the treatment I got as an out of pocket paying customer truly sucked, for lack of a better word. In short, the owner, Mason, brushed me off, and his techs will only work on cars they deem worthy. Don't blindly believe the hype on the good reviews. I have an older model vehicle that was badly damaged and couldn't be inspected in person. Despite this, the owner agreed to create an estimate from photos he requested and even said he would begin ordering parts. He was confident his shop could take care of the work. Just a few days later, he became unresponsive, ignoring several emails from me. I finally called, and he was still adamant that the work could be done and to just have the car towed in at "any time that is convenient for you" which happened to be on a Friday. When I called to check that the car had arrived, he was "working on the paperwork." On Monday when I went by to finalize things and sign the paperwork, I found out that, at some point, he'd decided the car was irreparable but failed to reach out to share this information with me. There were ample opportunities along the way to let me know this. By the way, Mason was too busy discussing classic cars with a couple of other customers to be bothered to even acknowledge me at any point in time, even though I was told he was the one in charge of my specific case. After being ignored for a good 20 minutes, another tech explained that there was nothing they could do for the vehicle. I asked how soon I needed to remove it from their yard, the answer was an apathetic "soon," as if I was the nuisance, even though the shop agreed to this. As supposed experts in this field, they should have had an inkling these parts would not be easy to find, first-hand, since they don't use salvaged parts (which I didn't learn until after the fact). Ultimately, I ended up having to tow the car back home on my own dime. To add insult, there's now damage to the back bumper which was fine before it went to their overcrowded lot.

Brought my 2005 E60 everyday driver, driven cross country 3x through 100+ degree Death Valley temps, through Sand storms in New Mexico, and Hail Storms in Arkansas & Pollen season here in Charlotte. 5 years of procrastination and finally pulled the trigger to get it painted. Speaking wt Nelson his knowledge of Maaco products, services and paint experience made it easy and comfortable to leave my baby in his hands. His honesty was well received. Advising me not to paint certain parts and trim pieces knowing it will only chip later on due to wear and tear. Being that frugal guy that I am, getting dozens of quotes for $2,500 + for an older model BMW just didn't make sense! His pricing for for stage 1 color paint and clear mix + Additional clear, fixing my destroyed front bumper, side swiped qtr panel and rocker, sun swirls etc, etc. The result was a totally different color change, of course I opted out to get the inside door trims matched, and not even tripping on the few minor details that people will get OCD on ! Overall Nelson thanks for the great customer service, honesty and bringing my 2 vehicles back from the dead and giving them another 5-10 yrs Presh !!!

I also included my name, phone number and email address. THREE DAYS later, I wasted my time, gas, and money when I appeared for my estimate ON TIME and was told, "Your car is too old... we don't paint cars older than 1990..." before I could even park my car. Why couldn't those bozos let me know BEFORE I wasted all that time, gas, money, and effort? Why did the website allow me to select the year of my car from a scroll of dates if my car was too old? Why is this shop still in business? I think the truth is, they don't know what they are doing and were afraid to do the job... after all... a car is a car and paint is paint! What difference does it make what year it is? That is pretty pathetic that I couldn't even get an estimate for the work... everything about this experience screams "We are incompetent and unprofessional!" Zero Quality, Zero Value, Zero Professionalism, Zero Communication, Zero Competence, Zero Respect! They need to shut this place down or at least get the name "MAACO" off of their sign. A better name would be "LAME-O".
