A very quiet and calm environment, but I wouldn't necessarily say peaceful. If you're someone who doesn't go to salons a lot and aren't very familiar with the process, I wouldn't go to this one. For one, this place is overpriced and two, the women are not very helpful or good at listening to what you're looking for. The woman who did my nails wouldn't let me use my first choices for gel manicure because she said the color would be too translucent, but the color she ended up choosing for me was very translucent anyway and you can see through it even though she did many layers. I don't get my nails done often, so I'm not sure if it's common practice to ask for cut/shape right off the bat (though I hadn't mentioned one). She was about to paint before I asked her about the cut and shape, and she very hurriedly clipped and shaped my finger nails too short and too acute. None of my nails are a consistent length or shape - they look pretty bad unfortunately. Huge waste of $30. read more

I live in the city, but my mom and I come here every two weeks. We usually get manicures and pedicures together. Sometimes I get my eyebrows done as well. These ladies are speedy and very talented. We never make an appointment and even when there is a wait, they get to us within 15 minutes. Some of the ladies make conversation and some are more focused. Either way, they are always professional. The prices cannot be beat. For the last few months, I have been getting no chip manicures, and when I get one a GM, it lasts about three weeks. They always have current magazines too. read more

First time here. Will not be going back. Got mani - pedi. Pedi only painted twice and I know it will chip away very fast. Mani a huge dissapointment. Also painted twice and top coat and while drying I have noticed bubbles on the nine of my painted nails. Asked to fix it and the lady just painted over the nails but did such a sloppy job that the edges are uneven and still shows the bububbles. read more

They don't do a good job, they're not careful with their customers( the lady cut me 3 times and burned me with alcohol and it's a pretty deep cut) she also knew she cut me, didn't say sorry and I was expecting a discount or something and not even that. Went to this place and I told her how I wanted my manicure with my sister, my sisters were rushed and she cut her fingers a couple times. For mine she didn't do what I wanted, I kept telling her and she just said "okay I got it" and wouldn't look up. When it came to paying they knew that I wasn't happy with it and she still charged me full price. When they were done with my sister the lady rushed out and we noticed that they didn't cover everything in her nails so we had to wait another 20 minutes for them to fix it and still gave us attitude. I used to go to another salon until the lady that did my nails moved to another state. I hated the salon, but was very fond of my manicurist. So I was lost, going to one salon after another, never satisfied. That was over a year ago. My niece brought me to GM Nails where she & all of her friends have been going to for years, now I know why. GM Nails is non-pretentious; it's warm & welcoming I have never felt uncomfortable. All of the ladies that work at GM Nails are very pleasant & engaging when you talk to them. Even when they are very busy, I have never felt like I'm being rushed. There are always at least 4 technicians on duty even during the week. It's a very clean establishment & they are diligent about their sanitation, & sterilization, which is very important to me. They are very accommodating, & their prices are very reasonable. Pedicure; Diane, Jenny, Sue, and Ann are the ladies that usually do my pedicure, they are all very good. I have never been cut, pinched or had any pain during my sessions. They listen & are attentive to your requests. I am very particular about my feet & they are always happy to accommodate me. You can tell it is important to them that the clients are satisfied & happy with the service. My feet never looked or felt so good; I would recommend any of them. No chip Manicure; I have been doing No Chip manicures for about 6 years, & have had them done in many salons. Diane has been the only one that has done my No Chip manicure at this salon, so I can only attest to her service. She is amazing; she is by far the Best I have ever had. Everything is done to perfection & on point. When she applies the polish she goes right to the cuticle without getting polish on the cuticle or skin. I have had technicians leave a large gap & it looks like I need a manicure in a week, or they put the no chip on too "thick"; it doesn't look natural. My No Chip has never bubbled, chipped, or peeled & lasts for 3 weeks when Diane does them. Diane always remembers the colors I like, how I like my nails shaped, she does this for all her regulars, as most professionals do. But I have never had the experience where the technicians make sure to find the No Chip colors to match your pedicures perfectly, without having to get up and search through all of the colors yourself. Yes ladies, tell them when you walk in that you want your toes to match your No chip & if they don't already have a match they will gladly hunt through all the colors to make sure your toes match your fingers perfectly. At my age...it's the little things. When I go to a nail salon I want a no stress, relaxing couple of hours in a clean & pleasant atmosphere. When I leave the salon I want my feet & hands to look Fabulous, because it makes me feel Fabulous. I normally go on a weekday with no appointment. They are very accommodating, & their prices are very reasonable.They are open 7 Days a week, the weekends are busy so I would suggest an appointment, but they are not necessary. I hate people who leave bad reviews but I felt like they didn't even want me there. I am sure it was just my lady and the others are nice but like when she was grinding down my nails she kept grinding my skin, I don't know if she was trying to grind my cuticles or something...not sure...I don't know but it is painful when they put that grinder thing on your skin!! Also 3 dollars extra to file the tips of your nails to make them a little shorter...weird...I have been getting my nails done forever and never heard of that one...it was only 3 dollars but it bugged me...Im sure the other ladies are nice though...the only thing I liked was that the table where you go to dry your nails includes fans...I like that...I am sure others might have nice experiences there and I probably caught this lady on a bad day but I didn't care much for it.... read more

