Booked an appointment for a city style and make up today. It was my birthday and I wanted to pamper myself. But I didn't realize it was prom as well. You could tell everyone was exhausted after an insane day. I would love to give them another try when not on a busy day. My blow out was ok, not the bet I have ever had. Although she was great about touching up a couple pieces after I looked in the mirror. I think the front of house staff could be a bit more customer experience focused. I own a business so I get this is hard, especially on a busy day. But recognizing that I am new client and it's my first time. The website says new clients get a complimentary drink, but it was never offered. Or even a drink period. Yet with the beverage center right up front, seemed to be a focus of their experience. Bianca did my make-up and the girl killed it!! She made up for any lack of experience prior. She spent quite a bit of time making my make-up on fire! She has a great eye! She was super great even after a really long day! I also would like the option to put my own tip down for services. I probably would have tipped Bianca more because she really did go above and beyond, but didn't want to give that % on my whole service. The other girl who provided my blow out was up front so I didn't want to have to say that out loud because she still deserved the 20%. Overall a cute space, a great array of services! If they tighten up the front of house and customer experience they will do really well! I will give it another try on a different day and update if my experience is different! I gave this place a shot for one year. As an executive of a start-up, I was super patient with Loni and wanted this place to be the spot I went to for a fresh look and relaxation. Many times I accepted damaged hair, over processed ends and incorrectly toned hair, hoping they would "grow up to be the professional salon I dreamed of. The last 6 times I had my hair done here, each drying session felt like a torture chair as my dried locks revealed nothing that I asked for. This last time I asked for a long blunt "lob" and subtle baby highlights, which is how I always asked for my highlights. Looking at these pictures should explain my frustration, even if I wanted a "choppy" cut, which I hate, it's not 1995, who would be happy with this cut? Don't trust Glosshouz, you will never get the same stylist, they will ruin your hair and charge you to fix it. read more

I have driven past this place for a while and finally decided to come in. With clean lines and an emphasis on white, the inside really popped. When I walked in the front door the receptionist was getting her hair dyed by a fellow coworker - I thought I had gone in the wrong door. But, they had time for a manicure so I gave it a spin. What first struck me was the number of girls chatting and standing around. Also more exposed bra straps and too short shirts than I've seen since the baby tees of the 90s. Unprofessional attire aside my nail tech did a lack luster job of painting my nails with many gaps in the color, even after asking her to fix them. While waiting to pay (one person ahead of me) the group of employees stood in front of me and chatted about boys without acknowledging me. All in all, there is nothing that would bring me back here. I would recommend a dress code, certification classes and a manager on site to help pull this swanky looking place out of its sorority house feel. I had the absolute worst experience at this salon yesterday. I made an appointment for a dry blow out (no shampoo) and was excited to be pampered for a few minutes. I arrived on time and they were having an open house, complete with free champagne. My daughter and I were impressed with how clean and white and friendly the front staff was. We were seated fifteen minutes later (!!) and I showed the stylist a picture of what I wanted - soft waves, very light style. The stylist was friendly and professional - told me she had been doing hair for 20 years. My daughter watched with a slight horrified face but I couldn't figure out what was going on. No mirrors anywhere, no question about whether I liked it or if I needed anything. Ten minutes later she's done and sprays my hair and hands me a small hand mirror. She had curled my hair with spiral Shirley Temple curls!! Exactly what I asked her not to do!! I was so upset, but I put a smile on my face and went to check out (I was late to getting home for a party and I hate making a scene so I pretended just to get out of there). Icing on the cake - they proceeded to charge me for a full blow out, even though I didn't get a shampoo!! I raced home, jumped in the shower, and straightened my hair. I was devastated and this stylist obviously had not clue what she was doing. I was actually very disappointed in the front staff as well - I very clearly asked for what I wanted and they didn't do it and then pretended not to care or notice that it wasn't done well. I will not go back to this salon - what a bummer because we really wanted to like it. read more

I was at this facility about 4 months ago. Very nice facility and very friendly technician. The products used for my service didn't work and was overpriced for the lackluster results. When I told the owner I was dissatisfied she didn't apologize or ask why (even though the technician knew the session did not deliver the results advertised). The ladies changing area/bathroom doesn't offer the amenities normally provided by a spa. No lotion or other supplies one would use after a bath soak or having their hair pulled up. They are understaffed and need to get someone that know how to greet clients and work the scheduling software. It's unfortunate my experience was not a good experience as I was looking for a facility near my workplace that provided hair and spa services that we could buy gift certificates for and give to our employees. read more

