Deceptive Promises & Poor Support After 18 Years…read more I have been a loyal Sheer Security customer for 18 years, but my recent upgrade has been a complete nightmare. I agreed to upgrade ONLY because I was repeatedly assured that I would be able to install the software and stream live footage from my cameras on my MAC Desktop. Patty came out to my home and specifically told me everything would work with my system. Then the installer arrived and said my computer software was "too old" -- even though the desktop was only 2 years old. When we could make sense of buying a new MAC desktop - we purchased ANOTHER brand-new computer, and the Apple store confirmed it was compatible with the software being used by our security system. Yet the system still won't work because now we are being told that the problem is no longer MY software, but the security company's software has been updated. When I asked for a technician to come out and fix the problem, I was only offered a remote attempt at correcting the issue -- which did nothing. At no point did Sheer Security disclose any limitations or risks with the upgrade. It has become clear that the system I purchased was never suited to meet my requirements. After nearly two decades of monthly payments, I've paid for features and services that were never delivered. Instead of standing behind their promises, they continue making excuses. I feel completely misled and taken advantage of. If you're considering Sheer Security, think twice. They do not support their customers or the products they sell.

I read how James would show up at the house when an alarm was tripped and that he always carries. I said THAT is the man I want- someone who stands behind his business and brave! Also one of my close friends who I trust her opinion highly had recommended James as a business and personally knows him and gave high praises for his integrity and as a person! So I was feeling good about my choice and he followed through! I like that he was willing to help anytime you need him to just call him! I believe in layers of security for my house. He thinks a lot like I do and he will best tell you what is best for your particular house and situation which is great. Took a lot of work, but I feel better that it is done. I like the night vision with the alarms and the very clear pictures. I had other cameras before which can be grainy or blurry but these pictures are very clear. I like the panoramic views too which cover a lot. Better to have someone local as your alarm company as well and have a relationship with the local police. Very professional and one of the good guys! He goes above and beyond which is my criteria in giving 5 stars to the best! I liked how he also cleaned up all my other wires, cleaned up after himself, made it look pleasing to the eye, etc. Nice assistant as well and very polite. So, a solidly good company with lots of integrity which is so important in the security field and in today's world. I corrected his final bill and even paid him a bit more then I actually owed him but less than the bill he gave me and got back a short answer of "OK". That was the last I heard from him. I've tried multiple times to contact him over the next 10 months for various small support related items and he's been silent. My GC apologized and said since I paid him directly they could not help. His work was part of a whole house remodel and he was the only Sub that literally never returned a call. I'm sure he has a different point of view but we never got to discuss it... Here's what else I'd say, the work he and his team did was top notch but be aware that you might not get any support afterwards if you question an invoice. I've since found another AV vendor and they also do great work and actually respond with support when needed.

The installation went quickly despite a two-day power outage in my neighborhood which also testifies to the self-contained operations of my installed system that can run off battery power. When an issue came up with one of the wireless window sensors, Tony came out and spent some time trouble-shooting the entire system and found an issue with not one but two sensors that were replaced immediately and free of charge. David in the front office has always been fast to respond to questions I've phoned in. He helped me with instructions to reset my system after I goofed it up by playing with a balking sensor which only needed a battery change. Ultimate Security has been providing good service to us for years.
