Ambrose Solar - Wow! Wow! Wow! Gorgeous solar install by Ambrose Solar!

My husband and I dug in our heels FOREVER, when it came to getting solar. There were all kinds of…read moresalespeople who came to our home on a monthly basis, and we just never had a real peace about being able to trust what we were being " sold", or told. My parents purchased solar from a HORRIBLE company that sounds a lot like 'SunFun'. After they passed away, and the house was sold...we were STILL making the monthly payments for over a year!!! That SunFun organization REFUSED to transfer the solar to the new homeowner, and eventually stopped taking or acknowledging our calls. It wasn't until we had to threaten the new homeowner with a lawsuit that SunFun finally transferred ownership. Due to this, we could not trust any of these solar companies...that is, until Kevin Bedard came to our home, and explained everything in great detail to my husband and I. He took the time to hear about our concerns, and he showed us how he truly cared. That same week, we spoke to two other families who shared their positive experiences about Ambrose Solar that made us feel that we would be in great hands. We had FINALLY FOUND A PEACE about getting solar on our home; KNOWING we would be in good hands, and we were ALL IN. It's been six months now, and we are beyond pleased with our solar panels, and the two Tesla batteries we have purchased. We are true fans, who have NOTHING but RAVE REVIEWS for this company. If you don't have solar, or if you need to add solar, Kevin Bedard is your man! and Ambrose is your company. Every employee has been amazing and helpful. In a world where customer service has taken a dump, this company has remained a class act. So again...if you are considering solar, call Ambrose, and tell them Albert and Rhonda sent you.

Any home renovation project has bumps, and this one had its fair share: after initial install they monitor the systems production remotely to see if it's doing what it's supposed to/expected to, and my system was initially under-performing. They caught it and sent out a team to problem solve it, which took a couple tries, but they didn't drag their feet, they kept on it and kept at it and got it resolved. It was no fault of theirs, just a technology glitch. Core fear was that they would give up after a couple failures and leave me following up with them to get it done, but I never had to worry about that. I also did not end up liking where they placed the control box- it was something that was going to make future maintenance of my house trim problematic down the line. They willingly moved it up a few inches for me (and my only complaint was the team that did that didn't patch the original hole as efficiently as they should have. If I had understood the box placement better on the first pass that would never have happened, so this is a bit of a complaint of my own making.) Jon Landsman, who sold me the system, stayed with us the whole time tracking the project, checking in, and following through on every detail, every question, every concern. He never made me feel like the demanding diva that I am, was always prompt and gracious! The bottom line is that start to finish, even with a few bumps in the road, I have zero question that this is a company that legitimately cares about doing what is right. The culture of deeply valuing customer service that they have built is unmatched by many businesses these days. I am SO pleased, and SO impressed, and I can promise that you will be too!

From the first conversation through final commissioning, the team was professional, communicative, and consultative. Chris in sales was our main point of contact throughout and did an excellent job educating us on our options, setting expectations, and keeping us informed. Once the project kicked off, Ashley, our project manager, was fantastic at guiding us through each step, coordinating scheduling, and making sure all the moving parts stayed aligned. We were on a tight timeline and she made sure the project kept pace and finished on schedule. Installation was smooth and the technicians took the time to show us the system and answer every question so we felt confident using it. Overall, we were very impressed with sales, project management, and the field team. We would definitely recommend Citadel Roofing & Solar to anyone considering a solar system.

I had my solar panels and power wall battery installed around March 2025. Sometime around September…read more2025 when I checked my Tesla app, it was grayed out my power wall was off-line. I contacted Citadel and let me tell you it's been going on almost 6 months and they still have not resolved the issue. I actually had to reach out to Tesla directly for them to confirm that I'm not crazy. It's not a Wi-Fi issue. There was a ground fault error. I relayed this information to Leslie and her supervisor Bernice. They sent a technician out to check on my battery who also contacted Tesla. You would've think the next time they sent a technician out it would be to go on top of my roof and check all the wiring but instead the same technician came out and again checked the battery and contacting Tesla. Then I was informed they would need two technicians to come out and go on top of the roof and lift all the panels checking all the wires to find where the exact issue is. Obviously, I knew that so I was confused as to why this technician was here a second time only looking at the battery. Weeks later, they sent two technicians out today, January 27, 2026. They go on my roof and they did find an issue in one of the lines however they could not complete their job because they didn't have an MCI. They also didn't have the time to lift all my panels since it's late in the day. All of this should've been noted in their system so that their technicians would have been informed on what was needed. This issue has been dragged out for months. It's now only being "escalated" --because who knows if they're really going to do anything to speed things up and get together and fix all the problems. These things aren't cheap. It's an investment. You would think they would do better when there's so many other solar companies. Go somewhere else. Not worth the headache. I hope the owner sees this review and something actually gets done. I shouldn't have to post a negative review or ask for things to be escalated.

(to prevent pigeons ) They told me and my wife on at least five occasions, that we were in the schedule and not to worry. I took the owner and office manager at their word. I was personally while looking in the owners eyes that bird netting would be installed. Last week they sent the salesman over to drop off a box of bird netting and said it wasn't in the contract so they were not going to have it installed. We had 2 different contracts so I don't honestly know if it was there or not, but I take a man at his word. Micheal (Owner) gave me his word while we were waiting on the city inspection of the power box. Now I fear my warranty on the entire system is as WORTHLESS as his word.

Before signing Steve came out and did a quick job walk. This is what gave him the contract; the closest competitor said he didn't need to do one. RW took care of permitting and inspection - streamlining contra costa paper process and getting the inspector our quick after install. Install took a day. The longest wait was PGE as expected for their back end part. On install they used external conduit but painted and did it tastefully so you can barely tell (our house had internal prepped for Solar but there was issue with the pull tails). Also had a small issue a month after install and they took care of the issue within one day (called in morning and they fixed in afternoon). Good customer service.