First time I went was taking my mom for mothers day. It was the only place I could find that could get us in for 2 facials and 2 pedicures at the same time. They ended up mixing this up (I should've learned my lesson then) but I loved the girl that did my facial so I signed up for the recurring membership after being talked into it. Every. Single. Appointment. after that they changed the scheduling of it. I never got to go at the time that I had scheduled a month out. Most of these times I was told that the person I was scheduled with is "no longer with them". Clearly their high turnover rate is affecting their customers, note to management.. Keep your employees happy or your business is doomed! Today they decided to change my appointment to the middle of the day (it was scheduled for after work) and not tell me. I got the automated notification telling me (and not that it had changed, it looked like that was what I originally made it for, which I hadn't). They seemed to care very little that this affected me negatively. I told them that since this is the last month of my 3 month commitment to the recurring membership, that I would like to cancel. I was told when I signed up that I could cancel literally any time because they only cared about customer happiness. Now I have to go in and sign something that gives 30 day notice and another payment will be pulled from a place I have no desire to go to again. What a joke. Moral of this, KEEP YOUR EMPLOYEES HAPPY. IT IS AFFECTING YOUR CUSTOMERS! And, TELL YOUR CUSTOMER if you are changing their appointment time. Ridiculous. Save your money and go elsewhere. read more

My boyfriend bought me $500 gift card to this place for my birthday. My first visit was for an overpriced pedicure and manicure given the mediocre service received the price makes no sense. I never got a tour they say you get on your first visit. Apparently foot massages are not a thing with their pedicures here which is something done everywhere else for less money. The girls giving pedicures were friendly, but I could have done without the side chitchat about hating their job/boss. Now the manicure, this was horrible all around. The girl accidentally made me bleed and never acknowledged it. The polish smudged while she was painting them and rather than removing the polish and repainting she just put another coat on top. I'll admit I didn't say anything mostly because I just wanted out of there at that point. The next day several nails had chipped polish on them. I had to go somewhere else to get them repainted. Second visit was a massage. Nothing special the girl was really nice. Again no foot rub here either guess that's not part of the "full body" massage. The third visit was a Brazilian wax and I was left with several areas missed. 4th and last ever visit was another pedicure and it was the same service as before except the girl doing my pedicure was not nice. The girl kept complaining about having to do the pedicure, and wanted to go on break asking anyone else to take over. I was waiting to write this review until my gift card was used up, but now that I have decided to reimburse my boyfriend rather than use the remaining $85 on the gift card it's time to write this review. I really wanted this place to be absolutely wonderful. The technician was great, but I'm not a big fan of the product and the order they did it in. I got the hydration wrap and bath and it wasn't really hydrating at all. My skin is so dry! I was told to do the bath afterwards but I think the salt just dried out my skin and made the wrap useless. Also their facility looks really nice, but I thought it was odd that they didn't have lotion, hair brush or blow dryers in their locker room. It's pretty expensive so I wanted it to be really good. It was relaxing, but the results aren't what I wanted them to be. Not sure if I will be back. read more

I stopped in yesterday and made an appointment to get my hair colored. I told the person whom I made the appoint with, that I would need to be bleached before the color was applied. She quoted a price of 95 plus about 30 more for the bleaching. I made the appointment for 2:30. I immediately received an email that said my appointment was for 2 pm. I arrived at 1:45 just in case and was offfered a drink. Chelsea was very nice. I was sat in a chair and asked what I wanted done and was told it would be 200 plus 3 dollars per foil. I asked to see a menu and poor Chelsea had to search to find one. Sure enough, 200 for a "double" process. Chelsea was visibly embarrassed and I chose to not get my hair done here. They need to train their receptionist better for pricing. Not happy at all and would not recommend this to anyone else. Edit: Loni, the owner contacted me and offered to fix the problem. She offered a discount if I would try them again. I made a new appointment and was paired with a new person. (not that the first woman was the problem) I got my hair colored today and it is beautiful. I am very happy with the way it turned out and, for color at least, I would recommend Alexis. read more

