This review is for Glo Tanning in Plano. I'll save time by saying just throw the whole place away. High employee turnover, The check in process is trash. If you use multiple machines during your visit you have to keep going to the front to let them know your ready and every time you go to the front you have to wait in line while they try to sell products or check people in. They constantly try to sell you product. I didn't even know they had robes until a year later when I heard them asking a new person if they want a robe. They have a red light therapy sign on one of the rooms and it's definitely not a red light therapy bed and of course the employees don't know any better. The steam pod smells like urine. I had to get out of it. It was disgusting. When I tried to cancel I had to email them. When I emailed them I received no response or confirmation. Then I tried the live chat. Live chat worked but I did not receive a confirmation email and was left wondering if I'm getting charged again. Like I said just throw the whole place away. read more

I drove past this salon the other day and it reminded me of my visit last May when I came in for a complimentary spray tan. Unfortunately, I ended up waiting close to two hours for a tanning bed. After the first hour, I considered leaving, but the front desk associate was very kind and I felt bad walking out. The only uncomfortable part was being continuously offered additional services while I was still waiting. I understand that upselling is likely part of the job, so I don't blame her personally, but given the long wait time, it didn't feel great as a customer. I've been coming here for years showed up today at 2:25 pm sign says OPEN flashing DOOR LOCKED no one there. It's Wednesday 12/20/2023 no one returned my multiple calls. NOT a holiday or a day before a holiday and this isn't the first time that this has happened when I can't get service. No one ever returned my calls and they are supposed to be open 10-10 Monday-Thursday. I don't live just a few minutes away and I have been paying a monthly fee for years. They just don't care. I just called scheduling misunderstanding...for what I have paid for years and no one returning my call WRONG ANSWER. I can find someone closer. I've been driving to this place for easily 5 years and I got blown off. Tried to cancel membership last night and was told I had to come in and sign a piece of paper but the lady I spoke to said she would note my request. I went in for the first time to get a spray tan and the woman was very kind, but seemed frazzled. Unfortunately, that showed up in my spray tan where I have numerous orange and white patches that are very noticeable. During the spray tan she only sprayed one of my hands and almost completely left out my face before I asked her if she planned on spraying it. I haven't used their beds, but do not get a spray tan here. It's probably better to just stay a little pale especially if you're getting it for a big event. *I have received numerous spray tans, so I understand the lotion application and when the unevenness may be user error. Avoid at ALL costs! This is the worst tanning bed I have ever been to and I've been to dozens. Not only are the beds not sanitized, the staff is rude. The owner is super creepy and stares at me every-time I go in. I walk out feeling dirty! The "sauna beds" they have are a joke and do not do anything. If you have time to spare with absolutely zero results, try one out! Also, when you try to leave they continue to charge your card knowing you'll never be bank. I had to go to my back to dispute charges. All in all I give this place a -10. Save your time and money and go to a reputable place. I'm surprised that they are still in business with the way they treat people, their poor customer service and un-sanitized beds. Gross! Stay away from this place! read more

Okay, so I just left tan factory about one hour ago. I just wanted a simple spray tan. The lady who did my spray (not Mackenzie, but the other woman working) did my spray tan. First of all. The tan is not dark at all and when I mentioned I'm an exotic dancer I felt a lot of animosity towards them. Then, after I leave, Mackenzie calls me and straight up accuses me of stealing the woman's ring who did my spray tan. I'm a dancer, I do not need to steal a THING. I can pay my own way. I was literally going to buy a membership too but this salon makes me feel like an absolute piece of trash. Accusing me of stealing?? I've had a Cartier bracelet stolen from me myself, I know how awful it is. But I will absolutely never ever be back to this place. They treat dancers like thief's. I do hope she finds her ring if it was ever lost in the first place, she said it was her grandmothers. Why would I ever do something like that. It makes no sense. If you are a dancer, I highly recommend going to another salon that won't give you nasty looks when you mention you're a dancer AND accuse you of stealing a ring, a ring that I wouldn't have even liked from when she described it to me. Save your money. Update:9 Hours later. Spray tan is blotchy, uneven and PALE! Even my friend briana hates her tan. This place is such a miss. Save your cash. I want my money back. They allow under age kids to tan even though TX law states no one under 18 can use tanning beds. How do they do it? Have the kids falsify there age on the membership. Happened to my daughter today. I will be doing everything in my power to shut this place down. read more

