I was in a bit of a pickle late last week and I called Monticello Electric and they never called back. This is really bad business. If this how the are upfront ai could only imagine what they are like once the start work. read more

You couldn't find a genuinely nicer person to work with than Joe. He's done lots of work for us, from installing a 200 amp service to recessed lighting. He knows his stuff, shows up on time, does great work and is genuinely a really great guy! read more

Joe was super helpful. I actually just called him for a few questions and he gave me some advice about my electrical issues I'm running into. If I need to hire someone it would be him. Very nice guy and helpful. read more

I had these folks come out to bid a job at my home. We agreed to use them and set up a future time and date. That appointment morning at 8 a.m. I called to confirm... no answer, so I left a message. Joe called back at 9 a.m. He didn't remember he was due to come and start work at 10 am. He didn't recall the job at all. I called him out for that (I had totally arranged my schedule to be home for the 2 work days!). He rudely said, "You know what? I don't think I want to work for you". Wow!! I hung up. What an unprofessional loser. He made a mistake (oops), then got defensive and turned nasty. Some people just can't admit that they goofed up. Don't use this guy. Loser!! read more

Joe is a wonderful electrician. He is on time and can assess your situation and tell you what you need. We have called Joe for 3 different projects and his work is always 1st rate. We very much appreciate his professionalism and expertise. read more

I was in need of an electrician to install an electric car charger/outlet at my home. After doing research on Yelp, I contacted Monticello Electric, received a quick response and was able to schedule a visit to get a quote in short order. Joe came out to my home on a Wednesday morning, examined the job, gave me an estimate and we scheduled installation for the following Tuesday. Less than 24 hours before my scheduled install date, I received a voicemail from "the electricians" stating that my landlady had not approved the car charger installation and associated costs and therefore my appointment was being rescheduled until further notice. Oddly, I own my own home and do not have a landlady. I promptly returned the call and realized there was nothing but confusion about who I was, what my landlady (who does not exist) had/had not done to delay the scheduled work, etc. I was offered to reschedule my appointment, with zero reasons given as to why (nor any type of apology for the mix up), for an entire week later. Rather than engage with this company, who in my experience does not prioritize customer service and appears quite unorganized, I decided to go elsewhere to get the work done. Based on my experience: proceed with caution. read more

Called on Sunday morning even a holiday weekend. They were there in 30 minutes. Great rates for a weekend. Will be using again. read more

Can't complete a basic 208v to 240v extension. Cost me a lot of lost time. He's probably fine for your house but I'd avoid for commercial work. 3 other electricians said no problem but were unavailable on the day we needed him. To respond to the businesses comments 1) No permit was needed 2) Was completed in 40 min by another electrician read more

i haven't found a plumber, contractor, or any other service person i am loyal to in napa- but i will use no one but joe as my electrician! he is totally reliable, quick, dependable, and honest. look no further. joe is the man read more

Very professional, did a great job and are affordable. I was really impressed with their work. I would definitely hire them again.

Since purchasing my little fixer-upper seven years ago, I've worked with MANY service people, and none have been as reliable, prompt and honest as this couple. They have done several jobs including changing my home's panel board. Their prices are very reasonable, and they are very courteous. When I called them most recently, they came, took a look at the job and recommended an easy perfect fix that saved me hundreds of dollars. I highly recommend their work! read more

Monticello Electric - I painted the new, sleek panel board the same color as the wall using primer paint for metal. - Electricians Near Me - Napa, California

This guy rocks. Cool, smart, precise, and fair. I have had him install dozens of lights, power outlets, etc. I'm a perfectionist and he always meets my expectations. True Story: I literally flew him from Napa to New York City to do work on my other home. He's that good. :) read more

We were so pleased with Joe's work. We had three jobs for him to do. He did two jobs expertly and recommended we just get a fluorescent light for the third task. Gabriella came along and was ready to give Joe a hand. We highly recommend their work, why hire anyone else! Their rates are reasonable read more

Not much to be said that hasn't already been said. The tldr is, Fast, efficient, fair and a genuine nice guy. The initial job was to extend a circuit for a new hot tub, fix a broken wired smoke alarm, repair some lights that refused to turn on, install a outdoor outlet. Ended up hiring him to do significant additional work including pulling new 50amp circuits from the main panel. His price came in significantly lower than some of his competitors "upvalley" and he was able to get to the job faster, got it done quicker, and was more responsive in general. All work passed inspection without issue. I am glad to have an electrician I can trust and recommend Monticello Electric highly. read more

Stunningly fast response time, non-pushy, great advice and super diligent and competitive. These guys gave me an excellent experience when my 30+ yr old main breaker wouldn't switch back on (3 days after moving in). The next day I had a brand new box and they came in under quote. Can't beat that! Thank you Monticello Electric! read more

Joe is absolutely wonderful! They make every effort to come out to assist as soon as possible, the service fees are always reasonable, and he/wife are just really good people. Highly recommend! read more

No power to my house since the night before; he was the third electrician I called, and the only one who answered right away and was available to come to my house that day. He quickly diagnosed the issue, and had it fixed in two hours which included finding the replacement breaker. All in a friendly manner and at a reasonable cost. Will recommend and use again in the future :-) read more

