Asa and Jeff are fantastic problem solvers and extremely skilled craftsmen. With the recent high winds, my corner-lot 25yo fence blew down. None of the conventional fence companies would touch it because of the 6x6 posts and 2x8 runners. Asa was more than happy to tackle the project and also willing to discuss how he would go about it without relocating the landscaping and existing paths. Asa is a great communicator/listener and they work WITH you. I am a DIY kind of guy, but I know I could never touch the perfectionism these guys put into the job. These guys are legit, professional, and know how to get things done. Asa came in to do the estimate and although he was competitive in pricing, but not the lowest price, my interaction with him left a good impression and decided to go with his service. Thervice was to replace my old bathtub and install can lighting in the living room, kitchen, and bedroom. Asa went with me to Home Depot to pick out the tub and fixtures and provided his professional opinion during the process. I selected my items and we loaded it up in his truck and got it back to the house. He did a great job installing the tub and repairing the drywall and texturing around the tub The can lighting install in the living room went without a hitch and now have great lighting in this room. The master bedroom light install did not go so well and Asa had an incident, which he had repaired immediately the next day. The lights look great in the master bedroom. The light install was a bit more difficult in the kitchen because he was replacing an old fluorescent light fixture which had to be torn out and patched and textured. The lights install went smoothly but the patchwork and texture did not pass my standards. Asa brought in a drywall specialist to have it done to meet my expectations without an extra cost to me! A few weeks later we heard a loud buzzing sound coming from one of the living room lights and we texted Asa to report this. He came by either that evening or the following day with new lights he installed and returned to Home Depot. Asa's customer service and pride in his workmanship is fantastic! Over the past couple of years, my first in Davis and as a homeowner, I've had them build walls, add outlets and lighting, install floors and trim, and they've always aced it with high quality at a competitive price. It can be hard to find someone you trust to both take your ideas seriously, and tell you when they think you're going the wrong direction and these guys are good at both. They're knowledgeable and friendly about questions, revisions, and customer input, and patient enough to work through long planning and permitting processes. Asa worked with us by phone, email, and in-person with Mary Ann to make sure we got what we were looking for; offered numerous suggestions/ideas to accomplish the same thing for less cost; paid attention to detail that usually only a homeowner would; and they were very professional on the worksite. I found Asa through a friend who had a some window work done recently during a remodel. He came highly recommended and after some recent work he did for me I wanted to mention how impressed I was. He showed up and was able to review what I wanted done and provide me with a detailed explanation of how he would accomplish it. I was thinking of taking a completely different route but his professionalism easily won me over and we moved forward with his suggestions. Once he and his team started working on replacing my kitchen cabinetry I was impressed with the speed and precision. The tile floors that I had him install were also done with care and speed. I had a few things to fix up around the house which he was able to attend to as well after we adjusted the original quote to reflect the extra work. I thought his team would be able to take care of them much more quickly than I could and I was once again impressed.