I went in for a full white-tip gel set, which is not cheap ($40). During my experience, my nails had bubbles in them which were VERY visible. I pointed this out to the lady doing my nails, and she said it was "just how the gel is." I KNOW this is not "just how the gel is" because I have had my nails done a MILLION times at other places. I use to come here quite often for the low prices, for a regular mani and pedi only $35. But you get less than you pay for. They rush the process so fast and make you wash your hands, instead of using a warm towel on your hands. They also do not do a short massage at the end. They are very rude also. The nail techs are more interested in what is on the tv then your nails or toes. Once time I accidentally smudged my finger while I was drying it under the fan and I asked for the lady to fix it, and she said in a very rude tone "be careful". They use a very rude tone when talking to you, and they still expect you to give a tip after that. One time I was getting a pedicure and one of the younger nail techs, (not sure if she still works there) but anyways she was doing my toes and I had just gotten my nails done so I asked her to roll up my pants and she gave me a dirty look and said "okay then" and i still gave her a tip and this girl did not even say thank you. They are very rude and unprofessional and everything chips very fast. I came in here one time with my friend who speaks the same language as them because I always thought they were talking bad about me. When we walked in we acted as if we didn't know each other and she acted like she could not understand what they were saying. She said that they said things like that "I always ask for too much I don't tip well and my toes are weirdly shaped" lol I definitely gave no tip. Also they are so greedy the fact I even use to tip them is a lot. They expect people to tip so much and are very greedy. Why would I give my hard earned money to rude greedy people? After great reviews of this place and being in the area I said "Hey I'll check this place out!" BIG MISTAKE!!!! I have been growing my eyebrows out for about 10 months. When the woman came to me I explained "I would like my eyebrows THICK not THIN" I even made some hand gestures to help her understand.She smiled and said OK. That gave me some comort.BUT then she started doing my eyebrows as if she was going to do my eye shadow (sitting up). I have NEVER had my eye brows done like that before.At the end of her doing my eyebrows she handed me the mirror and I was in total shock. My eyebrows were thinner than ever!!! After several months of growing them out there was nothing else I could do. So when it was time to pay,as upset as I was that I didnt want to pay I handed over my card and they wouldnt run it for a transaction less then $10. Had I been satisfied I would have said run it for $10 leaving a $5 tip BUT clearly I was not and I refused to leave them extra money. I only had $2 cash on me so I had to call someone to drop off $5 to me at the salon. And as I was on the phone with the person brining me the money my phone totally dies!!! So I had to use the salon's phone. After 3 mins on it trying to explain where I am at the people who work there have the nerve to tell me "you waste business phone" So that just pissed me off!!!! Moral of the story is if you go to this place you need to tell them in detail or show them a picture of what you want. NEVER will I go back to this EVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!!! read more
