The manager (Nelson) literally hangs up on me every time I call. They want me to prove they did it. How am I supposed to do that? They did a fantastic job painting the car but my bumper is damaged. I have pictures afterwards and one picture before but it's not focused on that area of the bumper. I'm so disappointed in this service. Got my Honda accord fixed in south blvd , charlotte location. After getting the car back, noticed that tag light is not working. Upon checking i found that whole assembly is missing from repaired bumper. Sales representative would not even pretend to listen and help. He just hung the phone. Average workmanship, Worse service, rude people. I would not recommend this shop to anyone. Update - Macco coorporate customer service contacted me and tried to get the issue resolved. Matter was not resolved but i am satisfied that at least they tried to help. Updated to 3 stars. read more

Incompetent and Unprofessional!!! RIDICULOUS!!! I made an appointment ONLINE for a free estimate for a paint job for my old car. This required selecting the YEAR, make, and model. I also included my name, phone number and email address. THREE DAYS later, I wasted my time, gas, and money when I appeared for my estimate ON TIME and was told, "Your car is too old... we don't paint cars older than 1990..." before I could even park my car. Why couldn't those bozos let me know BEFORE I wasted all that time, gas, money, and effort? Why did the website allow me to select the year of my car from a scroll of dates if my car was too old? Why is this shop still in business? I think the truth is, they don't know what they are doing and were afraid to do the job... after all... a car is a car and paint is paint! What difference does it make what year it is? That is pretty pathetic that I couldn't even get an estimate for the work... everything about this experience screams "We are incompetent and unprofessional!" Zero Quality, Zero Value, Zero Professionalism, Zero Communication, Zero Competence, Zero Respect! They need to shut this place down or at least get the name "MAACO" off of their sign. The workers at this location are self employed they don't work for the company. When the poorly done work was pointed out only excuses were given. Corporate will tell you this is an independently owned business and there isn't much you can do about. This location has had plenty of BAD REVIEWS they don't care. I paid for there TOP TIER paint job and got excuses. Once their mistakes are pointed out they will only allow you to pay in CASH. Beware! You have been warned. read more

I recently took our Toyota Corolla in for a new paint job. It also had a few dents that needed repair. Nelson was able to look at our vehicle, and promptly provided a few options for paint and repair. The cost estimates were several hundred dollars below other quotes that we had received so we went with the intermediate option. We were able to drop the vehicle off the very next day, and they had it done few days later, a day earlier than promised. They did an absolutely FABULOUS job - we are very pleased with the outcome! Got my daughter's car painted by them 2 years and 360 days ago. Paint started to peel off but we had a 3 year warranty so she was ok waiting to closer to the end of the warranty. Well I called this morning and the associate that answered the phone told me I was out of warranty but wouldn't tell me the date. As the day went that bugged me so I looked up the exact date. I still had 4 days on the warranty. I call back the same associate looks up the date and says yeah you're right. You still have some time left. However the warranty is not a normal warranty. You know something goes wrong they fix it. The written warranty is they will fix it but you still pay 50%. I don't want to pay anything. I hope we don't get a ticket for littering because the paint is blowing off. read more

I will hardly ever post on Yelp but THIS review was well deserved. Came in wt common chipped front bumper, road rash, and side swiped qtr panel. Brought my 2005 E60 everyday driver, driven cross country 3x through 100+ degree Death Valley temps, through Sand storms in New Mexico, and Hail Storms in Arkansas & Pollen season here in Charlotte. 5 years of procrastination and finally pulled the trigger to get it painted. Speaking wt Nelson his knowledge of Maaco products, services and paint experience made it easy and comfortable to leave my baby in his hands. His honesty was well received. Advising me not to paint certain parts and trim pieces knowing it will only chip later on due to wear and tear. Being that frugal guy that I am, getting dozens of quotes for $2,500 + for an older model BMW just didn't make sense! His pricing for for stage 1 color paint and clear mix + Additional clear, fixing my destroyed front bumper, side swiped qtr panel and rocker, sun swirls etc, etc. The result was a totally different color change, of course I opted out to get the inside door trims matched, and not even tripping on the few minor details that people will get OCD on ! My car was originally white and decided to change the color to black. It took them a week to finish my car and upon picking it up there were many noticeable issues in the paint. There were light spots, running paint from over spray, and places that didn't get painted because of over taping. They didn't paint the top of my bumper saying it was covered by the trunk lid and considered a door jam which they don't paint. Long story short I just picked my car up for the 4th time. I believe the once the car is painted no one is checking it over before they call you to pick it up. I wouldn't recommend Macco South Blvd to paint a mailbox. read more

Maaco on South Blvd did a fantastic job on my daughter's 20 year old Honda Accord. The paint was peeling and her driver side door had been hit. The job was completed by the time promised and looked like a brand new car. We were so impressed and my daughter was thrilled. read more

