MP Motorworks replaced all brake pads and my front and rear rotors on my SUV after 123k miles on the odometer. They did great work and turned around my vehicle same day. Staff are very responsive to inquiries and quotes and were able to answer my questions at a more detailed level e.g. What was my rotor thickness when they swapped out with new ones. I trust these mechanics with the work performed on my machines to keep me and others safe and the management I've found to be honest and reliable in their mechanical assessments. I had a horrible experience. I went in for new tires and have had all kinds of issues when it should have been a simple job to do. First, they did not ensure my tire pressure monitor reset so I had to come back multiple times. Then, all of the sudden, all of my tire pressure monitor sensors were low on battery out of nowhere. (BMW Service thinks they damaged the sensors putting the new tires on because my car is only 5 years old and they said sensors last 7-10 years.) Also, I never had any issues with tire pressure fluctuating for 5 years. Now, after having these tires for 1.5 weeks, my tires are all reading low pressure on the first cold morning. It has been a disaster. Not worth the "savings" from the dealership. read more

We are very happy with the service we received from MP Motorwerks. We took our Audi Q5 for several different issues: steering, timing belt, new tires, etc. Michael described the work and the charges perfectly, and they kept us info about how the work was proceeding. I happen to have a bad experience with mike at mp motorwerks. First off I made a mistake while working on my car and accept my downfall for that. Mike agreed to look at my bmw since it would not go into gear. He explained the valve body in the transmission was not matching up with the guide pin. He also stated the valve body was bad and needed to be replaced at $4,500. He stated if the new one didn't match up that the transmission would need to be replaced for another 5-6k plus labor This to me sounded weird and did my own investigation. I contacted zf who manufactures the transmissions for bmw and explained the situation. They gave me the part numbers for the guide pin that mike said they do not sell. I called the bmw dealer and explained the situation. They said worst case scenario they would put a new transmission installed at 7k which included the valve body. When I took the car in they said they would try their best to salvage the situation. End result was the valve body was not bad and had me fixed up for $700 at the DEALER. This guy is a crook, does not know how to work on transmissions, and clearly scams people to spend more money. He would have charged me over 10k to fix my car. AVOID at all costs. read more

I love going to the dealer for service. If you want your car to operate the way it was intended and as long as intended, you should go to the dealership. What I don't love about the dealership is paying dealer prices and service charges. So if my car isn't new and isn't under warranty, funk that! I'm taking it to a local mechanic! Now choosing the right mechanic is a task in itself. A mechanic isn't just a serviceman. A mechanic is an ally you build relationships with. A good local mechanic will treat you right. Most items will come with suggested service and every mechanic will "suggest" certain repairs. Many people will complain and assume they're trying to get ripped off when in fact, some just don't understand the maintenance required for an older car. Belts, hoses and stuff wear over time. So while you've gotten a motor opened up, why not replace the gaskets? I am not a mechanic, but I know enough about cars to make some my own repairs. My problem is laziness, but that's a separate discussion. MP Motorwerks is a shop I trust and they've never steered me wrong. I've had repairs done on an old 5 series with 279k miles here. I've also had some repairs performed on my 85k mileage Mini. While the prices aren't as cheap as repairing a Honda, it was definitely more affordable than the BMW dealer. read more

When my wife started having problems with her Mini it was very usual. It was very low mileage for a 2007 (22,000) and we hadn't had any problems up tot this point. We brought it to the MINI dealer and they said it was a 20.00 seal that could be fixed but they'd have to take the engine out to get to it. So of course we didn't do that. We brought it to our local mechanics who did what they could, made the noise kind of go away and gave us a little bit of relief from thinking the worst. Then we found Mike on Yelp. We brought it in, he asked us right away if it made a certain noise, of course it did, and he knew exactly what it was, how much it would cost and how long to fix it (and it was less than replacing the seal). Well Mike had it in his shop, gave us several updates during the time he had it and then called to say it was ready. It hadn't run like that since the day she bought it. Mike is great. MP Motorwerks is now our go to shop and we wouldn't feel right bringing it to any other place. If you have a problem with your MINI or other foreign car, please take the time to bring it to Mike. The results will be incredible, affordable, and you'll be back to driving happily before you know it. read more

I've taken my Audi here for about three or four years for routine maintenance. Always have had a great experience. Needed new tires recently and they gave what I found to be a very reasonable price, and did not try to upsell me on the most expensive options. Two weeks later - I have a nail stuck in one of my new tires. Called that morning, brought my car by that afternoon, and they patched it in 15 minutes at no charge. Cannot recommend them enough! I don't leave Yelp reviews often (or ever), but I feel like these guys deserve a shout out! read more