I'm so conflicted on this review. This place is like that dress you buy that you want to love, because it's the perfect color and looks great on the hanger, but just can't find a place to wear it, or it doesn't fit just right...so, sadly, in the end, it gets sent to Goodwill with the tags still on. As I read in a couple other reviews, however, there are some people that felt some similar less than stellar things about this place. First of all, Glosshouz is gorgeous and in one of my favorite locations in town! I have been to many spas in many countries/states (I was the one 7 year old who always wanted mani/pedis and facials for Christmas!) and this is definitely one of the prettier ones. THE BEST PART of this place is Shanna, she is one of those people you want to be best friends with and can talk to about anything. She's also super knowledgeable and great at what she does! I could not be more impressed by her! The part of my visit that wasn't so stellar was upon checkout when I was informed that the price I was charged for my service was more than I was told it would be. This was caused by a confusion with deals they had going on not being compatible with another discount I was receiving. The difference was $15, so I was obviously fine with it, but it was just handled awkwardly/sternly. This would normally be fine, but the owner may need to finesse her customer service skills, and I also get a "nickel and dime-y" feel from the place. With so much competition of beauty places around Denver, I feel like customer service should be friendly and warm. It might not be meant to be, but I'm glad to see there are other great reviews for Glosshouz because I love to see small businesses succeed! read more

I want to start out by saying that Glosshouz is a beautiful facility! All white and modern. Great product lines as well. I mean come on, what lady doesn't love to have her nails done AND get some bubbly! :) Since Glosshouz is close to me in the Park Meadows area, I was thrilled to have a nice spa to get a mani/pedi and an occasional blow out. They also offer a wide range of medical spa treatments. If it was just this paragraph it would deserve 5 stars. I called and spoke to the lady who answered the phone, Loni, about eyelash extensions. I've been wanting to get them for a long time and have always been a little scared to do it. After chatting with her I decided to book an appointment for that afternoon (this past Monday) so I didn't have time to change my mind. For the life of me, I can't remember the name of the dark haired lady who did my lashes. Very nice and I asked her how long she had been doing them and she said about 8 years. I thought ok then she knows what she is doing, I'm at a nice place, I don't need to worry. After almost 2 hours I had beautiful lashes! When I got up and looked at them they looked great even though my eyes burned a little. She told me the burning would go away after 5-10 minutes. My eyes are a little sensitive anyway so I figured no big deal and it'd probably take them awhile to get used to the new lashes. She really did make the lashes look good! Unfortunately it was very short lived. The next morning when I woke up my left eyelid was a little swollen. To make a long story short, it was downhill from there. I was hesitant to think anything was wrong with the lashes because I was getting so many compliments on them. I called and spoke to Loni, who I have since found out is the owner, and described to her what was going on. By this time both my eyes were really red, swollen and itched like crazy. She told me I should go see a doctor. Didn't mention that maybe, just maybe, it could be the eyelashes. So I did go see my doctor who told me I should go get the lashes taken off. He must have thought I was crazy! I called Loni and she fit me in to have them removed. She also told me on the phone that it was going to be $50 to have them removed. I was in such a hurry to get them off my eyes I didn't even debate it. The lady who removed my lashes was not the same one who put them on. She said that there was a lot of adhesive ON MY EYELID!! That's where the problem was.....they are supposed to be an extension of your eyelash, not stuck to your eyelid. It felt better as soon as she took them off. Loni waved the $50 removal fee. I would certainly hope so!! I had the lashes on less than 3 days. I do understand that I willingly went in to get this procedure, but I also thought that someone competent and reputable would be doing it. I'm sure she has done tons of them before and they were fine....but mine weren't. I feel like Loni should have offered me my money back for the whole thing or at least done something to show she was sorry for the situation. When I walked in with red, swollen eyes she could barely remember that we talked 20 minutes before. In my experience with customer service you try everything you can to have a satisfied customer. It's just good business sense and I don't feel like she did anything to even make me try and come back. She even argued with me when I told her about the eyelash adhesive being on my eyelid saying the lady was very experienced. Sorry for the long email! I'm sorry I have to write it. Ladies PLEASE....do NOT go here to get your eyelash extensions. These are our eyes!! Go to someone who comes recommended thru friends or beauty pros. read more

