Got my transmission flushed and filter changed on a Porsche 911. Fast and great service! Would recommend! 2nd time using them.

Great, honest people. I've had my axle replaced, engine repaired, oil changed, etc. They don't overcharge, they're fast, effective, and very personable. read more

I called Almar and spoke to Frank about installing a remanufactured engine in my 1995 Ford Mustang GT V8. After I had it towed to Almar, Frank called me back & asked if I had seen the car, which was strange since I bought it new as a retirement gift for myself in 1995 just before retiring from the Marine Corps. Frank said that the car had a broken mirror and a bad tire, etc. Basically, he refused to install an engine. I asked Almar to install an engine, not tires or mirrors. I guess my car didn't meet Frank's standard. Another dealer will install the engine for $900.00 cheaper. Thanks, Almar. read more

Requested 100,000 mile check up on 2011 Kia Soul. Frank reached to son-in-law with specific questions regarding service needs. Frank informed me that the vehicle needed more repairs than its value. Also told me immediate repairs vs those that could wait. Also called a friend for second opinion on another vehicle. Frank was upfront and honest with me regarding the repairs for both vehicles. Instead of getting the Kia and other vehicle serviced, l sold them for a newer vehicle. l sincerely appreciated Franks honesty and support at a time l was desperate for a vehicle to get back to Ohio!! read more

I brought my RV here thanks to a buyer on the internet who negotiated a pre-sale inspection with ALMAR. While I was not the actual customer, I did interact with the great folks at ALMAR. Mike was personable and pleasant when I dropped it off, explaining the process and the timeline. As it happened, the inspection went well and he told the buy to go ahead and make the purchase. I returned to ALMAR and picked up my RV. Easy pleasy. I don't have an RV for the moment, but I think I may have found where I'll be bringing it for repairs. ALMAR Auto Repair - ALMAR in Charlotte - Auto Repair Near Me - Charlotte, North Carolina

I found this repair shop via the Costco referral program. Owner Rusty was nice and accommodating. He worked me in the next morning to work on brakes and traction control, new tires and alignment. He was honest and the price was very fair. The work was done quickly and well. The car drives GREAT now! I'm so glad we found them. We will definitely come back for our next service work. I loved the shop too! Full of fun collectibles. It felt like a cool uncles country store. read more

ALMAR Auto Repair - One corner of the shop. Love the sofa! - Auto Repair Near Me - Charlotte, North Carolina

Quick and efficient service: they fixed my tire within an hour. Highly recommend this auto shop!

The level of service and PATIENCE displayed by the company still amaze me and we visited over 2 months ago. Not only did the I take process go smoothly, the attendant was thorough in asking questions to determine the potential cause of our visit. The evaluation and recommendations were reasonably priced and the care of the vehicle while in their possession was superb. Highly recommend. read more

They got a replacement tire for my flat and also a well needed alignment. Although it took awhile for the new tire to arrive they had free WiFi and good seats while I waited. The crew up front knows how to keep mechanics organized and working. They also have top notch know how and customer service. read more

Brought my Hyundai here for the first time after reading some great reviews and had a very positive experience. I brought it in due to a sound but wasn't sure what the problem was. They let me know what was causing the sound and discovered a few other things that I had no clue about (I don't know anything when it comes to cars). They explained the issues to me and how they could fix them and my car was ready to pickup the next day. Quick service and honest, friendly people. I will be coming back! read more

Rusty and his team are simply wonderful. They're honest, knowledgeable and hard-working. They do great work for a fair price and diligently get your car in/out in a timely fashion. Good people. read more

Great great great service! Very reachable and approachable. They are very timely and trustworthy! I had my back brakes replaced by ALMAR and a tire alignment. Will for sure be coming back here for all my future car needs! read more

The many positive reviews were spot on! They were courteous, informative, and transparent with pricing. While I waited for service to be completed, I overheard the owner on the phone with numerous customers. He gave them car advice, recommendations, and even advised where they could pick up a few items to do small DIY repairs. No wonder so many people entrust their car service to ALMAR. read more

they were very responsive and explained everything and directed me to a well known auto body shop to help