As a new client at the salon, they offer a free 30 min. facial. I paid extra for the hour. It was an awesome experience. But, the best thing; after one facial, my skin looks AMAZING. I just had a heat wrapping session ( not sure of the actual name) with Jana. She was courteous, professional and so so sweet. Gave a brief description of what was gonna happen and how it works. Let me tell you I had a 7 inch all over loss. Arms, thighs, stomach. The most was my mid section. I'm only half way to my goal but this was a great experience . Call today and do the wrap. Totally worth it. It smoothed out the cellulite on my thighs and some on my arms. 60 minutes is a long time when you're sweating..but if you work out... you sweat! Same hotness. It was doable. And Jana was great. Thanks again!!! I cant wait to do it again at the end of my goal. Just as a side note you get measured naked, I had my bra on and measured again when done. I have been coming here for a couple months now. The girls at the desk are always friendly and were very helpful in the beginning as it has been years since I tanned and I am quite fair skinned. The place is always clean and they have a variety of beds to use. I just had a facial by Maggie. The facial was relaxing, my skin felt very fresh and smooth afterwards. I did not break out from the products used. $45 for an hour facial is a great price (I actually paid less than that because an express facial (30min) was included in the tanning package I purchased and I paid the difference to upgrade to the hour facial). She also shaped and tinted my brows which I am very happy with. I have blonde brows and dye my hair red and she was able to match the color perfectly. Will definitely be tinting them again, so much easier than penciling them in. read more

Tan Factory continued to charge my credit cards for two months after I cancelled my membership. I called 2 dozen times and left messages for the owner and was assured every time by employees that he or his wife would call me back. I never Recieved one call!!! When I went in to get my card refunded I was told by the owners wife it wasn't her fault her employees did those things and that they "didn't" get the messages, and that she wasn't respondsible for their actions when she wasn't there. So I would not be receiving a refund and even said she might charge me a third month because I should have come earlier. I was absolutely disgusted with her and her lack of customer service and very serious lack of responsibility for her employees and their mistakes. I have never in my life dealt with such a shady business!!!!! read more

Thank you for the comment. I do not expect the salon to call to remind me that my membership will be removed from a freeze. I expect the salon to honor the 6 month freeze I requested. I was extremely clear that I do not tan in the winter when I placed my account on freeze. Despite requesting a 6 month freeze to cover the winter months, my account was unfrozen after 2 months. This created a 4 month error. I was only refunded for 1 month. Even when I came in to cancel my membership and was told I had to pay an additional month, I did not complain. Even though I don't agree with this practice, I knew it is what I had agreed to when I joined. Prior to leaving this review, I called the salon 3 times and left messages for you to call me so we could resolve. I sent a FB instant message. Only after I leave a negative comment, which could have been avoided, do you respond on Yelp. I have gone to your salon for over a year and would have appreciated you calling me. read more

My posting is solely about the accounting practices and cancellation policy for this business. I bought a membership, then used it for a few weeks before freezing it. Set the reminder on my phone to re-freeze the membership in 6 months. In 6 months - I called to cancel because I no longer wanted the membership. I was told I had to come in and cancel in person and that I hadn't called before the 10th so I had to pay for a month membership. Ok - I missed the date. Then, when I went in to cancel I was told I had to pay for ANOTHER month membership because I hadn't cancelled with 30 days notice. Just a warning - watch your money here. read more

Staff is very unhelpful. I froze my account on the day they charged me (for the next month) due to health reasons and asked they credit me for the unused month. They never did. It's been a few months and I asked to just cancel the account rather than leaving it on a freeze. They told me that I would be charged $39.99 to cancel and there is no way around it even though I can't use the tanning services. So they would end up with 2 1/2 months of payments from me without using the services. I asked to have the manager call me and the girl said, she's going to tell you the same thing as me. I've been a client there for a long time, you'd think they would be more helpful. Additionally, when I was tanning there I ended up with bumps on my back all the time because the beds were not clean. So I started taking my own wipes to clean the beds before I tanned. read more