So luxurious! It's a resolution of mine to focus on self care--and I don't mean just taking a bubble bath every so often. I mean real indulgences, like taking proper care of my skin and nails in the harsh Colorado weather. I kicked off this new year goal with a facial from Glosshouz, and I gotta say--I think this is one resolution I'll actually keep. It was by far the best facial I've ever had! From the moment I walked in, the gals at Glosshouz made me feel completely pampered. The spa is gorgeous--with sleek white walls and and a long "beauty bar" for ultimate luxury vibes. You're offered a beverage (rosé, anyone?) with service, though I stuck to water this time. Now, onto the facial! I was given a super comfy robe and slippers to wear and a locker for my things. I opted for the 60 minute custom essential facial, which was done by Lex (who I adored!). She gave me a few different options we decided upon the Juice Beauty facial. I have used their products in the past and trusted Lex's judgement based on my skin assessment. The facial was incredibly thorough while still being so pampering--I didn't want it to end! My skin came out glowy and much more even than before. I promptly scheduled another facial for the next month, and I'm so glad I did! Even a week later, my skin is feeling clean and healthy. Though I've only had a facial at Glosshouz, I'm excited to try some of their other services soon. From blow outs to manicures to massages, they seem to do it all! The spa itself makes you feel more beautiful, and the staff truly cares about the work they do. It's a little out of the way if you live in central Denver, but the ease of parking makes up for it for me (and super convenient if you live/work in DTC). I have two little kids and rarely get to do anything for myself, so I came here for my birthday. Made appointments for a 60-minute facial at 1 and 60-minute massage at 2. Facial started at 1:15 and ended at 2; massage started at 2:10 and ended at 2:53 (the therapist had turned the clock away, so I feel like he knew he was shorting me). Facialist was very sweet, but she used way fewer steps than I am used to and my skin felt parched within 10 minutes of leaving her room. Massage therapist was good but the table squeaked the whole time. Overall it was a pretty negative experience and I would definitely recommend spending your money elsewhere. read more

I just moved here from California and was excited to find this place that does everything as I need a hair stylist and a manicurist. I received a gel manicure a week ago and on every single one of my nails the polished has lifted so badly that I peeled it off. The manicurist kept commenting on how crappy the nail polish was adhering but never did anything about it. This girl spent 6+ hours with me to bring my very dark hair to a fun, silvery, ashy blonde on the ends and keeping my natural color on top - blending the colors into a BEAUTIFUL gradient. I love the way it turned out, and she is so personable that I instantly felt insanely comfortable with her. All of the hair dreams I always thought were unattainable became my reality because of her attention to detail and her amazing skill set. My hair still feels very healthy and soft - she's a god dang wizard. Bailey also waxed my brows (my first time ever) and I am SO PLEASED with the results. I have a scar on my brow bone and I've been pretty upset about it since it happened, and Bailey seriously made it disappear. Terrible salon experience! In September 2021, I initially spent over $1500 + monthly member ship fees for laser hair removal. The program included a "smooth guarantee". 6-7 treatments is recommended for eliminating hair growth. I noticed after 8 treatments my hair was still growing and started asking the technician to involve management in Oct 2022, i was told a manger would call me. After another 6 week follow up and hair still growing, i asked again for a manager to contact me for resolution. I was told someone would call and assistant manager asked me to try three more rounds of treatment (12) to give a new tech strategy a try. Again no one ever called each follow up i came in for. Meanwhile I'm still paying a monthly membership fee so i can maintain the "smooth guarantee". After 14 treatments over 18 months, my hair is still growing. I ended up canceling my membership since no one cared to give me a resolution. The manager Anna & owner Laylonie Le Van-Etter are terrible professionals that do not care about client experience or even the basics of customer service to simply call a client and try to resolve concerns. I have never heard from anyone until after I cancelled my membership and told them via email I would submit this complaint. The voicemail they left me stated they tried to call me which is a huge lie! Too little too late! The laser hair program is a scam and i was told by one of the techs that the machine is terrible and it costs them nothing to power it on. Yet I'm out thousands of dollars- DO NOT DO BUSINESS AT THIS SALON! read more