I was 9 hours from home visiting family in Charlotte when, the night before Christmas Eve, my car started shaking and my check engine light started blinking. My heart sank, not knowing how I would find a place that could fix whatever was wrong right before the holiday and have me back on the road on Christmas to meet my boyfriend's family. I called a few places as soon as they opened on Christmas Eve with no luck, but when I reached Mike at ALMAR, he told me to bring my car in right away. He was able to diagnose the problem within 2 hours and fixed a number of things that needed replacing. I was able to pick my car back up just a couple hours later on Christmas Eve, and made the 9 hour drive the next day with zero problems whatsoever. Mike and his team truly saved my holiday, and if I lived in the area, I would absolutely return! read more

When I bought my 1966 Chevy I created a significant to do list, some of the them small, some of them not. I took it to Almar and we went over the list. In just a few days I had my car back and was very pleased with the results and the price. I've been back in a couple of times since, most recently this week, and and am always happy with their work and advice. Jack K. read more

10/10 they were very fast and efficient with how they handled the problems with my car I assumed it was my spark plugs so I told them to change them he looked at me and said "do you want me to change the spark plugs or do you want me to tell you what I think is wrong with the car" that let me knew they cared. PS: it wasn't the spark plugs read more

I could not be any happier with the service I got from this place. I had a timing chain issue which is a very expensive repair on my car. Not because of the parts but because you have to practically take half the car apart to get to it. Mike was upfront with me about everything including letting me know that I could probably drive my car for another year in its condition but I would not pass emissions and it would have to eventually be repaired. I was told the repair would take about two days and guess what? It was done in two days. Actually a few hours before. When I picked it up I noticed a squeaking that was not there before. He suspected a little fluid got onto the timing belt but if it was still squeaking after a week, I could bring it back and they'd take care of it. It continued to to squeak and so I brought it back a few weeks later. True to their word the replaced the fan belt, which was the source of the noise, at no charge and even threw in an oil change. My car is humming along like the day I bought it now. I hope I don't have anything else but routine maintenance from here until I'm ready to get a newer vehicle. But, I won't hesitate to give these guys a call and turn over my car to them for any future maintenance. read more

I recently needed tires for my 2019 RAM truck and they were able to make some recommendations based on their experience with different brands. They were very knowledgeable and professional. They installed 4 new premium tires, balanced them and checked alignment while I waited. Rusty and his crew are top notch and we will continue to have them service our vehicles. Jerry Smith read more

I live in NJ and my son is attending UNCC. He thought he had a dead battery and went to auto zone. Several hundred dollars and one day later, the typically reliable car died. The towing mechanic suggested it was the alternator. I had to make a rapid choice for where to have the car towed to. I came across ALMAR's stellar ratings and decided to take a chance. Although it was after-hours, I called to leave a message explaining why there was a random car in their lot. Much to my surprise, I received a phone call later that evening from Rusty, asking about a missed call from my number. I had an idea then and there that I found a trustworthy business, and I was correct. Rusty coordinated the repair with my son, and the job was completed quickly and efficiently, for a very fair price. Rusty and ALMAR have all of my future business and I will recommend them to everyone we know in the Charlotte area without reservation. Thank you, Rusty and ALMAR! read more

Mike and Rusty were amazing. Just moved here from CA and was hoping to find a great mechanic out here close to our house in Charlotte and we have found the spot. The guys took care of my Jeep with no problem and had it done the same day. Professionalism and customer service were great. Thanks again guys! read more

Rusty and team are my guardian angels. I have been a customer for over 5 years and this team is now my family! I am happily greeted by Rusty or Mike at every visit, regardless of how busy they are or how big my car problem may be. They are professionals that always explain very clearly the work that needs to be done to repair my vehicle(s), and I trust them completely. I appreciate all of their hard work and value their advice. I would give them more stars if I could! Highly recommend! read more

Took my car to get inspected since it was close to my work. I had hit a mailbox 2 days before which broke my tail light and was freaking out. I put a temp fix on it until I could get my new lights in. A friend of mine does inspections and he assured me that what I had on was legal and would pass. That someone would have to be a real a-hole to fail that. Well I went to this shop and sure as heck they failed me! I couldn't believe it. I don't know if they are just sticklers here or if they were trying to sell me a part, but they wont be getting my business again. Update: My car was not breaking any laws per NC state guildelines. read more

The best mechanics I've found in town. Knowledgeable, friendly, polite, and affordable. I won't be bringing my car anywhere else!!