I have a 2004 Tiburon with 40,000 miles on it. Over the years the paint had faded and it was keyed. I always wanted to get it repainted but didn't want to pay $2500+ for it. I am so glad a friend referred me to this particular Maaco. The owner prides himself on the quality of their work and it shows. I had my car painted in January while they were running a special.... I could not be happier! I get asked all the time if I have a new car! The car is parked outside most of the time and I have had no chips or flakes due to freezing/thawing. Report# 13103434 The one thing I learned this year is that if you purchase a paint job from Maaco, you'll make the biggest mistake of your life. In July of 2017, I purchased a paint job from Maaco. After the one North Carolina winter season, the paint job discolored on my trunk. I noticed the discoloration after sweeping snow and ice off my car in Feb 2018. I was thinking luckily for me, I have a one year warranty. To my surprise, I was completely WRONG! After contacting the corporate office in May 2018, the insurance rep (Tristian Phipps) instructed me that I would need to coordinate a paint job between the location the car originally received the paint job which was in Martinez, GA and the local shop in Charlotte, NC where I reside. Somehow it became my job to facilitate a paint job between multiple shops instead of Maaco's Corporate Office. I then contacted the Maaco South Blvd location in Charlotte, NC about my car and the warranty. I was informed by a staff member, Chasity, that she would reach out to the Martinez location where the car was originally painted. After weeks of follow-up phone calls with the corporate office, Charlotte shop, and Martinez shop, I was finally informed to bring my car into the shop for an inspection. After taking my car to the shop for inspection, I followed up with the Charlotte shop to determine next steps. I was then informed that they would not be painting my car because they concluded that something was spilled on the car; however, they did not state what alleged substance could discolor a paint job. They proceeded to tell me that I would need to discuss this matter with the corporate office. After calling the corporate office and being routed to a 3rd party vendor, I wasn't given a contact number or email address for the rep (Tristian Phipps) who was assigned to my case. I followed up a few days later and received the same answer in regards to contact information to the Maaco rep assigned to the claim. Maaco's rep, Tristian, finally called and informed me that he would contact the Charlotte shop and call me back. After another couple of days, Tristian called to inform me that my warranty request would be denied because an expert stated something was poured onto the car. Again, they failed to produce a report from an expert or provide me with any specifics on what type of substance could cause this type of damage and void the warranty. After quickly being escalated to management, Sahmekia (Customer Relations Manager) informed me that I had spilled something on my car and my case is closed. I informed Sahmekia that the discoloration occurred after snow and ice was swept off my car. I also reference the section in the warranty stating that extreme weather (hot & color) will cause discoloration and is covered in the warranty. Sahmekia proceeded to state that I spilled something on my car and that my case was closed. I asked for Sahmekia' last name but wasn't given that information either. I am sadden, disappointed, and in complete disgust of how I have been treated throughout this process with Maaco. I relied on them to do their job by providing a quality paint job and to stand by a one year warranty that they issued. However, this was not the case. So if you want to pay thousands of dollars, get a paint job that can't sustain weather conditions, enjoy chasing down multiple Maaco employees, all to have a bad looking paint job.....Maaco is for you!! read more

I would not recommend ANYONE having their vehicle painted at this location. I had a terrible experience all around. Based on the following: I dropped my vehicle off on Monday June 6th and I was told the vehicle would be ready on that Friday. I contacted them on Friday to check on the status and I was told the vehicle would be ready the next day (Saturday). On Saturday they called and said that oil leaked on the fresh paint and they needed more time to repaint it. I asked when it would be ready and I was told Monday. Monday rolls around and I haven't heard anything from them. I called Monday evening and was told the vehicle would be ready on Tuesday. The same scenario continued until Friday. Finally on Friday I went to pick up the car and the car was filthy. I requested for them to wash it so I could actually inspect the paint job that has taken 2 weeks! They sprayed it down with water without drying it so I still wasn't able to see if a good job was done or not. By this point I just want to get my car and leave. By the time I got home the car was dried. I found several spots that weren't painted at all and a 2 inch crack wasn't even repaired at all. Which was agreed would be repaired when I dropped off the vehicle. There were 2 spots where paint was already chipping off. There was paint on the interior of the door and a small hole in the interior of the door. I went back and I spoke with the manager and I was told they missed these spots because they taped over it and they would take care of it on Monday. I requested a personal guarantee from him that the car would be completed on Monday. I went back on Monday morning at 8am and was told it would be ready by 4pm. I received a call at around 3:30 and was told they needed a special paint and the car wouldn't be ready. At this point I had enough, with their stalling, lies and lack of professionalism. I would not recommend this Maaco Location. I had my 2007 Mustang repainted. The price was good, but the final paint job was not what was expected... Very sloppy job all around the edge of the convertible top.. they don't seem to know how to tape a car off before painting. . I've called numerous times trying to get them to fix the issue but they never return my calls. Their availability is terrible... they are only open till 5:30 during the week.. I work and can't go by then. But they advertise the are open from 9 to 12 on Saturdays (they advertise this on the internet and when you call getting their voice mail it states they are open 9 to 12 on Saturday)... I've gone by the past two Saturdays before noon and they are always closed..no one there. I have left numerous messages for Chastity as well as the manager to call me back, however no return calls. And they NEVER answer the phone when you call.. you always get voice mail. My next step is to contact the owner, as this is a franchise location. This past Saturday, while I was there, another customer stopped for her appointment.. said she had a specific appointment time to bring her car by but, when she arrived, no one was there.
