Condition of car when picked up.

I would not recommend anyone to take their car to Honda Works, and here's why: I brought my 2002 Acura TL to Honda Works for two reasons, one was because the mechanic that I usually send all my cars to was too backed up to work on my car, and I needed it done quick. Second , was their reputation with Honda's. My car kept blowing a fuse which would make the gauge cluster not work, this would also set a check engine light. Honda Works replaced the fuse and then read the code, and recommended to change a part that was associated with the code. I approved this "repair" at just under $400. They said it was fixed, I came and picked up the car and paid them. Note: This part had been replaced prior to vehicle being sent to HW, and all they did was look at the check engine light and replace one good piece with another. They failed to notice the SRS bulb was not displaying as it had blown(basic "Key-On" Diagnosis), which would have led to final correct diagnosis and repair. The car was also sent to HW with a list of previous service and replaced parts Within just a few days I was having the same issue with the car, so I called them and explained to them what was going on, wherein they told me to bring the car back to them and they would look at it. They had my car for exactly one month, were not able to find the problem. I had had enough of the run around from them. Every time I called and checked on the car, which was 1-2 times a week, they said they were working on it and they still could not find the problem. When I went to pick up the car, they said they wanted more time to work on it, but I feel a month is plenty long. This is the point where I got more of the true story. It had mostly been sitting, probably because they already got their money from me and didn't really care if it got taken care of now because they were not going to make any more money on a comeback job. I got a story about how their "lead tech" had been at their other location and hadn't had time to come look at my car. Remember, it has been at their shop for a month. At this point they would not let me have my car back without charging me another $90. So now I have paid just under $500 for them to hold on to my car for a month, barely work on it, tear the interior all apart and not actually fix the problem that I sent it to them to fix in the first place. They said they had taken out the passenger seat, but when I got in my car to load it on the trailer I found out they had taken just about every interior trim panel out of the car and they were scattered all over the place. I was able to take it to my regular mechanic, he was able to properly diagnose and pinpoint the problem in less than 2 hours. The problem that he diagnosed had nothing to do with the part Honda Works replaced. In conclusion, I paid Honda Works nearly $500 and still had to take it somewhere else. I now have to pay that other shop to do the proper repair and put the entire interior back together so I can drive it.

Kevin is very honest about the repairs your car may or may not need and he probably knows more about Hondas than anyone at a dealership.

I was quoted 158 for this job the day prior over the phone and I confirmed at the start of the appointment if that would be the price. My brakes were in poor shape, missing a brake pad on one side and the mechanics spent an extra 15-20 mins working on my cylinder. At the end of the job, Chris informed me that they got air on the line and would have to bleed the brakes. (I've always had my brakes bled at the end of any brake job so this is standard for me to have done whenever I get my breaks done. They told me this would be an extra 120 dollars at the end of the job. My father is a mechanic and said that price was a little high just to bleed the brakes and was very familiar with the procedure. He told me "go call your dad and ask him to send you more money." When I asked if they could take 20 bucks off and knock the price down to 100 from 120 he asked me to tell him how old I was which I thought was rude and uncalled for. I told him I was 30 and he proceeded to say "wow you look 18" and said "one day you're going to have to learn that everything in life isn't free sweetheart." When I went to his office to pay he also said I'm going to have to buy him lunch because they spent extra time working on my car than they planned. Disgusting behavior. I would not recommend this shop to any woman (or really anyone) unless you want to be taken advantage of and upsold. They ended up bleeding one brake so my car would be somewhat drivable. My interior dashboard was also scratched up when I got my car back from them.

Great service quality and value. Found our new mechanic in Charlotte, which is always one of the…read moremost important things!