Untrustworthy - I purchased two sets of warranties tires. After first set didn't perform the warranty promised never showed up. Then requiring another tire (yes my 9th in 14 months) and being promised they would finally credit me the warranty owed for the new tire- they mismatched it and charged me double. These are bad guys. read more

2 Things: I have a Corvair, and I was intrigued by this place and am glad someone gave it a good review, have read good reviews online of the company but not this location TO MIKE, the 1st poster...really dude, you expect a mechanic to give you a price on something YOU diagnosed?..where in the hell have you ever found this except maybe if someone in your family owned a garage?...you think a housepainter would give u a price over the phone?...a doctor?....a computer tech??..the only place i can think of that'll quote u a price on the phone is a Chinese restaurant...ANY mechanic that'd give me a price sight unseen, i'd assume he's as big a idiot as some of these posters are (HINT HINT MIKEY) read more

I always receive great service at Almar and this time was no different. I first brought my 2001 Ford Focus in for work in 2010 after getting an outrageous quote for service from the auto shop at the Ford dealership. A few years later, I now bring my newer car in for any work that needs to be done. I can trust that they'll let me know what needs to be done and what doesn't. My husband was so impressed with the service and quality we received when I took my car in for new tires this week that he made an appointment for his car to be serviced next week. I'm thankful to have a trustworthy place to take our cars! read more

Great place! New to the area and have been trying out different shops for various repairs and upkeep to see where I want to keep taking my car. This place has fair prices and friendly service. Had my brake pads and drive belt replaced here. It was easy to make an appointment and they did a good job. Didn't try to sell me anything or push me to buy any products, just gave me a knowledgeable explanation of what needed to be repaired. I will be definitely be returning. read more

I'd been to plenty of other places in Charlotte before I found Almar Auto. Since I found them, I haven't gone anywhere else. Ok I'm a girl- so being friendly and explaining whats going on with my car is important to me. They are not only friendly, but knowledgeable. They always diagnosed the problems with my ten year old car and fixed it as they said. I'd even shown them receipts from past work done and they smiled and said "oh, wow- thats a lot. We can do better every time." And they did. read more

Rusty was extremely helpful. I called after the dealer told me what I needed repaired. I should have just come straight to ALMAR, I will in the future. Getting repairs with ALMAR saved me about $500. I was walked through what could possibly have been wrong and what costs would be for each scenario. They were direct, communicative, fast, and efficient. I highly recommend skipping the dealer and taking your business to ALMAR. Thank you! read more

I trust Almar's to fix our three cars. They have been honest and upfront about repair options and costs. I called today when my Honda Pilot wouldn't not start. Automotive repair is one of those fields where you truly want to "know a guy," or even "know a guy who knows a guy." So let me be your middle-guy here and tell you this is the place to take your ride. My family has been using Almar for all of our cars for years. They are straight forward, they will do whatever they can to make your automobile safe and legal to drive without breaking the bank. I take pre-owned cars here to have them evaluated before I purchase and they have never steered me wrong. Tap the brakes! Nothing is free, but they will not run up the labor or start replacing things that don't need replacing. There is a reason they are always busy, they do the job the right way. I would have no issues recommending this place in the future to all my friends and family. If you want to utilize an independent shop that can work on all types of vehicles you should at the very least get a quote from Almar on South Blvd. They are a pleasure to work with.. Also - if you have to wait a while, walk a block up to Scaleybark & South and grab a burger at Zacks, you won't be disappointed with it either! read more

This is my second time coming to the Almar's and so far I've been really pleased with the service and the work done on my truck. These guys are God's gift to Charlotte! Super honest, fantastic work, and absolutely beyond reasonable pricing. I used to come and only get big jobs done here like rack and pinion, ac and catalytic converter work, but recently fired the dealer and now come strickly to Almar for all my vehicle needs. The office ain't to shabby either, with free internet, halfway decent coffee (Hey you can't have everything in life, plus it's free!), and super clean bathrooms, it's easy to come in during the week and plug in remotely while the guys do their thing. I have recommended co workers to Almar and they all thank me for introducing them to this group of super honest, highly qualified mechanics. So if your mechanic sucks and you're tired of getting ripped off, it really is greener on the other side when you get to Almar! read more