Five stars are just not enough! Monticello Electric, AMAZING! I had so much to do with new Home, rewired the entire garage , removed old 1967 wiring, can lights, pendant lights, adding outlets, kitchen chandelier, ceiling fans, the list is endless. 100% Amazing work. Even after the fires they came back to work. Super nice and great price! We would and are recommending Monticello Electric to anyone I know who needs an electrician! Oh I forgot, the weekend we moved in, we found that none of the outlets on one wall and one on another had no power.. uggg. Just another problem to add to the list. I told Joe, he kindly went up stairs while working on the other issues and found the problem. I mean he is a trooper! Soon to be fixed! Monticello Electric read more

I give him four stars for pickikng up the phone and helping me. The others I called all could not pick up the phone or in one case their voice mail was full so I couldn't even leave a message. Depending on his fix and the cost tomorrow, I will move this rating up or down...I forgot to say that he was incredibly helpful! read more

Joe was great! On time, super efficient and went out of his way to be helpful!!!! Awesome customer service!!! Will definitely use him again for all of my electrical needs! read more

Ready for another 5 star review of Joe and Monticello electric? Our dryer quit mid-cycle sometime on Friday and we didn't notice until Saturday when we pulled out a load of damp laundry only to find the dryer would not turn back on. We tried the breakers thinking it was probably an electrical issue but that didn't fix it. Since it was a weekend all the appliance repair places we called were closed and none of the handyman services we contacted got back to us. After finally reaching someone on Tuesday I was shocked to find the service call would be $100 and if it was an electrical issue, not a dryer issue, we'd still be charged the fee and then have to call an electrician anyway! Turns out this was all a blessing in disguise! I decided to contact Joe after reading his Yelp reviews and messaged him today around 4pm telling him my situation. He responded within an hour! He had other calls but took my number in case they were able to fit me in before it got too late. They called at 7:55 pm, arrived moments later, and fixed the problem in under 15 minutes! Not only was the service fast but so personable and genuine! I cannot recommend them enough and we will use them when we upgrade our electrical panel in the future. Thank you so much for saving this new mom with mounds of baby laundry piling up! read more

When the power went out in part of our rental property in Napa Valley, Joe saved the day. We reached him late on a Saturday night and was there first thing Sunday morning. He fixed the problem quickly, and even spotted and fixed a problem with a GFI breaker we didn't know about it. And his rates were very reasonable! Highly recommended. read more

I have had them over to deal with several electrical problems, including one caused by another electrician, and each time they have 1) been available promptly (usually the same day), 2) quick to figure out the problem, 3) done the repairs quickly, and 4) charged a very reasonable rate. Highly recommended. read more

He is a hardworking efficient electrician. He will come on weekends or even Sundays. He replies to your calls immediately. I am so glad we found him in yelp. He had installed 6 lights in 3 1/2 hours. His price is also fair. read more

I was in need of troubleshooting on a remodel job in an older building so I called Monticello Electric. Gabriella answered my call and said that they would stop by the job at 4 PM that day. Gabriella and Joe showed up 5 minutes early, looked at the job and said that they could do it in about 2 hours and they would start right then. They completed the job in an hour and the finished product is very professionally done. The bonus is that Joe and Gabriella are truly nice people, calm and friendly and very talented. I will hire them again without question. read more

Joe is the go to guy for electrical work after a recent remodel I had a mystery with a particular circuit and also need some additional outlets and a switch installed. Joe installed a new power service replacing a old glass fuse setup that must have been original from 1941. There was scary dryer power that was also put in the new service. Joe really is a top notch guy. Easy going, honest and hard working. I had him do some work for me in Napa and felt he was thorough and did quality work. I'm reading all of these 5 star reviews and I feel like I should add one more. I lost power to my hot water heater and traced it by myself to a bad breaker. I called numerous electricians and got busy signals for all of them except two. One I made an appointment for 4 days from now. Joe said he could be by in about 20 minutes. He quickly figured out that the breakers were good and began tracing what the problem was. His response was stunningly fast like another review and I really couldn't be happier. Will definitely use them whenever I have a problem. Thank you Monticello Electric! read more

I would give Joe negative 5 stars, if available. He started buying many parts for the small wiring job in my garage, which he finally did not use, but said that "you paid for all this" just after arriving. After checking the receipt that he left with me to return some of these items, "because you paid for all this", I figured out that he does this to get reward points on his Home Depot contractor account. This guy was supposed to check with me what was needed for the job before buying anything without my approval. After working for a couple hours he made a second trip to Home Depot to buy additional material, time for which he charged me at his regular rate. And believe it or not, he forgot to buy everything needed for the installation. After more than 4 hours, he did not finish the job and the quality of the installation is very poor, with conduit and an ugly box not sitting properly on the wall. He also showed lack of expertise mounting hardware on finished walls, when he tried to use undersized fasteners for a heavy duty application. I am hiring another contractor in the Napa area to redo the installation, which looks like part of a factory or an industrial lab. If you do not want to end up with parts to return on your own after this guy leaves your home and paying a professional contractor to do the job again, find someone else to work on your project. read more

Joe was quick to respond, work me into his schedule, and reasonable. He clearly knew what he was doing, secured the permit for us, and dealt with the city inspector for the exterior work. They don't come any better. I needed my front exterior light replaced, so I called and asked for an appt, and Joe said, "How about tomorrow" !
