Things to note: they offer free estimates, but if you need troubleshooting like we did, the current rate is $200 the first hour and $100 per additional hour needed. If it's a simple fix like ours, you pay the troubleshooting cost plus any materials used. They were able to replace our breaker for us the same day as the scheduled diagnostic which was a great peace of mind for us. For more involved repairs, they provide an estimate before you give the okay to move forward. Their prices are more than fair for our area. Brittney's clear responses to my questions made me want to schedule with C. Bates Electric. I appreciated the transparency and professionalism. Service Requested - some outlets out, some half hot, some OK. Diagnose why…read more Quality- perfect. In and out in a few hours, parts on hand. Value- excellent. With knowledge and parts on hand, no extra time was needed to diagnose and fix the problem. Found these folks through Yelp and it worked out perfectly. Filled out my problem with the electrical and scheduled a time to come out and explore it. I received a text that the tech was in Vacaville and was coming to Davis so that was helpful. There was a window of time in which they'd show up and sure enough it was within that timeframe. He checked the panels and outlets at first. There are so many outlets though. More than you'd think. Discovered some outlets that I'd never used before! One of the outlets across from the kitchen *the most obvious of locations* was one of the last ones he checked. Turns out, that was it. The wiring behind the plug had been deteriorating for some time. So after replacing it, a new panel mount was installed and magically the rest of the outlets worked in the house. Perfect rating because the communication was spot on, the service quick and precise, and it was high quality work at a fantastic price. Recommend this company and will use again in the future.

It was great decision to hire Dante for our electrical upgrades after buying a new home. He was…read moreresponsive, immediately understood the project, was really flexible working with us to break the work down into phases, at a reasonable and fair cost. Our house is an old one, with a mix of knob and tube and modern wiring. We needed new dedicated circuits for various appliances to bring up to code, and Dante quickly understood the needs and was able to let us know we did not yet need an expensive panel replacement as other electricians had been pushing for somewhat aggressively. I really appreciated this touch. He also helped us out with awesome LED recessed lighting and even ran cat6 round the house to my specs with no fuss. Dante had to deal with older construction techniques in our house, like lathe and plaster, and blocking in the walls, and did a great job navigating our crawlspace and attic which enabled him to really reduce the amount of unnecessary damage to our walls. Dante also has helped me understand the process for future improvements that would enable things like solar installation or electric vehicle charging, which would require pulling more power from the provider. I ended up more educated on the topic and will gladly work with Dante again on that when the time comes. The icing on the cake: really easy to get along with. Shared a few good laughs. I enjoyed working on these improvements with him. Highly recommend. I'm definitely going back to Dante for any and all future needs.

So already major points for responding promptly! My project was installing a ceiling fan on vaulted ceilings. I think I contacted them through their website contact form and got an email response directly me to call them to schedule a time for the estimator Nate. The women at the office were very helpful and able to help me easily. Nate arrived bright and early at 8am. He was very thorough in discussing possible options with me. He even went up into the attic. When I mentioned we recently moved in and am not very familiar with the house yet he was incredibly helpful asking if I have any additional electrician questions! That's really going above and beyond! Value wise they are very competitive! The other quote I got was $500 and $700 depending on if there was an existing fan that's simply replaced or an all new install. Vine beat both of those quotes and even have a 5% off summer promo of the estimate if approved same day. I called back with a request to change some details on the installation. The office was able to get the message to Nate and he called me back within the hour. We finalized the quote and work was scheduled early the next week! Lindoro came to do the installation. He arrived promptly and was very polite. Very clean laying down butcher paper. He was also very thorough in confirming details of the installation. Great guy! Nate and Lindoro really made the experience as smooth as possible. Vine is definitely on my short list of electricians to contact for a quote the next time I have a project.
