The price for the service we got is definitely not worth it. The server we had with the curly hair and lost boy shirt was lowkey kind of rude and had attitude. They seemed annoyed with us while taking our order, which is weird cause they were smiley and friendly with every other table who were not minority. The food was good but at what cost. I put name down around 12 for 3 people, with an 2 hour wait time estimate, which I fully understood and agreed to. I received a text at 1:04 that our table was ready and went inside to check in, the host let us know that we were 1 minute over the 10 minute period in which you had to check in. It was 1:06 at the time and I showed him that I revived the text 2 minutes ago. He proceeded to tell me that my friend who was parking had to be there in 5 minutes or the table would be forfeited. I had to show him my friends location that she was two minutes away and walking over, to which he said "I believe you". Going to brunch shouldn't feel like the hunger games or that you are inconveniencing your staff for being there. It is solely a breakfast place and is only open during the limited time of breakfast, so closes by 3 pm every day. High demand and limited supply, so we waited an hour to get a table. While waiting you could order coffee, drinks, and pastry items, if you wished. We both ordered the biscuits and sausage gravy, and they were such a perfect meal. They came with perfectly crispy hashbrowns, and eggs however you like them. I got mine over easy, which is my favorite way to cook them. It was very good. The sausage gravy also has mushrooms in them, so the flavor has wonderful depth and richness. The biscuits had a good softness and flavor to them, and a very crunchy outside. The portion was huge, I was able to take the entire second biscuit home for leftovers, after I ate the other biscuit, hashbrown, and eggs. The breakfast diner is very stylish and decorated like a 50's tv show! The neon glowing sign and the huge rock wall back drop, as well as the curved furniture and bar finishes all contribute to the ambiance. The hostess, baristas, and other waiters were all competent and friendly. We had good service throughout. I would love to come here again, but must be prepared for the wait. We ordered a couple of their top hits. The coffee cake was steamy and delicious, with a hint of that sour cream. I really liked the green onion addition to the original scramble, which was perfectly scrambled. Hash browns here are also distinctive and maximize the buttery crispy surface area. Poached eggs were standard but done well. Corned beef hash was pretty good, but could have used a side of greens because it was very one-note, although corned beef itself was tender and had some flavor. I don't live close but often make the trip to the city to pick friends up from the airport or for errands. Whenever I'm close, I make sure to stop by for the best breakfast. We were heading to a cat cafe right after so we just asked for some ice (for the warm water set on the table) and lemon. After he came by twice more (once to bring me a sample taste of the mushroom sausage gravy and then to drop off the coffee cake Corina ordered) and still didn't bring ice or lemons, I asked again. We ordered the glorito - a breakfast burrito, and the biscuits and gravy that was on the specials menu. The sausage and mushroom gravy was probably the best breakfast gravy I've ever had. The plates arrived piled high! SO much food. Corina enjoyed the coffee cake. Said it was flavorful and sweet and it arrived piping hot. She enjoyed her Glorito - said the sour cream and guac are a must to cut how salty the eggs were. Speaking of salt, the hash browns were so salty. My food was super salty too. The first few bites were good and then it was too much. I left a lot in my plate. The biscuits were large and the hash browns double a normal portion size and cooked just like I like them. Went here for brunch on Easter Sunday, got in the waitlist at 11 and they estimated it was about a 90 minute wait and I think it was 100 when we got seated. The spot is super nice and overlooks the cap hill Sunday market and is decorated super cute and has super nice service. All of the food I got was really good. My eggs Benedict was super good, I got fruit instead which costed 5 extra which is kinda crazy though. I also tried their biscuits and gravy as side which was meh, just not very flavorful. My friends all liked their dishes it seemed. I got the screwdriver which was super yummy and I thought was the best drink, the strawberries on the bottom add to it. The Irish coffee cocktails are def very coffee, I debated getting it bc the menu mentioned Swiss miss on it but it was much more bitter than I thought. The cream was tasty though. Overall this place is great but it's a bit pricey and the lines are a bit crazy, we did go on Easter Sunday when the cap hill market was going so maybe an extra crazy wait than usual. Serving sizes are large and match the price point the dish as at, everything was delicious (especially after a pilates workout), but nothing really blew me away.
